One does idly wonder if the KP media team post on Mumsnet ......I have my suspicions.

Agreed, plus the Sussex Squad

LOL, the Sussex Squad isn't an organisation or office like the RF and BM are...

The Sussex Squad is just a large group of people from all over the world who have come together over the years with one common goal.

That goal is to counter the vitriolic racist, demeaning vile abuse put out there by the media through the RF offices, courtiers, etc, for their financial benefit and power.

Some of us care what they do. Some of us hate injustice and play our part. That's not an organisation.

S.S. is a fellowship of like-minded people who support H & M

And not paid by the state whereas KP media staff are paid employees to help manage and shape the narrative they wish to promulgate in the British and world press. State propaganda as it were.

Very good point, and thank you. Yes, that is correct. We aren't paid.

This also reminds me of the fact that last year, the Sussex Squad raised a lot of money in the U.S. for Archiewell, H & M charity.

There are many millions of people in this world who fight injustice for no reason other than hating injustice

They sound like mates, not best friends. I am not speculating in this case, I actually know.

Quite close mates if they enjoy long lunches together every fortnight... .

Mmmm indeed!

Tom Parker-Bowles has countered some of Harry's allegations about Camilla

Yes I see TPB words are the first item of news on online Mail this morning.Wonder why he's doing that? Never heard of Camilla's kids speaking out before. Maybe she's getting a bit stressed as the coronation looms and he's stepping in. In a PR way.

Sudeko · 21/04/2023 09:18

So what is being insinuated? That KC and CBP's people (via TPB) and the Sussex friend (Giles) colluded in briefing against Kate and William over a boozy lunch. IYP, wouldn't that makes it less (not more) likely that the affair rumours are true?

Inkanta · 21/04/2023 09:23

Parker Bowles told The News Agents podcast: 'I don't care what anyone says — this wasn't any sort of end game. She married the person she loved and this is what happened

Apparently he said this and if so a bit defensive for his mum. Pressure is on.

Sudeko · 21/04/2023 09:27

Wasn't the so-called "affair" nothing more than a brief drunken kiss in the moonlight when they are all a bit merry because somebody mistook somebody else for their wife?

Whaeanui · 21/04/2023 09:29

@Inkanta it could also be that he was asked these questions seeking some comment on Harry and he answered them. They also asked him about Harry coming without Meghan which he brushed off and started talking about the football Harry. I’m not sure that he was sent out to say it.

Sudeko · 21/04/2023 09:32

What? Who is the football Harry? Harry Redknapp?

Because that's definitely a totally normal thing to happen.

Yes - wonder why he agreed to an interview when he's bound to be asked these things. He can't dodge all the questions. I wondered if he perhaps did want to say something in defence of his mum. A few chosen sentences.

Sudeko · 21/04/2023 09:47

That's understandable but it doesn't mean we should believe him. He has also benefitted from his mum's affair- firstly, via the trust fund set up for him and his sister Laura by KC. I expect he is also quids in now that KC has moved to pole position and his children are given important roles in the family.

Wait, what??

This sounds like a fun party! When and where was it? How do you mistake your wife for someone else?

Is it like that film FACE/OFF? I was never sure how the evil Travolta character managed to sleep with the good Travolta's wife, without the wife realising that the evil Travolta had swapped faces with Nicolas Cage, because as far as I could see, it was only the faces, not the rest of the bodies that were swapped?

Was it something similar @Sudeko? Two women swapped faces and one husband mistook the wrong one for his wife?

Whaeanui · 21/04/2023 10:00

^^ most of the so-called pro Meghan and Harry posters aren’t here ‘promoting’ them or their causes, their work etc we are just defending falsehoods or what we think are unfair characterisations. Not a ‘squad’ member, I first heard the term when I started posting here.

kirinm · 21/04/2023 10:22

Also not a Sussex squad anything. I don't read articles about them and don't look at tabloids. I haven't watched any interviews they've done. Read Spare or watched the Netflix thing. Occasionally I do look at pictures and wonder how the hell M and Kate wear those painful looking high heels.

I've always found the vitriol in these threads extremely disturbing and that is the only reason I'm 'defending' anyone.

kirinm · 21/04/2023 10:24

I also think the way the Royal Family work and the general family dynamics are interesting / weird.

Well it's not a stretch that if William was having this affair with Rose Hanbury it would be open knowledge within the Royal Households, the mass of servants and protection officers don't allow for privacy in a way that we would understand it. TPB would be aware of that via his mum, could even be a regretful concern.

At these regular boozy lunches by pretty much what are male best mates TPB let it slip. "Very sad but William is playing away, but you know boys will be boys. He's playing with fire though". No malice intended. GC has a reputation for being scurrilous and combative on Twitter and a bit of twat so when the story breaks elsewhere he (drunkenly ?) tweets his insider knowledge thinking it is a big thing to do. In the cold light of day after pressure piles in on him, he deletes it.

I'm not alleging complicity here but the fact of his tweet and his close association with TPB raises the level of circumstantial evidence. Harry as well knows all of this and gets very angry at the vitriol raining down on him and his wife whilst to his mind the elephant in the room has the tabloids in retreat. It may be pure conjecture on his part he sees the hand of CPB behind this state of affairs.

orangedalmatian · 21/04/2023 11:26

I'm sure the relationships with camillas children within the royal family are entirely normal, and a reflection of a blended family. All this nonsense about jockeying for positions of power and being besties with other people is all playground level. It's a modern blended family, with the adult children and step family attempting to integrate and get along with one another.

All this playground spite emanates from Harry and his infantile 'wicked stepmother' narrative.

I'm sure it's Charles who wants Camilla to be queen with him as a declaration that she is the love of his life. Something you would do for someone in his position. He's proud of her and to be married to her. It's not for others to judge the situation. It's how he feels and it is his 'truth'.

limitedperiodonly · 23/04/2023 15:10

If I was Camilla and someone I'd invited to my party that everyone knew was coming to my party because it was in all the papers wrote in his Sun column shortly afterwards that he wanted to see the wife of my stepson marched naked through the streets and pelted with shit like Queen Cersei in Game of Thrones, I'd probably say to my secretary: "I don't think we should invite Jeremy Clarkson, until things cool down."

That's if I was Camilla. Maybe she's done that. We can't control our friends but it did give an unfortunate impression, didn't it?

mixedrecycling · 23/04/2023 15:45

Maybe I would. On the other hand, after decades of abuse by the tabloids I might have just decided to ignore them and not them control my behaviour.

Of course, that risks the occasional case where tabloid journalism SHOULD alert you to a problem.

But given the continuing hostility (as shown on this board) to your marriage of many years, and inability to accept that (sadly) sometimes relationships break down and people move on, it does seem like a good choice to protect your mental health.

mixedrecycling · 23/04/2023 15:45

not let them

Yes absolutely it did. More than unfortunate. Bad enough that the frothing unhinged (towards Meghan anyway) Piers Morgan was there.

And yes we know many of the so called glitterati attended and it wasn’t Camilla’s gig, but don’t tell me that the future Queen of England doesn’t have the power to bounce someone off a guest list if they really wanted to.

polkadotdalmation · 23/04/2023 16:26

I'm sure Camilla doesn't read the sun. After decades of abuse at the hands of the media, she probably reads literary classics at breakfast.

Absolutely this. She Is Queen (Consort) and would have a say about who she mixes with. Anyone who thinks different is just trying to excuse it. They are friends. And he continually praises Camilla in his column in the Sun. And elsewhere.
