I've caught a few items on the news about this pair. They seem to be ramping up their public presence in a rather strange way. Salacious and attention seeking. What is going on?

I watched the wedding and saw Zara making faces when the pastor was preaching

Zara and Mike were shown on screen for 3 seconds out of a 13 minute speech. Seems a little too short for anyone to be drawing conclusions on that basis.

Coxspurplepippin · 19/01/2023 11:13

That article says the complete funeral was available for a month on BBC....... Not sure what your problem is. There are videos of the complete funeral all over the internet. Videos of the dastardly inkwell incident too.

@MonsoonMadness what have you seen thsts inappropriately sexual? I've seen a few articles about her short dresses but they're not that short, it's jsut a bit of lower thigh on a 40+ woman, and him wearing her hats. She's not flashing her fanny whilst he poses in her thongs

Agree. I’ve just had to google salacious as it’s a very bold word to bandy about and I thought the meaning had changed.

I think the op might have benefitted from a Google as it doesn't seem to mean what she wants it to

I totally agree. If I was techy I would save every example of videos and photos that show any member of the Royal Family in a poor light on my PC. Because they do often vanish later.

You need a new hobby 🙄

Thank you! @DoraSpenlow
It was hard to find for me!

Just put It's a Royal Knockout into Google and then click on Images. There are quite a few there. Videos as well.

I don’t get the mystery about Mike and Zara. He’s your standard not-too-bright, blokey ex-rugby player, she’s your equally standard-issue no-too-bright laddish horsy posh girl.

Roussette · 19/01/2023 11:34

I did. There's lots of images. They just aren't downloadable onto MN. That's all

I think that's more of a Mumsnet site problem than a control by the Royal Family problem. As I said previously, Mumsnet only supports certain types of files being uploaded.

If there is some earth shattering image you are desperate for us all to see, post the link to the image and we can all go and have a look (if we are that interested). You are quite techy after all.

Yup, I couldn't post a fairly innocuous picture of a crochet blanket a couple of weeks ago - I don't think it was because of any underhand collab between the RF, MN and the crochet site. I could be wrong though. There could have been secret messages crocheted into the blanket which would have led to the downfall of civilisation. Or maybe the picture was in the wrong format. We're doomed either way.

The next evolution of the wedding day video will be how Zara was so fuming about the verbose clergyman that she stood up to walk out but Mike persuaded her to stay! Interpetation is everything even though recollections vary.

😂😂

Oh no!! A dastardly plan to bring us all down with secret messages in crochet patterns. I didn't even know Charles and William could crochet. Does that mean that foreign spies will have to learn to crochet. Can Putin crochet? We should demand to know this information.

There are not. All the videos are shorter edited videos approved by the Palace,
And this happens all the time. Sometimes you can find something on twitter that has been removed everywhere else.

Serenster · 19/01/2023 13:34

Everyone in this country has various rights to privacy and a family life in this country, though. Yes, even those in the Royal family. When there is footage of them filmed at family events, they are entitled to edit those out of the historic record (as would you be, should you be there. In the same way you are entitled to have your image or your house blurred out on Google streetmap, or the right to ask Google to “forget” a silly news story you once appeared in, and remove it from its search strings).

I'm obviously not as techy as you, I bow to your superior knowledge lol

No earth shattering image to post. The moment has passed. It was when I was on a thread yesterday, and it's moved on since then.

I found something earlier on YouTube very easily going on about various facial expressions during the wedding sermon, by searching for “Zara at Harry and Meghan’s wedding”. It’s nonsense that nothing can be found that hasn’t been approved by the palace.

To say that’s the royal family’s fault is a stretch. Do you not have a snipping tool? I’m shit at excel, now I know I’ll blame it on Camilla!

babsanderson · 19/01/2023 13:55

The Royal Family use it to erase anything embarrassing to them at all or to change history. So people like me who remember events are told they did not happen because there is no original footage to be found, and instead an article written very recently that give a different version of what actually happened. It happens all the time.

So I am told that the man the Queen was referring to when talking about a man looking like a Gorilla was a white man, when my parents who watched it at the time said a black official was shown on screen as the Queen said this. And no one can prove otherwise because the documentary is no longer available.

Roussette · 19/01/2023 14:02

If posters on here want to believe that the RF, their aides, and those that work for them, have no say on what is put out, perhaps read the article I linked to earlier on.

The WhatsApp group between Palace Staff and the BBC, ITV and Sky executives. They had to run past footage with the Palace who would then either yay or nay it.

Not sure why anyone is disputing that when there are lots of sources saying this.

Here's another one. No Mike Tindall looking at his watch during the funeral or Charles and the inkwell.

Before anyone says... ahhh, but it's out there. Yes it is, because people had the foresight to archive it themselves on Youtube. But broadcasters are only allowed to keep 12 minutes of the funeral and 12 minutes of the commital service.

babsanderson · 19/01/2023 14:14

And youtube has removed other footage of the Royal Family. I remember some Royalists disputing some facts about what a member of the Royal Family had done when filmed. It had been in various articles but hosted on youtube. The video could not find it anywhere until it was found on one tweet where someone had archived it.

This happens all the time. And yet we are mocked for noticing what is actually happening. Sometimes it is like 1984 around here.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 19/01/2023 14:17

To be fair to Zara, in that Express article she says 'It was just the general amount of time everything was taking. I think my face was probably caught at the point when I thought 'Right he's going to finish now' and then he went off on another little story and it was like, "Really?'"

I can remember when I was watching it I felt exactly the same. I needed a wee and thought oh I'll just wait until it finishes. In the end I gave up and went for my wee unlike poor Zara. As I recall the speech was very repetitive.

Anyway, why the sudden focus on Z and M, they're not royals are they?

babsanderson · 19/01/2023 14:25

@Sweetpeasaremadeforbees Maybe it was. But Zara can say anything she wants as we can't watch the original footage to see for ourselves.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 19/01/2023 14:27

It sounds to me as if Zara is admitting it herself, no video needed!

She's admitting she found it long winded and kept hoping it would move on, that's not really the same as the racist insinuations made that it was about him specifically. She's saying look I was uncomfortable, heavily pregnant, needed a pee and everyone kept going on and on!

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 19/01/2023 14:38

Well exactly. Is anyone suggesting that she was being racist?
