Tisn't.

Yes it is. You showed yourself to be lacking in any sense of decorum. In fact you delighted and continue to delight in being as crass as you possibly can.

The term you used isn’t a nice one. It’s crude and certainly not one you would use to describe anyone on prescribed pain medication for any illness let alone a terminal one. And it’s most certainly not used to describe anyone who’s older and of a different time.

Getting that many children, several quite young, looking in the same direction - let alone not blinking, yawning or picking their nose - would have been quite enough of a challenge 😂

It's actually really easy to photoshop out the nose picking or eyes shut one's because kate would have taken several in quick succession and would get a good one. I do this quite often for my clients and it's not considered photoshopping', as such.. well not by me! Just tweaking.

If she didn't, it's a miracle.

mixedrecycling · 23/04/2023 14:14

Just imagine the reaction of some posters here!

IT WAS PHOTOSHOPPED! HOW DARE THEY RELEASE IT TO THE NATIONAL PRESS!

CoffeeCantata · 23/04/2023 14:56

Some of the spiteful comments on here are pathetic.

It's a picture of a very old lady, since deceased, with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone looks happy and relaxed. It's something, surely, that most of us can relate to either on a personal level at least.

What on EARTH is there not to like? And that's a rhetorical question - no answers required.

polkadotdalmation · 23/04/2023 15:03

Photoshopping isn't an evil tool, it's used by all serious photographers. It's only serious when used to manipulate the truth.

The photo of Meghan and Harry and Archie with baby lilibet is clearly photoshopped because Meghan has an impossibly long thumb. Not photoshopped because the baby didn't exist as some twats said, but because the original probably had her not smiling but a second one did, so they photoshopped the two images. I do it all the time. It not really cheating, but achieving the best shot aesthetically

He is. The RF website has been updated as such. As a courtesy he uses the most senior of his father’s titles that Edward is not using himself. That’s now EoW whereas previously is was Viscount Severn.
Actually makes sense for him to use it given that’s what he’s going to be after Edward dies until he himself dies.

George could use Earl of Strathearn, but just as they didn’t with William they haven’t used any subsidiary titles for George. He couldn’t be Duke of Cornwall as it’s a title specific for the heir to the throne, as several of Williams current titles are.

I stand corrected! (But that is also mad and isn't how titles generally work, AFAIK!)

I have no problem with that. But commenting on the posters who are so hostile to the picture being released!

mixedrecycling · 23/04/2023 15:14

There was a PP objecting to the photo being released because it wasn't good enough as a composition

That makes sense. I remember decades ago that there was a few articles about Prince William's head being "photoshopped" onto a photo because he wasn't smiling. It was right at the start of photoshop being a "thing". And it was exactly that - he wasn't smiling in the photo released but was in all the others so they merged the two.

I wonder if that's what the twats on SM are going on about Louis being photoshopped? (Something about the way the light is hitting his hair, but to me light looks to be hitting him and the kids next to him in the same way).

It’s generally how royal titles work for sons. They use the most senior title of their fathers that he himself doesn’t use unless their own title is ‘better’.

Charles for example could have been know Earl of Merioneth when he was born as that was one of the Duke of Edinburgh’s three titles given on his marriage.

The lines of the Kent’s and Gloucesters show it well. Prince Edward is Duke of Kent, Earl of St Andrews and Baron Downpatrick. He is know as Duke of Kent, his son uses the St Andrews title and his grandson is known as Lord Downpatrick.
The Gloucesters do the same with the Duke of Gloucester, the Earl of Ulster and Lord Culloden.

ThePoshUns · 23/04/2023 15:40

It's a lovely photo. Looks very natural, much like any other family photo. With posher fixtures and fittings.
If you wish to find fault with it you really have too much time in your hands.

mixedrecycling · 23/04/2023 15:40

Not just royal titles, all hereditary titles. Heirs and grand-sons using the next title down.

Serenster · 23/04/2023 16:03

Yes, like the Cavendish family. The Duke of Devonshire has several titles, so he is the Duke, his oldest son uses the title Marquis of Hartington, and then the oldest son’s oldest son uses Earl of Burlington as their “courtesy” title. They are not “The Marquis” or “The Earl” as that designation is still their father/grandfather.

MamoruHisaishi · 23/04/2023 22:55

Lovely photo. The kids and the Queen all seem happy and relaxed, not too different from other family photos out there.

If the OP includes nothing but a photo and the title of that photo, it is not 'derailing' to offer your opinion of the photograph posted.

And endlessly posts fact free RF puffery... when we have a £100 miilion and up funny hat wearing event shoved in our faces whether we like it or not.

Except their not ordinary children, they're royal children and probably very much used to these kinds of things

AskMeMore · 24/04/2023 13:02

It is fine as a family snap.
If it had been taken by a photographer it would have been pretty poor.

AskMeMore · 24/04/2023 13:02

Although I do wonder why release the photo now? It was obviously taken some time ago.

It was released on what would have been QE's birthday.

jeffgoldblum · 24/04/2023 13:29

Thanks @Coxspurplepippin , was about to post the same thing!
