nice photo for a family snap. But i don't know why everyone is so "wow she's a great photographer". The camera is too high to be a really good portrait photo. 🙂

I'm a republican but I'm missing the no-nonsense Queen a bit

LadyMuckingabout · 22/04/2023 09:00

It’s a nice photo. The Queen clearly looks a bit strained, but some of the comments on here are foul. No doubt the thread will be deleted and those people will be punching the air.

I wonder what such posters are like in rl? As spiteful and unkind?

Roussette · 22/04/2023 09:03

It's hideous to speculate like this. I find it crass and unsavoury. All I know is, at 96 years old, she was smiling and shaking hands two days before she died. I am not minimising that she might have been in pain, but there are many of us who would have wished such an ending for their mothers.

I wish I could've had that.

SidekickSylvia · 22/04/2023 09:05

Lovely photo, the children all look happy and that's not easy in a group photo of children.

User339406 · 22/04/2023 09:06

It makes me sad, she looks so old and sick. My grandma died recently, she was the same age. I find the more recent photos of her upsetting to look at. The look on her face is of someone dying. I don't want to remember my grandma like that and I don't want to remember the Queen like this.

I wish they hadn't shared this photo, it feels like an intrusion at a time when she was old and vulnerable. I feel the same when my cousin shares photos of my grandma in her last weeks and we have a much smaller pool of people interested in our family photos.

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 22/04/2023 09:07

The Queen spent her life being photographed and certainly had photos taken closer to her death than this one FGS

poppysockies · 22/04/2023 09:09

Beautiful photo

MissTrip82 · 22/04/2023 09:59

Nice photo.

We’re migrants and I do really miss the opportunity to have generational extended family photos like this. Very sweet.

It is allegedly photoshopped. People have time ! https://twitter.com/marzodi/status/1649661086948270080

It's all smoke and mirrors with the 'royals'

TheCrystalPalace · 22/04/2023 11:58

Why the inverted commas for royals, @Novella4 ?

Novella4 · 22/04/2023 12:05

Lol- it's such a pain to do !

I do it though because 'royalty' is a lie
There is no such thing as a 'royal' person or 'royal' blood

Biggest con in history

Sudeko · 22/04/2023 12:09

The eldest Tindall girl looks a lot like Harper Beckham actually (and no, i'm not insinuating anything 😃)

Yes, but I wouldn't "release" my casual and not very good family snapshots with a fanfare to national news agencies.

You are, presumably, not an actual Queen?

Nor is Kate.

Nor is Kate.

She will be.

The point being though is what you would do with your family snaps is completely irrlevant. They're the royal family, you're not. They are famous, you're not. Some people do actually want to see their photos. Nobody wants to see yours.
do you actually need this explaining to you?

I saw that on TikTok yesterday.

As many many people pointed out, she missed the light on the table next to Louis shining on him and the Phillips girls next to him.

But then, her being accurate, or actually knowledgeable about photography and photoshop would limit her need for clickbait. 🙄

It's the current coordinated focus for certain people to target Prince Louis to justify their support of H&M.

The point is that the photograph is of poor quality in every respect and doesn't deserve to be featured in the national press.

And your qualifications to decide what deserves to feature in the national press are......?

PussBilledDuckyPlait · 22/04/2023 12:34

The last time I looked, it wasn't necessary to have 'qualifications' to express an opinion on your country's national press.

50percentNamaste50percentGoFuckYourself · 22/04/2023 12:36

You can express them all you like. I can tell you how baseless and daft they are.

Who cares if you think they shouldn't be in the press? They are.

You obviously care that I don't think it should be in the press, or you wouldn't be bothering to argue the point with me.

And therein lies the problem

Press or propaganda?

50percentNamaste50percentGoFuckYourself · 22/04/2023 12:45

What propaganda? What biased or misleading info is contained, and what cause is it promoting?

mixedrecycling · 22/04/2023 12:47

Anyone can send a photo out to the press, of any quality. If the media outlet thinks it is of sufficient interest to their audience then they print it. If not, they don't.

It's a bit weird to say a) it shouldn't have been released because it isn't 'good' enough as a photo, or b) it shouldn't be printed because it isn't 'good' enough as a photo.

It had sufficient interest to be printed/posted in various outlets (including on MN!). Because of the subject matter. Why is that a problem?
