I was shocked to see photos of Prince Edward in Edinburgh. He has lost a lot of weight. Hope he is okay. Or maybe he had covid badly?

OP, the same posters who are having a go at you have made some unnecessary vile remarks about other royals - especially H&M and they come on here acting holier than though. You thread and posts are tame by comparison.

You are correct, Edward has a marked change on his appearance. This is a pic of him from last year during jubilee vs last week. He was very thin at CW day. He used to look healthy.

To me, this marks what H said about the lack of pastoral care for the RF members. We are constantly told how privileged they are. I see no reason for him to have so many engagements if he is going frail be it through grief or illness. They wold be able to send him somewhere for a few months for some r&r.

Bet Charles and Camilla are making his life a misery now that mummy is not around.

But Harry has contributed to this problem
by “stepping back”, thus ensuring that his uncle has to take on more duties 🤷‍♀️

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2023 12:47

Not necessarily, since there are lots of other 'royals' some with titles who can take over - especially temporarily.

What happened to 'slimming down' anyway?

I know many on here attacking me have said truly nasty things about other Royal Family members.
I agree Edward could rest if he wants to. None of this is essential "work".

@smilesy slimming down means doing less engagements. None of this is essential.
And if they think it is, then draft Louisa in, she and her parents seemed keen on her doing more.

Where on earth do you get your ideas from? I've never read that they want Louise to do more or that she wants to. Anyway she's in her first year at university.

WontTheRealSlimSheldyPlsFuckoff · 14/03/2023 17:33

It may not be “essential work” but if he wasn’t about then some would be slagging him off about that.

They can’t win.

As for nasty posts? There have certainly been enough of them on both sides.

I don’t agree with most of it. What I really don’t like though are mealie mouthed froth inducing posts cloaked in faux concern.

DessertsForAll · 14/03/2023 18:00

Most people have zero idea about what Edward does and does not do. There would be zero "slagging off".
In fact there are multiple articles out there along the line of - did you know the Queen had a fourth child.

So we've now moved from doesn't Edward look ill/depressed to no-one knows who Edward is or what he does is anyway. Impressive work.

Do you mean Louise? She's in her first year at university. It seems a bit daft to drag her away from preparing for her first year exams to do Royal engagements.

ShamedBySiri · 14/03/2023 18:21

This whole thread is ridiculous.

FWIW lots of men lose a lot of weight around the age Edward is - they get a health check or decide to adopt a more healthy lifestyle to see them into older age. Maybe he's been told he has high cholesterol and rather than go on statins he has abandoned dairy.

My DH 6 ft 4 went from 15stone to 13 + after abandoning dairy. Then he decided to cut out alcohol and sugar too and now he is a rangy, lean 12 1/2 stone. I really must take a load of his jackets and clothes to the second hand as they fall off him. If only I could stick to his diet...

Men in public life - Nigel Lawson, Charlie Falconer and Tom Watson are some who spring to mind who were unrecognisable after losing a substantial amount of weight. NL looked so gaunt he looked quite unwell but in truth was/is healthy.
What we think of as a healthy weight is invariably still quite comfortably well padded.

vera99 · 14/03/2023 19:22

After a life of relative indolence he's realised he has to put in the hours and do this much vaunted "how do you do" "work" of which hardly anyone but the barking bad royalists care about. So in the middle of the night he is startled awake from a dream involving Tom Cruise and is haunted by the demons not the least of his "It's a Royal Knockout" many years ago. Not even Meghan strength therapy can deal with that.

Maybe ?😁

WontTheRealSlimSheldyPlsFuckoff · 14/03/2023 20:18

Given that meghan strength therapy didn’t work for her dh gabbling about getting post coitally skelped on his arse or breaking his necklace, I’d advise any other takers to swerve it.

Maybe. 😁

vera99 · 14/03/2023 20:27

Speculations may differ, which is good or else it would be aren't the Royal Family brilliant. Yes. End of thread, and we would all have to do something better like ironing and put some more stuff on Vinted. Maybe ? 😁

WontTheRealSlimSheldyPlsFuckoff · 14/03/2023 21:11

Speculations will never differ as much as the recollections.

No maybe about it. 😁

As said above, everyone has their opinion and that is only a good thing. To be mealie mouthed and posting utter nonsense in the hope of getting a froth fest going and then dressing it up as concern or worse, fact, is not a good thing.

Instead of spouting pish (for want of a better word) about the RF continually, it might be nice if we could discuss it all without trying to re-write history, make shite up and perhaps leave the agendas at home.

Maybe.

Saschka · 14/03/2023 21:27

DessertsForAll · 13/03/2023 10:59

Okay got the memo. None of us should care a shit if he is ill. And when he does die at some point in the future we should all just shrug our shoulders. Because who cares?

You want us to agree with you that he is most likely dying??

Seriously, he is the least offensive of all of them, and mostly keeps his head down, so you are trying to start cancer rumours. Just grim, OP.

This would all be so appropriate for the numerous H&M threads, tbh.
Where have you been? 😀

WontTheRealSlimSheldyPlsFuckoff · 14/03/2023 21:56

What’s with the smile? And how do you know I haven’t been there? Or not called stuff out?

I have not cast aspersions about the health of H&M, nor have I dressed anything up in faux concern in the hope of starting a bit of a bunner.

I have never started a frothy thread about them for shits, clicks and giggles either.

notanotheroneagain · 14/03/2023 22:00

But you have been on them, and never protested ? Is that correct?

WontTheRealSlimSheldyPlsFuckoff · 14/03/2023 22:10

See?

Agendas.

Word twisting.

It is tiresome.

Cast your aspersions. I know the truth.

Yes, just looked at the recent photo. He definitely looks thin and frail there. Hope he's okay.

MissTrip82 · 15/03/2023 07:44

I must be blind because I can’t see much difference.

Most likely he’s been on a fitness thing, quite usual at around this age. Or may be that he’s lost both his parents in the last couple of years. That’s brutal no matter how long they lived.

Yep, reckon that’s it! Grin

Maireas · 15/03/2023 08:26

Maybe he's lost weight. Maybe he's taken up jogging or gone carb free. Maybe he's been ill, maybe he is ill. Maybe at the weekend he dresses as a unicorn and calls himself Derek. I have no idea.
All this is speculation, some of it very unpleasant. Just let him be.
