Prince Edward has lost a lot of weight

I was shocked to see photos of Prince Edward in Edinburgh. He has lost a lot of weight. Hope he is okay. Or maybe he had covid badly?

Wow! He looks so old, older than Andrew

I noticed this. Hope he's ok.

This was commented on when the Queen died.
I think he's just becoming an older typical Windsor. All the men are a bit craggy and slim. Duke of Kent, Prince Philip. Charles himself.

His deterioration in weight and looks is quick. He is only 59 years old.

Not sure how he looked before, but he looks like a pretty normal weight guy in that photo.

Definitely wouldn't describe him as being gaunt or unhealthy thin.

He has obviously been ill. I hope he is okay now and on the way to full recovery.

I think that might just be a particularly bad photo in the OP. I’ve just looked at some videos from today and he looks fine. I’m still wondering what the pint of this thread is???

I wonder if it’s grief at losing his mother? I was shocked at how he looks.

I went on Twitter and various tweets worried about him. People wondering if it is grief that has made me lose so much weight and look ill and maybe the stress with Charles changing everything around.
Also lots pointing out that the Palace pretend to us Royal Family members are very healthy even when it is clear they are not.
Hopefully by Christmas he will look healthy again.

@smilesy Then compare him to a year ago. He looks very different. And the coat he is wearing in Edinburgh looks far too big for him.

The angle of the camera, in the "gaunt" photo is looking upwards at him and he has his mouth wide open. In the 2022 picture he's posing, and it's an official professional photo.

He has lost a lot of weight in a shortish space of time. Looks at the photos and videos now and a year ago. The photo I posted in 2022 in this thread does not look very different because of camera angles.

The Duke of Kent is 87. Many people lose weight when they get much older. Edward is only 59 FGS. He is not an old man.

He’s lost his mum and dad in the space of a few months; his brother has been outed as a sexual abuser and his nephew has been telling the world how dreadful the royal family are.

No wonder he looks a little “strained”.

@LizzieSiddal Yes hopefully just the stress and he is not ill. Or that if he has been ill he is recovered. He is 59, an age when more serious illness can strike for the first time.
