What happened to just call me Harry? Why would they want their children to be burdened with titles?

Bowing or curtseying is not an issue with Americans. Protocol has long been that Americans don't bow or curtsey to foreign monarchs, much less their progeny. Some might choose to, but there is certainly no expectation.

Now the Queen has gone it needs to stop here too.

The article is wrong about this. There are no archbishops in the US Episcopal Church. He is a bishop, and it's not that unusual for bishops to perform baptisms. Even the primate is not an archbishop, but the Presiding Bishop.

Well the idea of princes and princesses, kings and queens is fairly ridiculous and cringe but if we're not going to become a republic then Princess Lilibet she is, and we have no say in that.

And the "German" thing comes from Prince Albert. The current king's great great great grandfather. One of 32 of them. 4 of my ggg grandparents were Irish. This does not make me Irish.

The "Germans" thing is most definitely used by lazy people as an insult. It's never "bunch of Greeks" which is possible more accurate, given Philip's background.

Hurray for them. She got what she wanted. H probably couldn't care less seeing as he's always been a prince and it's no big deal but maybe he's the same.

Despite their protestations about the Establishment being so fucking awful, they are determined for their children to be part of it.

They might be distancing themselves by Royalty with every pitiful interview or book, but in reality they are clinging onto it through their children.

Like piles.

Apparently when it's certain royals it's not racist to sneer at someone's supposed ethnicity and descent.

It's also inaccurate. The Royal Family are descended from all over the place, including Scotland.

Lilibet is fine for a small girl. It is not fine for an older child or a woman, because it sounds like the lisping nickname it was in the first place.

My Swedish friend was telling me that their current King got rid of any protocol about curtseying when he took the throne so its just not done now

Archie and Lili became a prince and princess automatically the moment QEII died. The only news today is that their parents have apparently decided they will use the titles.

I honestly don't get their thinking. He says that being a Royal mentally damaged him in such a way he's needed years of therapy to recover, and then they go and very clear stake their children's place in that very same institution. If I were him, I'd be wanting my kids to run a mile from it, but clearly their mental health is less important than his.

Harry and Meghan made their choices, but the children deserve to be recognised as members of the RF, because they are. It's their birthright and I'm sure the parents didn't want to take that away from them, and it's not their right to do so, no matter how they may have chosen to live. It's probably Harry's way of keeping the family connections for his children, whatever his own relationship with them may be.

I'm sure the children's mental health will be fine, growing up with (some) freedom and privacy, unlike Harry's experience.

I think it's pretty shitty that not one of the crap four made an effort to come, yet they expect Harry to jump when he's called for the big Corona thingy.
