Just read this on Twitter

Any communication between the Sussexs and the institution will be by the Law firm representing the Royal family.

Harry can no longer get through to his father, brother, not even their aides.

All communications is now via the palace lawyers.

Selectively publishing a text exchange with Kate was terribly invasive and unfair. That she held onto those texts for years tells me everything I need to know about early intentions. Once again, it's goading another woman whom you believe is unable to respond directly.

‘The Duke says that he wants to repair the relationship with his father and brother. He is either completely disingenuous, or an idiot. Whatever feelings the King and Prince have for him personally, there is no possibility they will have any conversation with him while knowing that his account of it will be promptly sold to the highest bidder for broadcast. Nobody would.’

The Spectator review of Spare

Well quite. I'm not sure if they'd even trust him years from now. Who would? He could be fine for a couple of years, and then go off on one again when offended by some slight. The level of pettiness he's showing is monumental, and I don't think that aspect of his personality will ever change. I don't think they have any choice but to go NC, otherwise they just give me more fuel.

Sagharbor · 10/01/2023 11:37

@caringcarer

Why would you think that?

Harry has actually said he does not see himself back with the firm.

jtaeapa · 10/01/2023 11:40

It’s fake!

That's a response from the palace, then. As opposed to a statement, IYSWIM.

If it's true then it treats the Markles with the contempt they deserve. Well done BP

I don't blame Harry. His family made his mothers life hell. His stepmother the reason the marriage ended. His mum dies, father does not seem to step up. He does everything with wills and Kate. Meets someone who they don't try with by the sounds of it, meanwhile they all leak stories about him and his wife to make them look better and don't defend the fake news.

I'm surprised he didn't tell them all to sod off sooner. If he'd come on here stating everything that had happened you'd all be saying go no contact. He is saying he's had enough with the press, the establishment and while he wants a relationship with his family it will be on his terms now. His family is now his wife and children.

All seems pretty admirable to me.

And he made it clear he wants to reconcile with the family not the institution but they (as in rest of rf) find it hard to separate family and institution. No wonder they do all the formalities behind closed doors when most of us assumed they didn't!

Honestly who wants to live like that being formal behind closed doors, never really being yourself.

Harry has no chance now.

I expect William and Kate are relieved they were so formal now, it has been very protective, I can't imagine what would have happened had they relaxed and been themselves and shared real intimacies and secrets - the fall out from Harry selling it to the world would have been even worse.

This story 'leaked' as MM making Kate cry. It didn't originally come from the Sussexes. They were not the ones to put this story into the public domain. It ws all well while MM's name was being dragged through the press as the villain.

When the Sussexes responded in kind ie publicly - its think of 'poor Charlotte'.

How was Charlotte targeted?, the tights incident?

Pudmyboy · 10/01/2023 11:56

That doesn't look like an official site for the Firm, no blue tick and bit of an odd name given who it is meant to be about......bit bogus?

Whatnextarghhhhhh · 10/01/2023 12:01

I very much doubt this is true, but if it is I can’t really blame them. Doesn’t it mean any communication would become legally privileged and therefore can’t be included in the next book?

stormywaves · 10/01/2023 12:07

Probably for the best - keeps things plain and simple.

Pottyaboutplants · 10/01/2023 12:09

How was Charlotte targeted?, the tights incident?

Yes. Another 'leak'. Then more came out that Kate said the dress was too long and too big and had to be altered by the royal dressmakers - this was said in refute for the tights story.

There are no winners here. I don't feel sorry for any 'side'. They are all as bad as one another. But it is interesting and gossipy to read about the internal workings of the institution for a group of over privileged, wealthy beyond belief and there only because they were born into it, spoilt family. It gives some people a change to tug their forelocks and wave flags and others a break from worrying about how they will heat their homes!

Wow that speaks volumes . "Dad can't come to phone right now ' you'll be put through to his Lawyer ." Ouch .

'Dad' is doing exactly the right thing with the petulant brat, he must be wishing that Hewitt had been the sperm donor.

There must be a point where you think sod being free content for a family member and try to get privacy

JudgeJ · 10/01/2023 12:11

Swissmountains · 10/01/2023 09:21

Yes it is going to be very expensive for the successes going forward, as they won't win the legal case here.

And of course it will be anybody's fault but his.

No, that’s not how privilege works.

Pottyaboutplants · 10/01/2023 12:13

Seriously engage your brains folks. Don't believe everything you read!

H2bow · 10/01/2023 12:15

Can't blame them, to be honest this happens now and then for 'regular' people as well ie people with their exes when they need to communicate about children, if there are issues sometimes all comms go via a 3rd party.

JudgeJ · 10/01/2023 12:17

Spectre8 · 10/01/2023 09:24

As a parent I would never of let it get to the stage my child had to leave the country. I would of worked with them to let then have their half in and out solution

No reason why they should have pandered to him and his whims. Are you not conversant with the saying 'give his an inch and he'll take a mile'? They, the markles, would never have been satisfied with any accommodation made by the RF, the outcome was probably the one thing they never anticipated, well done to Her late Majesty.

JudgeJ · 10/01/2023 12:19

BradfordGirl · 10/01/2023 09:37

So the Royal Family have gone no contact with Harry.

On MN people are advised to go No Contact for far more trivial reasons, eg my MIL gave me a funny look!

Scotty12 · 10/01/2023 12:21

Good call by RF.

Badger1970 · 10/01/2023 12:23

Given the spelling, I highly doubt this is genuine ...

Fake news.

Usern0463633 · 10/01/2023 12:24

I'm in the middle. I am a bit of royalist but I can see Harry's POV and I do feel for him. But I feel it's typical of the royal family to hide from their problems and hope it goes away? I guess they can't speak out like Harry can...
