Prince Harry reveals that he killed 25 people in Afghanistan. He did not think of the 25 as ‘people’ but as ‘chess pieces’

Of all the idiotic and stupid things to say this has to be his worst yet. I have some close members of my family in the forces and none of them ever discusses whom they may have killed in conflict, no matter the circumstances.

This is a massive no no. I honestly believe he has crossed the line on so many levels now. Next time he cries about his security he needs to have a long hard think after this.

I'm in awe at his stupidity now 😳

The press have twisted his words as usual. Here is what Harry wrote in his book.

Funny how they sang the praises of this guy twitter.com/mrjamesob/status/1611352610996457473?t=falUxb9BLnhcbb2j8OBLUQ&s=19

but when it's Harry it's bad 🤔

This. Can't believe people were automatically jumping to psycho killer conclusions.

Coxspurplepippin · 07/01/2023 11:12

It's not 'psycho killer' conclusions. No-one is in any doubt that if you're front line military, at some point you will probably have to kill an enemy combatant.

What Harry has done is confirm he has done this, given the dead a number and vastly increased security problems for himself and his family. Considering one of the reasons they gave for leaving the UK was concern for the safety of their children it was a monumentally stupid thing to publish.

The Taliban and their supporters aren't known for their sensible, rational capabilities. Any excuse for a bit of murder and mayhem.

The press was hailing him as a hero in 2013 for killing Taliban twitter.com/Browne1Justin/status/1611641532838445056?t=vNFRVQAtBvpSRn3zx6Z_lA&s=19

All sheep who think how the press want you to think

Coxspurplepippin · 07/01/2023 11:48

Except those press stories weren't from the horse's mouth, didn't contain numbers, didn't refer to combatants as chess pieces and were written during an actual conflict.

At the time those stories were printed, the Taliban, and let's be honest, many others, thought (and derided him for it) Harry was sitting at the base playing computer games, being kept safe.

Harry has turned the spotlight on himself in a rather stupid and dangerous way.

TiddyTidTwo · 07/01/2023 19:07

Also previous articles from 2013 cannot be aligned with today. Today the taliban runs that country and is the government, unfortunately. Back then we were in "control"
To publish this now, if you can't see why it's different, the danger of it and to make excuses for that idiot, then I can't help you.

Caveat: I'm ex British military
