I was shocked to see photos of Prince Edward in Edinburgh. He has lost a lot of weight. Hope he is okay. Or maybe he had covid badly?

Maybe stress related with both parents going, the stuff going on with Andrew, the Markles, or maybe he's been watching his diet and exercising more, as a man approaching sixty.
Maybe Andrew should follow his example, he looks like the Duke of Pork nowadays 😉

A full length photo as requested. This is a very flattering photo of both of them. But still Edward looks much thinner than he did a year ago.

Greif does a lot of things to a person. My dad died last year and the after affects did change my appearance.

Clioma · 12/03/2023 21:47

This is such a distasteful thread. Perhaps he is ill. Perhaps he has just decided to lose some weight. Maybe he's taken up running. Maybe he's been grieving for his mother and aware that every move he makes in public is under scrutiny. Who knows? Whatever the reason this sort of speculation is horrible.

You're right. I lost a close family member unexpectedly a couple of years ago and when I look at photos before then and now I look so much older and more tired.

DessertsForAll · 12/03/2023 21:51

It is distasteful to express concern about him?

He looks a healthy weight, maybe like most nearing 60, he’s been told to loose any extra.

DessertsForAll · 12/03/2023 21:55

So you are saying he has just been on a diet?

My sunken in eyes and dark circles still have not cleared up.

Where was this photo posted OP - It is one of Jane Barlow's photos and I've not seen it utilised by any of the usual newspapers - I locate it on celebitchy though - there are a couple of posters on the RF threads who do seem to cross post from that website.

DessertsForAll · 12/03/2023 22:08

I took photos from the Daily Mail and twitter. Most of the articles about Edwards visit to Edinburgh are using old photographs of him.
I have posted three photos.
I do not know how anyone could deny he has lost a lot of weight.

@myrtleWilson how do you know which photographer took which photo? Do you work for the palace?

Maybe he’s been on Atkins. Weird, weird thread.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/03/2023 22:13

He might just have cut back on the booze a bit. Why 'obviously ill?'

DessertsForAll · 12/03/2023 22:22

He has lost a lot of weight quite quickly and his skin looks pale.
As I have said it might be grief and stress, or maybe he had covid badly, or maybe something else. But hopefully whatever it is he is recovering fine.

myrtleWilson · 12/03/2023 22:27

No, I don't work for the Palace 🙄 - her data is embedded in the photo and the only place I could locate the photo in your OP was on celebitchy - It wasn't on the DM gallery when I looked before posting but perhaps it was there previously when you saw it and the DM have taken it down to avoid speculation about his health.

NotQuiteUsual · 12/03/2023 22:30

A relative of a similar age had a health scare, it shook him up quite badly and he lost a shit ton of weight very quickly. All through proper diet and exercise mind you, but when I first saw him I thought he must be sick. I was shocked to discover it was quite the opposite.

DessertsForAll · 12/03/2023 22:35

Well I hope for his sake you are right.

greenspaces4peace · 12/03/2023 22:42

on a man of that height and stature even a measly 10lb weight change would do this, isn't everyone pale in feb/march??

It is distasteful to express concern about him?

Yes very distasteful to comment on anyone’s appearance, male, female, royal or not

Nothing to gain except being a gossip

WontTheRealSlimSheldyPlsFuckoff · 12/03/2023 22:52

Frothy as, Mrs. Vicarage.

DessertsForAll · 12/03/2023 22:52

Well when someone suddenly loses a lot of weight and looks ill I think it is natural to express concern.
But then I am not English. I do not understand this viewpoint that we should totally ignore when people do not look well and pretend it is not happening. Its like no one else matters outside our own family.

OP posts:
DessertsForAll · 12/03/2023 22:54

And everyone on here comments on appearance of the Royal Family. You all say how beautiful Kate looks for example.
Its like some ancient cult where we are supposed to pretend the Royal Family never get ill.
