I've caught a few items on the news about this pair. They seem to be ramping up their public presence in a rather strange way. Salacious and attention seeking. What is going on?

But broadcasters are only allowed to keep 12 minutes of the funeral and 12 minutes of the commital service.

Right to privacy and a family life Roussette. Just because you want to keep images of a family’s individual actions at a funeral (why?) doesn’t mean you have the right to.

It was a State occasion, not a private family funeral.

Former Editor of ITN says this, which sums it up for me really

Speaking to LBC, Purvis said he was worried the monarchy has claimed the ability to take footage out of circulation once it has already been broadcast.
He said: “Once it’s been transmitted, once we recorded in our own homes and our own video recorders and suddenly we’re being told that certain sequences didn’t happen, we can’t show them again and it’s just unrealistic.
“There’s no other way of interpreting that than effectively not censorship but basically self-censorship. It was wonderful coverage and I think the palace will reflect that they have made a mistake.”

Harry & Meghan's wedding (full ceremony):

QEII funeral (full ceremony):

Can the posters who complained that all available footage had been edited clarify, if the videos linked above are also missing the scenes that are being discussed on here?

Mumsnet have a cap on the file size of what you try to upload, even a high quality photo can exceed the limit much less a video.

it’s probably a traffic and speed issue

babsanderson · 19/01/2023 15:43

@RedCatWhoGotTheCream Thanks for that. I will watch this weekend and see. I have already watched a bit of the wedding and seen Beatrice and Eugenie smirk at the preacher - very rude.

Everyone up and down the country was making faces

Omg he started out well but just went on
and on. It got embarrassing at the end.

babsanderson · 19/01/2023 16:08

@Gilmorehill Whether you liked his sermon or not is immaterial. You do not smirk and make faces at a couples wedding. And this wedding was televised. The Queen and Philip just sat there expressionless. Politeness is the first rule in a case like this.

Serenster · 19/01/2023 16:39

It was a State occasion, not a private family funeral.

It was both a state occasional and a family funeral. You don’t need to film close ups of the facial expressions of the family in order to capture the state aspects of the event for posterity.

Serenster · 19/01/2023 16:41

Do you also think it’s unacceptable censorship for the shots of Lady Louise’s underpants, visible as she walked up the steps of St George’s chapel to Eugenie’s wedding when a particularly strong gust of wind blew around her, to have been edited out of the coverage?

I'm not interested in family facial expressions, it's the whole thing which lasted very many hours I'm talking about.

Ditto Louise, not interested, she's a young girl and I don't want to see that because it's not right.

Sorry I didn’t realise we were tr writing history

Best leave that to Harry

Blossomtoes · 19/01/2023 22:50

Wow, this is still going. The Queen and Prince Philip had faces like slapped arses, I’m not sure that’s any better. I don’t blame any of them, I openly admit to being in fits of laughter by the end of that sermon. I’m just glad I wasn’t there.

Same!! People just couldn't believe he was still wittering on!

The Queen and Prince Philip were masters at disguising their feelings, and neither of them was heavily pregnant as well!!

I'm obviously not as techy as you, I bow to your superior knowledge lol

No earth shattering image to post. The moment has passed. It was when I was on a thread yesterday, and it's moved on since then.

It's a Google problem (late to the party I know)

It's the type of file that Google uses to save space. (I Googled)

Nothing to do with MN or the RF

Is this how Conspiracy Theories start?
