The media and the 'royals' need for coverage are hand in glove

Now that support for 'royals' is falling to 50% it will be interesting to see which tabloid breaks ranks first

Guardian has been doing good quality journalism and questioning the 'royals' - who decline to answer the most basic of questions

There is a whole thread in the press and the royals on this topic area

And it's not just what the press publishes ( photoshopped or otherwise ) it is what it does NOT publish or what it distracts us from

It amazes me how the simplest lighthearted threads get twisted 😔

The OP did not position this as a Royal fan thread. The OP simply said "New picture of late Queen with her great/grandchildren by Princess of Wales". Some people have chosen to use the thread to express their worship for the Royals, others have not.

I don't want to hear from posters saying that they can't have a nice thread about H&M without it being derailed, after these posts on two fairly inoffensive threads!

If the OP includes nothing but a photo and the title of that photo, it is not 'derailing' to offer your opinion of the photograph posted.

It's such a relaxed informal picture. All the cousins seem so at ease with each other it's lovely that they all seem to be close. Not obviously just going by one snap but also at the Jubilee how we saw them all mix and play at that procession with floats and celebrities.

A lovely photo of a beloved granny and her grandchildren....people actually judging it and commenting ridiculous and unkind things is just baffling, it's a photo full of innocent children.

If you don't like the RF just hide the thread or scroll on....there's a certain kind of poster on the royal threads who are just filled with such vitriol their level of commitment to derailing threads and bickering with each other is unhinged.

The queen looks a bit bemused/confused by it all. Not the best shot of her, I'm afraid.

It’s definitely something I’ve noticed. And if I’ve noticed it it’s a definitely a thing as I’m usually not very observant.

Well if someone made a TikTok about it must be true 🤣 apparently it’s photoshopped because there can’t be light coming in from both sides of the room. The American who made this clearly has never seen pictures of Balmoral.

It’s so embarrassing isn’t it that people compare their situation to that of the last famous family in history 🤣

Also pathetic that people are saying it’s not a good composition - they’d be the first to sneer if they had an old fashioned ‘sat for’ portrait of everyone looking serious and strained.

Do you think maybe she might be very sad that she knows she is dying and she will likely not see very much more of her Grandchildren? We had the exact situation at a wedding and it was heartbreaking.

She just looked like she always looked. She never seemed one for big cheesy grins really.

Are you kidding, @Janiie?? The queen was often beaming. Maybe not so much in the last few years, though.
