Now why would that be? Does he sound in some way unsuitable because he has been associated with drugs?

Personally, I'm only familiar with T P-B as a food writer, rather a talented one. He may have had a misspent youth (I wouldn't know about that) but he comes across as an intelligent and interesting man, IMO.

He's also clearly (as quoted in the Times) not interested in titles or in pretending to be important - both he and his sister keep a low profile.

I don’t know @Samcro but I’d be surprised if he did, he’s always been low profile as far as his mothers role in the royal family goes.

There is another Times article in which Giles Coren calls TPB his best friend and lunches with him twice a month consuming vast quantities of alcohol together and will confess anything to him. Lest we forget it was Giles Coren with the now infamous tweet that suggested relations between Rose Hanbury and William to which he later recanted. Hmm ....

The dots seem to be connecting themselves.

In SPARE Harry says William came to be in a rage and said "this time Camilla has gone too far" and referred to a story that was in the paper at the time.

Someone did a timeline, and found that the only story Wills could have been angry about that around that time was the really strange "Rural rivals" story.

I don't know if there was an affair, and I don't care, it's their business.

But the rural rivals story was just really, really odd.

Especially as there was a follow up clean up in Aisle 4 story saying it was meant to damage Kate.

If Giles and Tom are best friends it gets curiouser and curiouser.

They are NOT best friends. They were possibly university friends and they both worked as food critics but not best friends.

Those TPB revelations are very interesting. I would class having 2 very boozy lunches together every month with Giles Coren, and he says to TPB he will reveal his darkest confessions counts in male world as best friends and does certainly colour that quote as being inside information. Maybe it was after such a boozy lunch he tweeted away indiscreetly to be piled upon soon after.

Well, it just shows that you will make stories up to support what you actually want to believe regardless of the truth of the matter. They are mates, not best friends, I am stating that as a fact but you still want to believe your own theories.

Well Sudeko without corroborating your assertion with details you are just another random person on the internet whereas the source of that is a Times article quoting Giles Coren. Best mates / close friends whatever - they are having frequent boozy lunches together, and he did post that tweet. So if there was insider information her would be in an almost unique position to know. I would say that's a very compelling piece of information unknown before. And let's not forget it was also asserted that H&M were thrown under the bus to put the press off the scent from scandals elsewhere.
