I'm feeling a bit sorry for Harry

ssd · 06/01/2023 12:21

I feel like he needs his mum more than ever. To put an arm round him and say "enough son".

He needs guidance, he's never had maternal guidance. Its well documented that Williams life has been really enhanced by Kates parents. Harry has never had that and i feel sorry for him.

To be fair, it sounds as though you are just as invested.

And those words read like your words now. 😊

Cowparslee · 19/05/2023 12:39

I think the 'no one had been in touch from the RF' to me is another big clue to behind the motives for these shenanigans.

In the same way we're now having 'security alerts' around their Californian mansion being played up.

Yes, no doubt it would have been very useful to them if the RF had responded.

Then Scobie's tweet could have read, "HRH the King has been in touch with his son Harry and expressed concerns about his safety... blah blah"

That won't be happening!

ArcaneWireless · 19/05/2023 12:40

If they have any sense, their security team/advisors need to be given their jotters.

They should be asking some of their high profile friends for security recommendations. And spokesperson recommendations.

Or the new agency could maybe suggest something?

Unless this was merely for column inches or a guilt trip for KC as mentioned above, it has maybe not had the response they thought they should or would get.

Cowparslee · 19/05/2023 12:40

Or probably His Majesty the King

TrashyPanda · 19/05/2023 12:46

It’s backfired spectacularly on them.

Not a bit bothered. What's interesting is seeing how the mask slips sometimes on these threads. The level and depth of contempt and hate, the attempts at diversion and deflection, the lectures on how POC should feel at the often barely disguised and sometimes full on racism, even going as far as requesting MN to tell us how we should behave when it comes to racism and challenging it. Most of those telling others have stated they are white.
I have read the comments for a long time and stayed quiet but they seem to be escalating so therefore I comment. Usually I let others challenge but having witnessed pile-ons on 2 posters in the past week I commented. Ironically one poster challenged me yesterday because I am not a regular poster or some similar nonsense.

One poster on here was telling us that the nazis were only human and not to forget that they were just a son or brother to another person.

Apparently that's not sympathising with nazis.

Taliban are a okay too don't forget. They may execute people but they're only human .

ArcaneWireless · 19/05/2023 13:50

Arguably, one of the worst comments I have seen on here was yesterday. I won’t repeat it.

And others here are the absolute example of diversion and distraction.

Having been accused of all sorts in the last week when merely disagreeing or agreeing with a post, I’ve seen how words can be twisted to suit a particular narrative.

I report racists posts when I see them. I question if someone has maybe worded something very badly. If of course I see them. I don’t always as my life, like most folk, can be hectic.

But I personally don’t like accusations of racism flying around as I do believe it minimises daily experiences. I cannot take offence at absolutely everything - I’d never get out the front door.

I dislike the narrative that most people dislike or disagree with Meghan simply because of her skin colour. I don’t believe that.

I don’t like how things have transpired - my opinion. And you then see any criticism of the interview content or similar being swatted down with cries of ‘you haters - it is because she is brown’.

In that case I must hate myself every time I go by a mirror. Some of my family. Friends.

That isn’t me. It isn’t the vast majority of people here. I don’t think this place is full of contempt or hate.

But then I’m not brown enough according to some so maybe I don’t know.

I was in a remote part of Pakistan in the mid-90s when a convoy of AK-47 air popping Taliban drive through the town and they are terrifying. And that was when the Taliban were called the good guys.

I’d love to read an AMA about your time there.

ArcaneWireless · 19/05/2023 14:16

I didn’t see anyone saying the Taliban and Nazis were a-ok.

Nor did I see anyone sympathising with their deeds.

What I took from those posts was that some people do bloody awful things. And yes, they may do awful things but they will have had people who love them.

If we start dehumanising them and calling them chess pieces etc as we kill them, how does that make us any better?

Some people do awful things out of evil or choice. Some do it to survive, knowing if they refuse they or those they love will be killed. Some do it to protect others alongside them. Some do it because they have been coerced or threatened or promised a beautiful hereafter.

We can either choose to see things how they were meant or twist it to make it seem like something else all together.

I think I know what most of us here prefer to do.

ArcaneWireless · 19/05/2023 14:23

Same as AliceOlive

I too think that would be a fascinating AMA Sunscummailfail

polkadotdalmation · 19/05/2023 14:57

@kirinm you were deleted yesterday for twisting my words and my post. You're doing it again. You know I said nothing of the sort. If that were the case my posts would have been deleted. Not one was. Yours was. They are still here to refute your lies about what I said.

Sunscummailfail · 19/05/2023 15:19

Lol, it wasn’t that interesting. I decided to go overland from (then) Calcutta / Kolkata back to London and spent a few weeks in Pakistani before going through Iran which, I have to say, remains one of the best countries I’ve been to, even though the government and women’s rights (or lack of) stinks. Back in the 1990s the Iranian girls in Tehran could get away with pushing their headscarves to the top of their heads and they wore a LOT of makeup. Their rights are been even more eroded now which is heartbreaking.

The funniest thing happened in Pakistan, though, in Quetta which is very traditional. My then husband and I were in search of a restaurant with a Family Room and the town was quite busy with a lot of shouting. Ex H crossed the road with no warning and left me by myself. I called out to him to stop and he looked back to shout expletives to me (yes, we did split up when we got home) and because he wasn’t looking where he was going he fell into an open storm drain and got covered in sh. I still laugh about it to this day.

Presume that's for me? And?????
BTW I replied to your scepticism yesterday pointing you towards the racist post and the support it received - not lies.
Yet another attempt in your response to exclude those who don't agree and try to challenge posts and narrative they find offensive.
It's a sad reflection that concerns observed can be dismissed by labelling them 'hyperbole and utter lies' when the evidence is there, much of it on this thread.

How funny!!

I think Persian people are lovely and I regularly lament what has happened there. Never been, but have family that spent time there a long, long time ago.

jeffgoldblum · 19/05/2023 15:51

I've not seen any of this evidence!
Also if you or anyone bothered to check my posting history it would show your are talking complete rubbish!
I invite all to have a look ! Please do!

Lots of exclamation marks there. You OK? Just for the record. You challenged a post of mine yesterday, I replied indicating where the racist post was (now removed) the person who supported it, you were insulting in your response with 'unknown poster new to a thread diatribe, I responded maybe

unbelieveable22 · 19/05/2023 16:34

Pressed post too soon. @jeffgoldblum you challenged me yesterday, I responded. You tried again today and I did likewise. Enjoy your weekend.

jeffgoldblum · 19/05/2023 16:40

@unbelieveable22 , I'm too polite to say what I'm really thinking, however I do think your talking complete and utter rubbish.
And if you make an accusation you should have proof or stop posting nonsense.

Shameful, isn't it?

Indeed @Maireas , 👋 by the way , I'm sorry I didn't pm you that time , it's working now but I've long since forgotten what it was! 🤣
