Charles too busy to see Harry

Really...?

He has had his State visit to France cancelled, so two days freed up.

Some families do not learn.

I suspect that Camilla is hoping that those two 'spare' days will allow Charles to fix that hook in the bathroom, sand the back door that is sticking, wash her car and clear his stuff off the dining room table.

Mumsnut · 28/03/2023 15:31

Maybe Charles was afraid of being harangued about a balcony appearance ?

More likely he is still furious at the nasty remarks made about his relationship with his wife. I shouldn’t think Camilla is prepared to share oxygen with the Spare either.

Mixkle · 28/03/2023 16:30

Would I want to meet an estranged family member who unexpectedly appears in town, knowing that anything I say (or don’t say) will definitely be sold to Netflix and also appear in a book sequel and then be chewed over negatively at length by the world’s press, potentially affecting both my personal safety and ability to do my job?

Or would I think “Fuck it, tell him I’m busy” and go back to hanging out with my more discreet family members?

Hmmmmm… Difficult 🤔

I’d be too busy to see him too. No doubt he just wants to harangue poor Charles over where he sits at the coronation and what order he gets to walk in and out at the end.

Plus gather further crap for his next book/tirade/Netflix

SirChenjins · 28/03/2023 16:35

As others have said, he probably doesn’t want to provide the worldwide privacy tour with any more opportunities to whinge about perceived injustices, esp so close to the coronation.

OhcantthInkofaname · 28/03/2023 16:41

I think that the time for Charles to act was when Harry and Meghan were first being threatened. His whole "why did they leave us" is so annoying. They left for their safety. I was aghast that nothing was done when Harry and Meghan's hidden cottage interiors were plastered on a tabloid. That alone showed how vulnerable they were to actual harm. If photographs could have been taken from a distance so could a sniper shot.

blitheringblackberries · 28/03/2023 16:42

Who can blame him?

BellePeppa · 28/03/2023 16:44

I don’t blame KC. I’d be too busy for the next couple of decades.

Markasread · 28/03/2023 16:46

I don't know how he can see Harry. He's the king and Harry is a walking security nightmare. He could claim his dad has said or done anything he likes. I don't think people with a dodgy grasp on reality should be treated as if they were harmless.

KnittingNeedles · 28/03/2023 16:49

jay55 · 28/03/2023 10:35

Why would Charles want to? And risk everything he says be splashed all over Netflix or in the next book.

Exactly this. Any private meeting or conversation is going to be chewed over in a book or talked about on Netflix. I wouldn't want to meet him either.

So Harry makes what appears to be a last minute decision to come to the UK and everyone is meant to drop everything to see him.

I see he's already accusing them of working against him in the evidence he's given. Why would the RF want to sit down with him when yet again he's bad mouthing them

I think its Harry who's learned nothing

CathyorClaire · 28/03/2023 16:53

Some families do not learn.

Maybe Charles has learnt Harold's treachery all too well.

Crazycrazylady · 28/03/2023 16:59

Goldbar · 28/03/2023 10:49

I'm not a fan of the monarchy but, given that Harry shared a whole load of intensely private information about his father with the whole world, implied that he might be racist but in an underhand and non-specific way that gave him no chance to address the allegation and, not content with all this, still wants some sort of family "showdown" where the family have an epiphany, see the light and grovel in abject apology to him, it's not difficult to see why Charles might have limited time for him at the moment. Maybe it's for the best as Harry is unlikely to get what he wants out of any meeting, which will probably be unsatisfactory to both him and his family.

Exactly this.
He also probably doesn't fancy reading about this conversation in Spare the sequel.

WE are busy (me and the pot plants)

Was that the case? I thought it was a mock up of what might have been done?

What in earth are you talking about? They didn’t leave for their safety they left because they were told no to their ridiculous half in half out demands.

VixenTodd · 28/03/2023 17:12

They left
They tried to blackmail the family so Meghan could call the shots
They were told to FO
They changed the story out of spite.

Did that happen? Did someone break in and take the photos?

Typical of a spoilt brat child to expect a parent to drop everything because their lives don't exist.

Especially when that parent is the actual King and has a job to do. It’s not like he’s a retired person with all the time in the world and no fixed schedule.

Is this Frogmore? Why do they call it a cottage, the place has 10 bedrooms ffs. By their standards I live in a chicken coop.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 28/03/2023 17:29

Would you want to see a child who had sold stories on you and other members of your family? I wouldn't. Can't blame KC for saying no, if he even did. Good for him.

KnittingNeedles · 28/03/2023 17:44

Every time someone types "KC" I expect to see it followed with "And the Sunshine Band".

Showing my age.

Scoobydoobywho · 28/03/2023 17:49

Harry not only sold his soul to the highest bidder, but his family's too. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him.

MrsFinkelstein · 28/03/2023 18:06

Just like Meghan has been too busy to see her father since 2017, and Harry too busy to meet his fiancé's father at all.

I think some.distance between Harry & the Royals is probably for the best just now tbh.
