"Kate's Rebranding Masterclass May Finally See off Meghan"

639 replies

MrsMaxDeWinter · 08/02/2023 14:13

"Five months since she moved up to the second tier of the monarchy, the Princess has started beefing up her top team to make sure she succeeds not only with her “life’s work” on child development, but also with the task of besting Meghan Markle."

Why does Meghan have to look bad for Kate to look good? Why does Meghan need to be bested or seen off? Why is it a competition?

She isn't black, the one drop rule is vile and racist and as the white mother of mixed race children I wish people would stop writing the white side of the family out.

African Americans refer to the one drop rule all the time. Not really up to you to dictate this as 'vile and racist'.

My husband is black and from North America and he doesn't agree with you, in fact he agrees with me. It certainly isn't up to you to decide that the one drop rule is appropriate and it isn't true. My kids, and MM, are mixed race and my half of their genetics are every bit as relevant as their fathers.

As I said you seem to be the one on here who is spouting racist rubbish.

@MarshaBradyo
You seem to have trouble grasping nuance

Harry is doing a book tour - the book is huge hit worldwide - why is that surprising?
And for the 100th time H said he wanted 'control' not seclusion

He can pick and chose not be fed to the wolves by his backstabbing brother and father

Re republicans and Harry - I can see the confusion . The majority of republicans dismiss him as readily as they dismiss any 'royal'
I'm in the minority in following his story - my enemy's enemy is my friend .

As for 'popularity' and 'polls '

  • all nonsense and distraction

No you seem a a tad too invested and upset not everyone thinks highly of Harry.

I don’t get why you would care that they don’t. But there’s oddly strong feelings over it. I’m not that bothered and haven’t bought / watched his stuff. He’s using the RF connection for money, it’s a spectacle of his own making.

Honestly I couldn’t care less re the seclusion v privacy whatever else gets repeated on these threads. I find it all faintly amusing, especially some of the reactions to it on here, but not enough to care as others do.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 12/02/2023 12:18

@jeffgoldblum

I know enough about these threads to know that you and your fellow Penguins are quick to deny any racism when it comes to anything to do with Meghan or her relationship with Harry.

I also know enough about these discussions to know that things tend to escalate when you enter a thread, so I respectfully decline your invitation to talk about racism just to give you a platform to deny racism.

Ta.

@MrsMaxDeWinter , well you would assume wrong then wouldn't you! , I wasn't here when the penguin stuff started, I don't name change so by all means check . I won't bring other posters in but more established posters will verify that.
And if your referring to @randompenquinhouse , you would know she has that name because of the publisher and actually denounced the behaviour of those old posters and even queried me about it .
So I expect an apology for a lot of untrue assumptions.

jeffgoldblum · 12/02/2023 12:40

I also once again ask other posters to search my ousting history to find any derogatory and nasty posts about Meghan , I save my criticism mainly for Harry .
I don't post often as I get followed around threads and mentioned for some implacable reason.
In this I sympathise with rousette.

Novella4 · 12/02/2023 13:02

@MarshaBradyo

I don't care one way or the other about how Harry is viewed .

But rebutting royalist lies and nonsense - I'll do that all day long

Novella4 · 12/02/2023 13:03

@MarshaBradyo

Actually it's very revealing great royalists resort to personality bashing or boosting

Best to keep the debate off anything of real substance isn't it ?

MarshaBradyo · 12/02/2023 13:11

I really don’t get your issue Novella

I’ve posted re a poll which shows drop in support, which you reacted to. My view is he’s using the RF connection to make money.

Neither are controversial but you seem quite agitated about it all.

Like I say I’m not that invested. Your reaction is very odd but I’m guessing these threads have been going for ages and people get entrenched and more extreme for whatever reason.

ArcaneWireless · 12/02/2023 13:21

Personality bashing?

The only thing bashed was cold and clarted in Elizabeth Arden balm. With thoughts of another personality assisting matters.

@MrsMaxDeWinter , fellow travellers???
What does this mean ?
I have no idea what you are talking about, I'm not a traveller and take offence at this.
Do you even know what a traveller is in the U.K.?
Now that is racist, even if I was a traveller how is that even relevant to criticism of Harry ?
And still I'm waiting for any posts I've made that are spewing bile! ( there aren't any from me!) .
Also I don't know any other critical posters and certainly wouldn't count unknown posters as friends!
We are not a hive mind! .
Bloody offensive.

pilates · 12/02/2023 13:51

@MrsMaxDeWinter yes please enlighten I am intrigued as to the fellow travellers too?

jeffgoldblum · 12/02/2023 14:00

In fact I'm so offended, I no longer wish to have any more dialogue with you , kindly refrain from @ me and I will ignore you going forward!

ancientgran · 12/02/2023 14:04

What have penguins got to do with it?

The phrase “Fellow travellers” does not have anything to do with the travelling/Gypsy community Hmm

Clutching at straws trying to be offended there.

ancientgran · 12/02/2023 14:08

I didn't see the deleted post but there is a phrase about fellow traveller. I looked up the definition

Someone sympathetic toward a certain point of view without being a fully paid-up member of the club. from phrases.org.uk

Could it have been that?

Novella4 · 12/02/2023 14:08

@MarshaBradyo
The only thing I'm 'agitated ' about is that the pack of corrupt sex offenders called 'Mountbatten Windsor ' are still in place

I'm not alone thank god and the lid won't be kept on this issue much longer

@jeffgoldblum - I don't know what post you are referring to but 'fellow travellers ' is a literary reference to people who agree with you . Not 'travellers '....

MrsMaxDeWinter · 12/02/2023 14:11

Good grief. This is getting laughable now.

Has my poster really been reported and deleted for using the common English term "fellow traveller"

fellow traveller (noun)

a person who is not a member of a particular group or political party (especially the Communist Party), but who sympathizes with the group's aims and policies.

It has NOTHING to do with the traveller community, especially as that word is the more acceptable term for the racist word that begins with G. Look up fellow traveller in any dictionary, and you find the same meaning, and you can read more on its etymology here.

Great knock yourself out posting about that then.

My post re a poll and that he’s making money from RF hasn’t got much to do with it, feel free to continue with expressing your wishes.. just don’t bring me in to it.

It’s all ranting over imagined slights to me and a bit bonkers tbh.

jeffgoldblum · 12/02/2023 14:14

I'm offended because referring to someone as a traveller means something different where I live! ,
And this poster has already said untrue things about me , so I'm not willing to give the benefit of doubt.
And we were all told that uppity was a racist term in the US , so even if it wasn't used that way in the U.K. we should educate ourselves and be sensitive, I took this on board, so expect others to do the same .

jeffgoldblum · 12/02/2023 14:23

Also travellers and Romany gypsies are not the same at all , Romany gypsies have a long and interesting history and we're once very respected for thier knowledge about nature, there traditional caravans have been long considered works of art and carpentry.

MrsMaxDeWinter · 12/02/2023 14:24

From an article in the Scotsman, a UK paper:

Euan McColm: History unmasks Brexit fellow traveller Corbyn
Supporters of Jeremy Corbyn are hugely fond of making the claim that the Labour leader has always been on the right side of history.

www.scotsman.com/news/opinion/columnists/euan-mccolm-history-unmasks-brexit-fellow-traveller-corbyn-1421425

Fellow travellers use in an academic context:

Neoliberalism’s friends, foes and fellow travellers: What can radical feminist and disability perspectives bring to the policy mobilities approach?

journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/0308518X20969419

It's utterly ridiculous to accuse me of being racist for using a common term that has NOTHING to do with the traveller community, and that is used in the UK itself. I won't dignify this any further thanks.
