What's the big deal about Fogmore Cottage?

They are rarely in the UK. It would just sitting there empty. It makes no sense. Also, if Harry and Meghan need a home in Britain, why not buy a home?

And polls are bought and paid for

Unfortunately he did depend on his family to make that fortune, some via inheritances and the rest by pimping out his 'truth' in the form of lies and distortions of the truth and exposing his family's private lives. Now he's promoting the use of hallucinogenic drugs to people with mental health problems, much to the horror of genuine psychiatrists.

He is not 'promoting' hallucinogenic drugs. That's putting your spin on it.

If you want to talk about pimping out his truth, they've all done it.

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 08:55

@tatalan Honest question. Do you think an man who is advocating (and don't deny that I heard the Gabor mate interview) drug usage as an answer to poor mental health, is a good ambassador for a 'well' child charity?

Roussette · 08/03/2023 08:56

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 08:53

Just do one. I'm going on polls taken in this country and America to base a general consensus that we do not want either of them back here. Yours is simply an opinion. An opinion is not a fact.

I agree. Opinion is not a fact. That applies to you too?

IcedPurple · 08/03/2023 08:57

Roussette · 08/03/2023 08:49

Do you think Andrew has enough dosh too? He isn't a working Royal either. Perhaps he can live with the ex in Soho in the townhouse she dubiously managed to buy despite being broke most of the time. Should Andrew not being depending on his family either?

Won't happen for either of them.

When the RF own or have use of 27 castles, estates etc in the UK, I'm sure they can find something for both Andrew, and indeed Harry.

I have no idea if the Andrew rumour is true or not, but if it is, a major difference is that he is resident in Britain. I'm sure if Harry was still resident in FC he would be allowed to keep it too. But it's ridiculous to keep a house on the Windsor estate empty for maybe 51 weeks of the year. Harry found freedom in California.

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 08:58

@Roussette I heard the entire interview. He is advocating drug use. He says he felt free using hallucinogenic drugs. He gave absolutely no warnings that drug use may exacerbate poor mental health and cannabis use is associated with psychosis and schizoid episodes. None.

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 08:58

@Roussette So all the opinion polls are lying?

smilesy · 08/03/2023 08:58

Novella4 · 08/03/2023 08:50

@purpledalmation
You have absolutely no idea how many people 'want ' Harry back
All you have is what the tabloids tell you
Honestly he was criticising the rotten relationship between the media and the 'royals' and he has been proved right on every point

I’m still curious as to why you, an avowed republican, are supporting Harry when he has categorically stated in his interview with Tom Brady, prior to the release of Spare, that he believes in the monarchy?

Roussette · 08/03/2023 09:00

smilesy should we cut off anyone who supports the Monarchy, is that what you're saying?

My very best friends of nearly 50 years, loves the RF. Doesn't mean to say I can't still be close to her, we just don't talk royalty lol.

Novella4 · 08/03/2023 09:01

@purpledalmation

Drugs and mental health - this is a very nuanced topic and you are showing your ignorance by trying to paint Harry as a drug addict or pusher

@Roussette So all the opinion polls are lying?

Opinion polls have notoriously been wrong time and time again. I take little notice of them re politics and treat them with cynicism.

So what anyway?

Which is why me, and very many others who are pro H&M, aren't worried about this Frogmore decision.

purpledalmation · 08/03/2023 09:03

@smilesy I think some posters suffer the same cognitive dissonance Harry does.

Novella4 · 08/03/2023 09:04

@smilesy

I don't support Harry exactly but I do cheer each time he lands another blow

Yes the majority of republicans put all 'royals' in the same category.
I'm in the group that thinks Harry telling some truths ( many more still hidden) helps our cause

Roussette · 08/03/2023 09:05

Posted too soon....

I feel the decision is mean, I think Charles could've been a bit more accommodating, but I think the whole thing is ridiculous eviction headlines to garner clickbait, and to possibly take away from the billions being spend on the coronation. And to show Charles as strong.

But personally, I understand why the decision was made and I honestly don't think H&M are worried about it. It isn't the huge thing posters on here are making it out to be.

Novella4 · 08/03/2023 09:06

@purpledalmation

No it's called critical thinking - it's not so black and white

Try it sometime !

RudsyFarmer · 08/03/2023 09:06

They just want their privacy!!!

weightymatters73 · 08/03/2023 09:08

They all know/knew it would be musical houses when the Queen passed. Do not imagine this is not being discussed and agreed by all parties.

Frogmore is not at all suitable for people visiting the UK infrequently - they need somewhere in London. An apartment in one of the palaces is a much better idea.

Andrew can't afford Royal Lodge anymore and I suspect needs somewhere smaller and is pitching for somewhere in the Windsor locality (in fact I suspect Adelaide cottage will also be up for grabs).

I suspect maybe Bea and Eugene might get somewhere small probably with Andrews move.

For the umpteenth time they said they wanted 'control' not privacy

euff · 08/03/2023 09:17

It doesn't make sense for the property to lie empty for such a long time when it can be used. Someone was living there before H&M.

Harry talked about wanting privacy in the Bradby interview.

Until it's a poll showing younger people don't support the monarchy, then the polls are amazing and 100% true.

Serenster · 08/03/2023 09:18

What we were told was that they paid back the 2.4M for renovations and 1yr advance on the commercial price rent. So, they paid more than the 2.4M some seem to believe

Not true. The accounts showed that they made a lump sum payment of £2.4m which was treated as rental for two years at a market rate, and then the remaining balance was treated as repayment.

So they haven’t repaid the money that was spent on their decoration of the house plus rent. They have paid rent plus some of the costs of decorating.

So they still owe money to the Crown, but luckily for them I doubt they’ll be chased for it (rules are different when you’re rich…).

I've never said that. It might show a trend. As there might be a trend about Harry.
