Prince Harry reveals that he killed 25 people in Afghanistan. He did not think of the 25 as ‘people’ but as ‘chess pieces’

Of all the idiotic and stupid things to say this has to be his worst yet. I have some close members of my family in the forces and none of them ever discusses whom they may have killed in conflict, no matter the circumstances.

This is a massive no no. I honestly believe he has crossed the line on so many levels now. Next time he cries about his security he needs to have a long hard think after this.

I'm in awe at his stupidity now 😳

I think he's opened up far too much in this book and it may well destroy him.

But these people were terrorists and murderers. He was sent there to kill them. I'm not exactly upset they were killed.

Maybe the fact that military personnel never talk about this part of their job isn't healthy? They shouldn't feel shame. We shouldn't be shaming them. Sending them off to kill people on our behalf. Saving our lives and our freedom. Then tell them what they did was shameful and should never be spoken about. That can't possibly be good for their mental health at all. I think maybe he's trying to break the stigma of it but he's very much just stuck his neck out.

I worry about him. I think he's very damaged by his upbringing.

"That is our case for why we need a lot of paid security" Bow.

He talked about killing people in 2013.

And those big metal gadgets full of lethal bits of metal that they carry.... They do use them, they are paid to.

I know. By that logic then, should there be much uproar about this claim then? If we all knew what he was doing there? Maybe we should be thankful it was 25 and not 250.

LadyWiddiothethird · 05/01/2023 17:01

I am ex-Army,the “Grey Mafia”.Harry is lying,so nothing new.He needs treatment for his mental health.

JenniferBarkley · 05/01/2023 17:03

Nymeria6 · 05/01/2023 16:42

Why would you even count them???

If you're going to take a job that involves killing people, surely better to count them and recognise that than "err, lots".

bakalava · 05/01/2023 17:03

Well, deliver him back into the bosom of Albion and we'll do our best to rehabilitate him. It's not going to happen while he is imprisoned out there. 😃

Idk, ask the people who are in uproar about it, I guess.

Many people like to glorify the armed services, but not acknowledge what they actually do over there.

So I'm not surprised by the fact, but I am surprised to hear a soldier honestly admit it.

I suppose also the Queen was rare in being one of the few people on the top rung who was willing to commit her own family to do the killing, and potentially the dying.

Throwncrumbs · 05/01/2023 17:07

He is a fantasist, he spent most of his time in Afghanistan inside a tent, playing a PlayStation, according to real soldiers that were there. He is bonkers. He is an idiot!

Your post implies conscription rather than voluntary enlisting. It's a long time since people could claim innocence of the fact that joining the armed forces means being sent to kill people, often for reasons of dubious morality.

Yes.

Edward left, and I think William and Harry had more freedom than generations before.

Yes.

Edward left, and I think William and Harry had more freedom than generations before.

He also would've been allowed a position like William's - joining but never seeing active service.

toocold54 · 05/01/2023 17:11

Isn't that what soldiers are paid to do? Go into other people's lands and kill them?

I'm more offended by that fact, than by one soldier's honesty.

I agree.

I’m glad he’s actually being honest as so many people in the military aren’t and everyone else buries their head in the sand and acts like our forces don’t go and kill people all of the time.

The amount of homeless people, drug users, prisoners, people with MH issues etc who are ex forces are massive and a big part of that is not talking honestly about it and then their PTSD goes untreated.

NewStartIn50s · 05/01/2023 17:12

If one of the 25 Afghans family or friends or supporters goes after H then it will be W&K fault of course.

H is a brainless tool. He probably thought it was big and clever and made him look brave to say he killed people. His judgement is off - yet again.

bakalava · 05/01/2023 17:13

What was that you were saying about genetic pain, Harry? 😐

Willyoujustbequiet · 05/01/2023 17:14

Well done, just put a target on your kids you utter self absorbed idiot.

DarkDayforMN · 05/01/2023 17:14

Yes but counting them/keeping score is a bit psycho isn't it?

No time for Harry and it clearly wasn't a good move on his part to say this, but I think it would be much weirder not to know how many people you've killed.

Agree with @rumship. Its not something that AF personnel do; keep a running tally and announce it in public. Seceral close friends served in Afghanistand and Iraq, and its not discussed. Just understood. Spill your family's private life if you want but you dont do this.

BubziOwl · 05/01/2023 17:18

I'm a filthy hippy and despise all war. I've never been a soldier, so I won't comment on what a soldier thinks in order to cope.

But I'm surprised at all the "so what?" comments on the thread - even if you're not offended, surely it's obvious that what he's said is a huge security risk for himself and his family?! I'm shocked tbh

NewStartIn50s · 05/01/2023 17:18

Oops - i posted a link to a new crowd fund page set up to raise money for H and a new dog bowl. It was not approved... sorry H for the pain and suffering - I'd donate a few quid for a new bowl but you appear to have plenty of money from selling your family and I have an energy bill to pay

MM was the honeytrap to get him on board and she has been handsomely rewarded. The puppet masters are the bigwigs, It is well known.

Can you explain more please @bbakalava

SomeonesKnockingAtTheDoorSomeonesRingingTheBell · 05/01/2023 17:19

So H killed 25, was in the Army for years, yet is slung into a dog bowl by his brother! Wow, William must really be something!

Never thought of W being such a tough guy

Cherryblossoms85 · 05/01/2023 17:24

Is this his incredibly high risk way of forcing the government to pay for his security?

Mooshamoo · 05/01/2023 17:24

But sure all soldiers in war zones kill people. That is their job. You must be very naive if you think they are over there just looking at people.

I was on holiday in India once and I met the nicest man in my hotel. He was genuinely lovely. He told me he had been in the UK army. He told me he had killed 10 people in Afghanistan. Just by Looking at him, you wouldn't have thought it. When be talked to me about killing people he also described himself as a pawn in a chess game. He cried a little bit about it. He was troubled about it.

But it is often either kill someone or be killed yourself.
