Why is Charles disappointed Archie and Lillibet not coming?

Charles has said he is disappointed Archie and Lillibet are not coming to the Coronation. But the children were not invited to anything at the Coronation weekend.
Charles will be busy the whole weekend with Coronation events and meeting officials. So why has he said he is disappointed when he would not even see them/ If he wanted to see them he should have invited them to something.

another day and another op full of speculation.

Charles has not invited the children to any Coronation events. This has been widely reported.
I mean if you don't believe any news stories why do you even believe the coronation is happening at all?

Which 'Coronation events' are you referring to? What are all these 'events' which are suitable for a toddler and 4 year old? Again, can you be specific?

And when you say 'widely reported', what you really mean is 'speculated', don't you?

AskMeMore · 14/04/2023 16:21

Widely reported that Harry and Meghan were invited but not the children.
You really saying two children could not attend part of a concert?

Everyone knows the coronation is happening. Everyone also knows the British media loves to make shit up about the royal family's relationships. Don't be so naive.

No, that has not been 'widely reported'.

A certain American 'gossip' site much loved by a long string of posters with remarkably similar styles may claim this, but that does not equate to 'widely reported'.

Again, which event are you referring to specifically?

AskMeMore · 14/04/2023 16:25

It has been reported in many publications.

Can you link to a few of these 'reports'?

ohfourfoxache · 14/04/2023 16:29

I don’t know about anyone else, but I thought it was heartening - yes, heartening - that Oliver Cholmondley (sp?) has reportedly got some role in the coronation

It is tiresome how so many Royalists who are always on here claim to never read negative news that is widely reported.
Its like you all have a filter so that anything negative does not exist.
And none of you seem to know how to google.

FFS are you incapable of googling. There are lots. This was the top hit, but just google.

So an unnamed 'expert' referring to unnamed 'events' in a tabloid is now a 'report'?

Can we take it this is the standard of evidence, or lack thereof, that you apply to all stories about all members of the royal family? I assume it must be.

Viviennemary · 14/04/2023 16:33

He could hardly say he is glad they aren't coming. He has probably not said anything at all.

An ability to exercise critical thought and not take at face value everything written in tabloids or a rabid American 'gossip' site does not make one a 'Royalist'.

purpledalmation · 14/04/2023 16:37

Royal sources so I suppose it's true. If so he's a bigger man than his nasty son. A testament to a parents love I guess. Even Ian Huntley s mother loves him and I know for a fact it's true as I've seen it with my own eyes.

purpledalmation · 14/04/2023 16:38

Op. I was surprised but I did Google lol 😂

AskMeMore · 14/04/2023 16:45

@purpledalmation Do you mean press releases from the palace?

IF - and it’s a big IF - Charles is disappointed that his GC won’t be attending his coronation (that they would have no part in and he’d be too busy to spend time with anyway), maybe he could jump in his private jet and visit them in America to wish Archie a belated Happy Birthday.

But I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Poor Harry. I’m sure he’d prefer to be spending the day celebrating his DS birthday with his family.

If he chose not to attend the Coronation the great British public would be down his throat. Now he’s bitten the bullet and decided to attend he has the great British public jumping down his throat.

Harry and Megan will never do anything right 🤷🏻‍♀️

Actually not a grain of truth, the Sahara Desert of truth!

😂😂😂

PollyPeptide · 14/04/2023 16:51

I read that Fergie hasn't been invited to the coronation but she has been invited to private, family celebrations. Maybe that's where Charles was hoping to see them.

The Beast and others reported they were not invited to any celebrations.

AskMeMore · 14/04/2023 16:56

You are disingenuous. I said it was reported in lots of publications. I googled and that was the top hit.

Perhaps he shouldn’t have chosen Archie’s birthday to put his very special hat on then 🤔

I should imagine most people would love to recall the time their grandpa was crowned King on their 4th birthday!👑
