Well Kate can clock that up as an hour on the time sheet and add photography to her ever expanding list of skills.

Vitriolinsanity · 21/04/2023 18:06

She's managed to get a pile of kids and a 96 year old into shot, and get them to all face forward at the same time. I think we can forgive a little less than perfect angle.

Given she also hasn't got a crystal ball she couldn't have know this would be one of the final family snaps, nor that it would be released.

It's just a nice photo.

wordler · 21/04/2023 18:06

I love the comparison with the previous one with PP, and the formal one by Annie Leibowitz

I'm waiting for someone to say 'it' 😆

😆😆

She’s already had a couple of portraits she took of Holocaust survivors included in an exhibition at the Imperial War Museum, and photographed Camilla for a magazine cover so she’s well ahead of you on that front. 😀

Maireas · 21/04/2023 18:14

Little Mia with Granny's handbag! Sweet. I like the other one better than the Annie Leibowitz one, the colours seem dark and not quite right.

PussBilledDuckyPlait · 21/04/2023 18:17

It clearly isn't straight - look at the sofa:

I think the sofa itself is wonky - look at the depth between the two bits of braiding.

It's probably hundreds of years old!

Ooops... you've spoken of my 'it'

Sigh

Yes and in a predictably nasty way. Whatever the issues between Harry and his family, it's spiteful to make a snide comment about his kids.

LadyEloise1 · 21/04/2023 18:33

Blizzard23 · 21/04/2023 17:00

It must be quite sad for Harry to see photos like this. His children should be there and be part of the family. They are missing out on this element entirely. The fun and love of cousins and close family. It’s a shame.

It's a choice Harry and Meghan made.

You can't diss your family / in-laws publicly and then expect them to play happy families.

Royal patronage gets you to the front of any queue. Oh I forgot pianist as well.....

pickledandpuzzled · 21/04/2023 18:38

Whose the tall dark and interesting looking young man at the back? are reminds me of my eldest, who can't smile on command, either.

Vitriolinsanity · 21/04/2023 17:53

"It isn't, obviously, but, however famous you are - if you're going to put your photos on a national stage, at least hold the camera straight!"

Or maybe your perspective is skewed Grin

Nice one. 😁

TheCrystalPalace · 21/04/2023 18:40

It's Edward and Sophie's son, James, now Earl of Wessex.

pickledandpuzzled · 21/04/2023 18:43

TQ

PussBilledDuckyPlait · 21/04/2023 18:45

It is not a nice photograph by any standards. Even if you discount the wonky composition, the Queen's look of misery is heightened by the rather forced-looking grins of her young relatives. If the Queen wasn't in smiling mood, which might be understandable, Kate should have asked the others to look natural, rather than grin.

If they all looked contemplative, like James (?) in the back row, it would have been a much better shot. And a bit of judicious cropping might have fixed some of the composition issues. But, no, Kate 'releases' it with a flourish, probably because no one dared to tell her that it wasn't very good.

MrsFinkelstein · 21/04/2023 18:57

It's a lovely family photo. I'm sure the families will treasure it going forward.

These are the moments you love to look back on.

skullbabe · 21/04/2023 18:57

I’m sorry but myeloma (a blood dyscrasia) is not the same as osteosarcoma (bone cancer) - pleas stop speculating.

You say potato...

pilates · 21/04/2023 19:00

True to form we didn’t have to wait long for the nasty comments

SittingNextToIt · 21/04/2023 19:00

orangedalmatian · 21/04/2023 14:26

Ah. Thats lovely. I'm so saddened that after such a long reign she had to die such a painful death. Bone cancer is just hideous.

WTF? Source?

AuroraCake · 21/04/2023 19:01

You can definitely see a family resemble, ence between Louise and Isla and Mia is becoming more like her mother two. Her other two look like their Dad. I can see James looking a bit like William. And Savannah must be her mothers daughter. She doesn’t resemble any of the royals. They are a happy most.y blond lot. What a picture to have for the future. And yes an end of an era for them. They took one of these every year.

My understand is that they were always there together and the Yorks were there separately. And obviously Harry…I don’t know if he went in his single days.

Bloodsweatntears · 21/04/2023 19:05

Absolutely lovely photo; I’m glad they shared it.

pickledandpuzzled · 21/04/2023 19:12

I think the family like it, and that's good enough for me.

I rather like them looking a bit ordinary- slightly wonky and random.

ShannonMcFarland · 21/04/2023 19:14

She must have been off her tits of morphine to get through that meeting with Truss so close to the end.
