Charles has said he is disappointed Archie and Lillibet are not coming to the Coronation. But the children were not invited to anything at the Coronation weekend.
Charles will be busy the whole weekend with Coronation events and meeting officials. So why has he said he is disappointed when he would not even see them/ If he wanted to see them he should have invited them to something.

Seriously .....Can you imagine Charles packing his own weekend bag and checking his own passport is iin date. Next you'll be telling us Camilla does this for him. Aren't these the kind of things we pay his staff to do and probably not the morning he is flying out!?

Now that he's King, he doesn't need a passport any more.

All the rest of the RF do, but the monarch (in whose name the passport is issued) travels without

Thank you Edith -
I found it hilarious that pp thought he could be packing his suitcase and checking his passport, allowing 3 hours for check in ..... like the rest of us.

I'm sure like any grandfather who has fallen out with their parents, he would love a relationship with them, but he isn't a typical grandfather. He has other very close grandchildren who he clearly adores, a very busy and demanding job for someone of his age and plenty else to occupy him.

I think Harry and Meghan and their children don't figure that much in his life as people make out. He barely knows the kids, and didn't even know Meghan well enough to form a close relationship. It's his son he cares deeply about, not the baggage.

Are you taking that statement (packing suitcase) seriously? I'll let @purpledalmation speak for themselves, but given the rest of their post I took it as sarcasm.

In any case, Charles was about to head out for an overseas work trip where he was going to be on show, had to say the right things to the right people etc. No doubt the last thing he needed was a last minute meeting with Harry that had the potential to be demanding and fractious.

Charles (and the rest of the RF) have as much right to protect their mental health from Harry as Harry does from them.

So Meghan and her kids with Harry are considered baggage. Interesting turn of phrase.
