Why doesn't he get in his car and drive to the furthest remote place in the UK and stay there? He is a horrible excuse for a human being, makes me want to vomit....feeble apologies, because he's now thinking about his finances.......he should never be allowed to be on TV or write in newspapers again....why isn't he made an example of? ....

You can't not employ people because you don't like their opinion. Believe it or not, we do still, allegedly, have freedom of speech.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have read today Grin

He has freedom of speech yes, but not freedom of employment. If I call my boss a cunt, he can fire me whilst still respecting my right to free speech.

He has lost his two series on Amazon Prime and Harry and Meghan have apparently not accepted his apology (Charles and William take note!).

Which series has he lost?

AdventFridgeOfShame · 16/01/2023 19:46

Jeremy , a footpath next to my house breaches my human rights, Clarkson.

He is a bit like Katie Hopkins, he has to spew toxins to stay in the public eye and earn a living. Poor bugger, sold his soul decades before Harry.

They are both of a type. If you need to sell it to the tabloids to earn a living, you ain't ever gonna be happy.

Top Gear and Clarkson Farm apparently.

BCBird · 16/01/2023 19:47

I don't think an apology is enough. He is an educated man,but ignorant. He thought about what he was writing , it is not like it slipped out of his mouth. To.hste someone, that's his opinion but to talk about throwing sh*t- appalling. The editor should have Vetoed this. Shame on Clarkson.

Nanalisa60 · 16/01/2023 19:48

Well I don’t read his articles as I don’t read the Sun horribly trash paper. But I will be watching Clarksons farm as it was the best farming show I have ever watched , really showed how difficult of farming in the U.K.

It's been cancelled.

Sorry Grand Tour not Top Gear

Sorry Grand Tour not Top Gear

I can’t find anything confirming this. From what I can see he’s not going to be given any new series but already commissioned series’ of The Grand Tour will still go ahead. Also found a report that he has not been removed from WWTBAM either, though that was back in December so maybe something more recent.

BethDuttonsTwin · 16/01/2023 19:55

Sorry for Daily Star link but can’t find anything more reputable…

His shows are still going ahead, including Clarkson’s Farm which will be shown next year. His contract with them runs out in 2024 anyway.

Nanalisa60 · 16/01/2023 19:55

Still says drop date for Clarkson farm is 10 February . And season three is still going ahead.

Yes. So actually nothing at all has happened to him.

GyozaGuiting · 16/01/2023 19:56

I can’t get that worked up about him. I loved what he did for UK farming and he’s apologised. People need to be allowed to make mistakes, it’s a dangerous path we’re going down.

I'm reading that he is keeping the series of Clarkson's Farm and Grand Tour that have already been commission (to 2024) but it looks unlikely they will be renewed after this.

I have to confess I'm disappointed because I like both programmes but Amazon were in a bit of a spot and likely came under a fair amount of pressure.

You are absolutely right that it is too late, as he has been dropped by Amazon Prime now. The tosser has got his just desserts.

Anthillmobontherun · 16/01/2023 20:00

I'm surprised at Amazon, not sure they'd ever give a hoot? It's all publicity for them

Yes something has happened to him he has released that you have to think before you wright horrible things about people , even if you think you are being very clever and whitey with your words. I expect that he has had a very big shock at the reaction to his article.
But if you think the the whole county is up in arms and wanting his head then you are very much mistaken. I will bet my bottom doller that he also got lots of well said , that what I was thinking from a lot of people.
I have always taken Clarkson with a pinch of salt he is a man of his time, a bit of a dinosaur.

But sorry I will be watching Clarkson farm. And I’m sure my dh will be watching the silly car show as well.

As I said won’t be reading the Sun, but I doubt many of there readers were that upset by his article.

  1. It is not a mistake, he knows exactly what he is doing
  2. It is not dangerous to expect people to behave with decency. Britain used to be a country famed for good manners, that is all that is being asked.
been and done it. · 16/01/2023 20:08

Nobody seemed to give a shit when he virtually accused every truck driver in the country of killing prostitutes. Guess they weren't important enough.

Bugeyedowl · 16/01/2023 20:09

It's a completely pathetic non-apology, only done so because Amazon have cut him off. Good call, Amazon.

It's the kind of apology you do when your parents force you to apologise for something you did wrong. He's a complete joke of a grown man.

That wasn't a mistake.
He's only sorry he got lambasted, he's not sorry for what he wrote imo.
