They are local to me. Both are just like the rest of that upper class, rah rah rah Hooray Henry cadre that they inhabit, and of which we have a lot round here. No nonsense, no not much about feelings. Which is fine, but wouldn’t make them my choice of friends.

I doubt that charities will be clamouring for them to take over Princess Anne’s patronages. They LOVE having Patron: Duchess this and Prince that on their letterhead (or website, these days), and I suspect Ms Zara Tindall won’t have the same attraction for them. I suppose Zara could start using her HRH , which would help a bit.

I think they both seem refreshingly normal and like they’d be a good laugh. I sincerely hope they don’t become working royals, I’d imagine that’s hell.

They do have a very nice, privileged life.

They were handed their house on a plate from Anne. A cottage in the grounds of Gatscombe Park which she was given by the Queen.

M will have earned money as a professional sportsman.
Z earns money from JL and other companies she is an 'ambassador' for.

The fact they don't have Royal titles is a blessing because they benefit from a house provided by the royal purse, but don't have to do any tiresome duties.

Z gets to do her hobby- rising horses - and wears a watch (or whatever) to promote a brand.

Sounds blissful to me.

I don't think sticking your tongue out at the press is good behaviour for a 41 year old, even as a 'joke'.

Everyone says (on MN) they seem a nice family. That's based on pics of them watching Z riding horses, or watching horses, or anything to do with horses.
We don't know them.
They certainly have a very carefree life, will never have to worry about money, or getting a job.

Zara is an Olympic level rider! It's is not a hobby she is a professional horsewoman. She is along way off retirement and is busy producing a string of horses to compete for their owners.

Their life is far from carefree. Mikes father has Parkinson's and both of his parents have been very unwell. Having money doesn't necessarily equal a carefree existence.

Disclaimer, because fuck knows someone'll have a cow, I don't think Meghan was smirking any more than Kate was giving anyone the side eye or Zara was pulling a face.

Really didn't like her face pulling as the vicar spoke at Harry and Meghan's wedding, she came across incredibly rude and nasty doing that.

She was heavily pregnant and in a small, hard seat. She was clearly in discomfort.

OP the reason why people tend to come out of the woodwork and defend Zara is because the horse world, whilst not small…is not exactly large. Given the way eventing is set up you can be as likely to be competing against an Olympic medalist on a new ride as you can some random from 3 stables down who rides for fun.

So a lot of us have seen her out and about, smiling when it’s all gone to shit and she’s covered in mud, swearing like a trouper when necessary and generally just getting on with enjoying her “hobby”.

@lollipoprainbow burgundy is just the in colour. It was everywhere before Christmas. Even on glasses frames and welly boots. It was easier to find a burgundy coat than a navy one. All this nonsense about dress codes is ridiculous. It was the same a few years ago when Meghan wore green and everyone said she failed to follow a red white and blue dress code. Total fabrication! People just dress appropriately. Then some stupid tabloid finds three women out of about 20 wearing the same colour and spins a story out of it.

William & Kate cannot be the only working Royals of their generation.
Harry has done a runner.
Charles, Camilla & Anne are all in their 70s, the issue isn't just now, its 5-10 years time, as they start hitting 80s Edward and Sophie will also be aging. And Andrew has made the York name Mud

Zara isn't Royal.

It's just that her Granny happened to be Queen.

Except she hasn't got HRH.

She isn't a princess - in fact no title at all. Nor has her brother. Princess Anne refused them when she was born.

If you mean a title then no, she isn’t entitled to it.

Only grandchildren on the male line are automatically entitled.

Mark Philips turned down a title so nothing to pass on from him and Anne turned down LP’s being issued to specifically title her children. No entitlement at all for Peter and Zara.
