Meghan 'offended' for telling Kate she had 'baby brain'

Well, the Daily Fail have got their hands on a Spanish copy of the ''memoir'', so there is going to be shrapnel flying about from now until kingdom come.

One of these ''revelations'' is that Meghan made a joke about Kate having ''baby brain hormones'' a month after having Louis, which upset Kate, which in turn then upset Meghan.

Can you imagine the Oprah-style feeding frenzy had this been reversed - Kate telling Meghan that she had baby brain and hormones, which would have perfectly tapped into the villainous ice queen depiction that H&M are flogging right now?

Harry is soap operatising the royal family in the most sensational and tabloid dripfeed way possible (calling his brother his 'archnemesis'.

He is shockingly narcissistic, if he thinks this is not also going to also blow up on him and Meghan. The hypocrisy and whole thing is a shit show.

Being an accomplished public speaker is not synonymous with intelligence.
Frankly, I would expect Meghan to be better, as she was an actress and used to speaking her lines, etc.

bakalava · 06/01/2023 10:19

She's a good speaker for the after dinner circuit which requires the emotive soundbytes and little substance. It is as enjoyable to hear as reading a bunch of inspiring memes.

She likes to google for quotes which often indicates that somebody is not very well read as they do not flow into the presentation in the same way as quotes you have read within their context and remembered by heart.

She completely fell down in the podcast when she tried to engage in intellectual conversation. Upon that basis, she sounds more impressive than Kate who is dull and awkward.

I seriously think the family must be severely concerned about mental health. If this leak from the book is real, what?!?!

"He received two signs that he was going to be a first-time parent. The first one came when he and Meghan, 41, were in Scotland and stumbled upon a group of singing seals while boating.

Harry remembered his wife singing to the animals whom he claimed sang back. “She really is magic, I thought,” he wrote of the Suits alum in his book, Us Weekly can exclusively reveal. “Even the seals know it.” As the “seal opera” continued, the prince decided to count the moment as a “good omen” and stripped down, jumped in the water and swam toward them.

Also, Megyn Kelly on her show today featured an interview with Tom Bower talking about the Rose affair, which he doesn't believe happened.

Bower went on to to say that one of the reasons William was "incandescent with rage" towards Meghan was because she asked Catherine how it felt to have been cuckolded/betrayed by William and Rose. Go to the 36 minute mark of the video for the pertinent bit.

It's not in the book apparently, but gives a lot of content to the "fight" between the brothers and the lack of relationship between the couples.

Err watch videos of them speaking in public Meghan comes over all Presidential, accomplished and assured as for Kate you will struggle to find any and when you do let's just say the earth wasn't shattered.

"Presidential,accomplished and assured"?

I guess it depends how easily you are impressed by vapid "I'm so proud of you guys!" 'speeches', with a good helping of 'all about me 'for good measure.

Glossy on the surface, perhaps, but nothing of any substance.

I used to work with a really bright woman who was excellent at her job. She was not a good public speaker and always sounded nervous in front of a large crowd. She was however excellent when dealing one to one or in a small group.

Not everyone is a natural public speaker but you would certainly expect a trained actor to come over as confident in that situation.

What? Is this another weird translation from Spanish?

I don't think that's true at all - remember how she and Harry would always be laughing and larking around together before MM came on the scene?

steff13 · 06/01/2023 20:45

Since when is being a good public speaker indicative of intelligence?

bakalava · 06/01/2023 20:59

Nobody intelligent enough would go there, not for all the riches in the world.

cavalier · 07/01/2023 15:00

It depends on how she said it
the intonation etc …. We weren’t there ..: it all just smacks of jealousy of Kate being in the higher part of the pecking order

Are you all hate Meghan bots or what? Honestly it's all just so minor. It's the sort of thing my SIL would say to me, we would both laugh and we would certainly not be falling out about it.

It all depends on the relationship though doesn't it. It sounds like they were never close - which is fine, sometimes people just don't click and it's not anyone's fault, but to have someone you're not that close to make a comment like that could easily be a bit rude. If they'd been disagreeing and Kate had said "you're being unreasonable - is it that time of the month?" then that would be equally rude I think. But both could be something that two women who are very close to each other could say in a jokey way.

Well yes. So why the hell has Harry told the world about it?

paintitallover · 08/01/2023 09:12

I agree. You're all coming across as a bit obsessive.

AutumnCrow · 08/01/2023 09:36

Why would Harry put it up for discussion in his autobiography?

GooseberryCinnamonYogurt · 08/01/2023 11:34

Everyone is so sensitive these days. It's impossible to open your mouth and not offend some snowflake.

AutumnCrow · 08/01/2023 11:36

Harry seems offended by a lot of things.
