I'm feeling a bit sorry for Harry

1000 replies

ssd · 06/01/2023 12:21

I feel like he needs his mum more than ever. To put an arm round him and say "enough son".

He needs guidance, he's never had maternal guidance. Its well documented that Williams life has been really enhanced by Kates parents. Harry has never had that and i feel sorry for him.

@mixedrecycling Your experience and clear love for you child and your/her birth country shines through. Honestly some people are nasty just for the sake of it, and I don't get it, I really don't. To me your experience, like anyone's experience, is unique and valuable. I couldn't believe the nastiness you were receiving and the gaslighting around your DDs life and experience. She sounds brilliant and with her head in the right place. You've every right to be a proud mum

She's amazing!

And we have so many wonderful people from her extended birth family and ex-colleagues from her birth community who are there for her.

I am incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to become, through DD, a small part of her birth community and get a glimpse into a very different experience of life.

@mixedrecycling

Re your post at 1937 today, I have contacted HQ this week regarding the same thing.

To be fair, I was acknowledged - by two people. I do not know if any action has been taken. With that or the troll hunting I highlighted. It would seem not.

I don’t care to be shut down with claims of racism and I don’t care to see it done to others. Likewise with claims of bullying, nastiness or whatever else.

I don’t care to see words twisted to discredit posters either. It seems to be a recurring theme.

You are right - it does trivialise matters. And that is the biggest shame of all.

Maireas · 18/05/2023 20:36

Trivialising such a serious issue is the worst part. Many of us on here know only too well the damage that racism can do. A child is a gift, @mixedrecycling , and you sound as if you cherish yours, that is all that matters.

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 20:41

Racism matters.

DD (as a teen girl) has been racially abused by an adult male on the bus on the way to school.

She has been excluded from a dance school because of racist complaints.

It is completely wrong on so many levels that she has to learn how to deal with that.

To use racism as a way of winning an argument devalues her (and others) experiences of the day to day impact of racism, let alone the structural racist barriers in her way in life.

Using racism to shut down discussion is disgusting, because it devalues the daily experience of POC.

@unbelieveable22 You are coming across as quite aggressive seeing as mixedrecycling knows all about mixed race families. The clue is in the name

Not aggressive in the slightest. I would define aggressive as addressing anyone, but in this case it was H&M as 'disgusting individuals ' or telling them 'to piss off to Monteshitshow'. Surely most would agree that kind of narrative shows real anger. Other phrases pop up from time to time but you get the picture. To the best of my knowledge mixed recycling is white but I will accept that you know better.

@jeffgoldblum
I wasn't aware there was a protocol for posting here. My humblest apologies and I promise I will know my place in future. I'm just posting here now in response to you and others. The thread I referred to was if I remember correctly was 'where now for the Sussexes ' Title may not be 100% but it reached 1000 posts. The racist comment was removed very quickly but it was as said. Mixed recycling supported the post and poster. Like you, l, and I am sure others read and watch and sometimes the baiting gets too much. When 'others' tell POC how they should think or interpret then usually there will be a response. Indeed it is upsetting when the same white posters pop up 'warning' others they will be accused of racism. Shutting people down is never acceptable.

Thank you to whoever reported my post. It wasn't offensive or untrue, it was factual and honest. When I read what gets left here it reminds me that all that I have to do is scratch the surface.

Haywirecity · 18/05/2023 20:48

Howsimplywonderful · 18/05/2023 19:54

Some posters just can’t understand that posters don’t like her as a self absorbed, humourless, word salad, super woke , exaggerating, californian.

If Harry had married Gwyneth Paltrow, I’d also be eye-rolling and laughing if she made statements like ‘be the visionary of your own life’ and insisted she was trapped in the palace etc

I'll just say, conscious uncoupling. 🙄 😆
Well before Meghan.

Couldn't agree more that trivialising such a serious issue is the worst part.
White posters telling people of colour how they should define racism is wrong and deeply offensive.

Then raise it with @MNHQ for deleting it.

I am white - and? I don't endorse 'Monteshitshow' and have posted against similar 'word play' including me-gain and con-an-anation. Used by over-involved people on both sides.

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 20:57

White posters telling people of colour how they should define racism is wrong and deeply offensive.

Then define it.

But not as 'anyone who disagrees with me', because that trivialises the very real impact of racism on everyday lives

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 21:38

Please @MNHQ let us know how you will respond to multiple accusations of racism, when you don't agree posts are racist?

Is there a point at which you will address false accusations?

polkadotdalmation · 18/05/2023 21:50

And ... not anyone who finds Meghan (and Harry) liars, self aggrandising, disloyal, superficial, entitled and tone deaf individuals. I have plenty of other negative adjectives I could use to describe them, but none of them include comments on how she looks/her figure/his appearance or her skin colour. I also don't use the word hate (I reserve that for one of my shitty bosses), but I despise them for their monetising of the royal family, who did nothing but welcome harrys wife into the family, yet have had both of them drag their names and their reputation through the mud. Along with half the country.

I can answer this as I emailed them. The answer is to delete posts that break talk guidelines. It appears they don't look at context and they don't look at tone.

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 21:54

OK. So accusations of racism are fine, no matter whether they are reasonable or not.

Useful to know.

I look forward to being able to accuse anyone and everyone of racism without being deleted or banned by @MNHQ!

I honestly think you need to calm down about them and let them get on with their lives, much as you dislike it

From someone who says the 'attacks' on H&M are less important than the Holocaust?

Really?

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 21:58

Sorry,more important. Couldn't quite believe @Roussette 's position!

'Accusations ' - MN now being asked to define what is racist? POC know your place. MN will set you straight. They will tell you how you can and can't feel and interpret what you deem as offensive.

The level of deflection and superiority (in their own minds) here is astonishing. As I said previously scratch the surface.

polkadotdalmation · 18/05/2023 22:04

Rousette knows I don't respond to her continuous attacks and references to my posts. She clearly can't understand that I also have a right to an opinion, and is attempting to infantilise and patronise me with talk of 'calm down dear', in the hope I'll respond in kind and get deleted.

mixedrecycling · 18/05/2023 22:07

I, and other posters, have been accused of being racist so many times for not believing H&M 100%.

@MNHQ has not deleted any of my posts for racism (or any other reason).

If you don't agree with MN then don't post here. If you do, then accept MNHQ's decisions re: what is racist.

polkadotdalmation · 18/05/2023 22:09

In fact the only people I've ever heard say 'calm down' to a woman, are men. It's a typical misogynistic phrase 🤔

Well,@Roussette 's views about H&M's 'victimisation' being as bad as the Holocaust have become clear 😮

I didn't use the word 'dear'. That's patronising.

You just sound so angry.

I think everyone has a right to an opinion, especially since much of our opinions are formed based on information that both H and M have willingly stated in interviews and books that they have chosen to impart their views and thoughts and feelings and put them into the public domain.

By so publicly expressing what they have chosen to say it’s inevitable that other people then comment and form opinions.

The latest exaggeration from their spokesman has led to a lot of comments both here and in the States both from relevant authorities and the media. It was wholly unnecessary. Nobody is condoning the paparazzi and their part but why put out such a statement in the first place.
