All contact for Sussexes now via lawyers

Just read this on Twitter

Any communication between the Sussexs and the institution will be by the Law firm representing the Royal family.

Harry can no longer get through to his father, brother, not even their aides.

All communications is now via the palace lawyers.

I’m not sure this Twitter post actually says that - or is written by anyone with insider knowledge.

lawyers will talk to lawyers and that will cost a pretty penny. We won't be talking high street solicitors here either. Minimum £500 per hour I'd say.

The Sussexes can speak to lawyers themselves, they wouldn't need to go through a lawyer. Although I am nit sure i am willing to rely on the twitter post as truth.

Livelovebehappy · 10/01/2023 09:02

Good move by the RF. They don’t have to do anything as regards to any response. Harry is destroying his character on his own, and is going down in flames. Silence is golden in this situation. Hope this toxic couple disappear into oblivion with the money he’s earned by selling his soul to the devil…

Swissmountains · 10/01/2023 09:03

Kate and William's children are old enough to be aware of the damaging attacks on them, Charlotte especially has been singled out.

There is no way on god's earth I would allow anyone to use my child, in this way, on a global stage like a tennis ball by their own uncle and be exploited and embarrassed like this. What parent would ever stand by and allow this?

Charlotte has to go to school, and face all of the publicity herself. She is very young.
The fact the sussexes brought her into this at all was another way to hurt and attack William.

Going for someone's defenceless young kids is NEVER a good idea, and I suggest it has indeed been the last straw.

Serenster · 10/01/2023 09:03

I think this is overblown. Someone on twitter is extrapolating based on one fact. The Communication Team has told ABC News that queries about one of its interview with Harry should go through their lawyers. That is true.

There has been no statement, however, and there’s nothing to suggest, that this refers to all communications, including communications from the family themselves.

(Meghan and Harry wouldn’t have to engage their own lawyers to talk to someone else’s lawyers unless they chose to, that’s not how it works)

LegoAmies · 10/01/2023 09:04

Fake news.

Harry being escorted by armed body guards on his way to yet another interview bitching session and all his staff looking around nervously is faux as well. What a puerile spectacle.

StarsSand · 10/01/2023 09:06

@Swissmountains

If they don't want to invite them to garden parties etc they can simply not invite them.

Why do lawyers need to be involved?!

Sometimes bringing a lawyer in, or threatening to, just escalates things and makes it worse.

Harry's entitled to his opinions. There's no legal issue here.

flapjackfairy · 10/01/2023 09:07

well iF this is true what other choice do they have. The have to protect themselves from the constant half truths and lies that are constantly being made.
The main damage from the OW interview was the allegation that the family were racist and had rejected titles for Archie due to his skin tone. Now however they never said that they claim and yet they have received an award in America for challenging racism in the RF ! It is batshit!
they cant even keep their story straight between interviews so how can anyone deal with that .

Sandra1984 · 10/01/2023 09:07

yes, and Royals have asked for the full unedited interviews to the different American channels and they are all laughing at them 😂

CPL593H · 10/01/2023 09:08

If this is the case, it is the RF saying something without the RF saying anything.

Sandra1984 · 10/01/2023 09:08

Sorry, I meant "lawyers for the royal family" have asked for the unedited interviews.

Exactly

Weird anonymous twitter account

It's about BP/KP response to ABCs request for comment on interveiw

Nothing at all to do with the Sussexes communicating with the RF

CoffeeBoy · 10/01/2023 09:09

Out of interest did the Sussexes wish Kate a happy birthday on social media the other day? That’s normally a done thing with the royals. Just wondering how much the relationship has broken down

He's pissed off the Taliban, remember.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/01/2023 08:37

Presumably the Sussexes' lawyers will contact the royal lawyers - which will cost the Sussexes each time

Hopefully the Sussexs will be footing their own legal bill🤣
You don't mess with the Palace as we have seen time & time again. Fight the good fight Charles & put those two fools back in their place.
Harry should know well one does not take on the monarchy, they have the toughest team behind them & all the best advisors &, financial backing they could need.
Excellent move from the Palace & hopefully it hurts the Sussex pair where they feel it most.. Their pockets! The bottom line might not be looking too hefty after the book now😂😂😂

Abccde · 10/01/2023 09:13

Forgive me if I am daft. But is this not in a response to the ABC Interview?

Now I wouldn't blame Charles and William if they stopped communicating with Harry, but that would surely remain private, well Charles and William wouldn't tell tales.

Crabo · 10/01/2023 09:13

Just to make it clear:
The Royal family’s lawyers asked a US broadcaster to hand over the Duke of Sussex’s latest interview, as he expressed concern for royal children and suggested that Queen Elizabeth II was powerless to help him.
A legal firm acting for Buckingham Palace contacted ABC while the Duke’s Good Morning America interview was on air, saying it needed to consider exactly what was said and “the context in which it appears” in order to have the opportunity to respond.
Royal sources insisted it was a standard “right of reply” letter, but it raised the prospect that they were concerned about something specific that the Duke may have said.

Who's paying for the bodyguards?

BabyFour2023 · 10/01/2023 09:14

Brilliant and sensible move by the RF.

Oh for heavens sake isn't it obvious?

They now need lawyers because Harry and Meghan are selling and sharing personal texts, phone calls etc between family members with the whole world. As a bare minimum, putting personal ethics aside, it is a security breach and risk.
What else are the sussexes going to share? Security details, contingencies etc. They certainly can no longer be trusted.

Harry has breached the military code about body counts and put the whole country at risk/heightened security issues around personnel. Harry only now seems to belatedly realise this, and now has an 'armed' guard.

Of course they now can not directly speak or message the sussexes again, as it could be sold and shared publicly. Everything will go through the lawyers from now on so it can not be misconstrued or used against them.

This is not about garden parties, I was being sarcastic, this is about safety. It is about security breaches and recognising Harry is very dangerous and can no longer be trusted in any shape or form.

I fail to see how things can get any worse, thanks to Harry.

whynotwhatknot · 10/01/2023 09:15

cant say i blame them but whinge will twist it to make it look like once again they havent done a thing wrong

blobby10 · 10/01/2023 09:15

I also cannot see how this has been twisted to no contact between the families. Like PP have said, it was a direct response from BP legal team (and a very sensible one IMO) saying we can't comment on specific words, let us see the whole transcript to confirm context.

Motorina · 10/01/2023 09:15

Come on. It's an anonymous twitter feed that even a cursory glance shows has a clear agenda. It's about as reliable a source as a pickled egg.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 10/01/2023 09:16

You don't mess with the Palace as we have seen time & time again

I said right at the start that BP has generations of experience in handling dodgy family members and PH will not win this one.

He needs armed guards now after his taliban comments!
