Meghan 'offended' for telling Kate she had 'baby brain'

Well, the Daily Fail have got their hands on a Spanish copy of the ''memoir'', so there is going to be shrapnel flying about from now until kingdom come.

One of these ''revelations'' is that Meghan made a joke about Kate having ''baby brain hormones'' a month after having Louis, which upset Kate, which in turn then upset Meghan.

Can you imagine the Oprah-style feeding frenzy had this been reversed - Kate telling Meghan that she had baby brain and hormones, which would have perfectly tapped into the villainous ice queen depiction that H&M are flogging right now?

Harry is soap operatising the royal family in the most sensational and tabloid dripfeed way possible (calling his brother his 'archnemesis'.

He is shockingly narcissistic, if he thinks this is not also going to also blow up on him and Meghan. The hypocrisy and whole thing is a shit show.

I'm on Meghan's side. Who cares about fucking tights on a little girl? And they didn't set the story straight about who made who cry. Kate and William were jealous of how well H and M did their tours. Anyway it's all over now, the charismatic ones have left, we're stuck with the dull adulterous ones. Ho hum.

We have no idea which of them cried. Also it could have been both.

Because it’s painful and uncomfortable if the shoes rub. Meghan was angry and saying children shouldn’t be “coddled”. Nasty.

Her mother.

goldismything · 05/01/2023 20:03

Meg now outed by her own husband to be the type to say 'oh I am sorry if you are upset!' Total gaslight.

Sad as I really liked her joining the RF and always had a soft spot for Harry.

I am not often duped but have been by this pair. How horrible for Kate/William to have to hear this shite but they only need to maintain a dignified silence as these idiots are clearly digging their own graves.

Legrandetraitor · 05/01/2023 20:04

Has anyone read the excerpt where Harry and Megs are fuming over their flat having ikea furniture (if you believe that) compared to wills and Kate having expensive art?

in particular how kate “mistakenly” thought meghan was after her fashion connections. “Mistaken”. Seems everyone was “mistaken” about meghan! Everyone else is wrong!

Well, I have small children, so I know that, yes. Also, Charlotte was wearing a dress with a full skirt which could easily blow up and show her knickers. Tights would help guard against that.

Here’s Charlotte at the wedding helpfully demonstrating in one picture these two good reasons for wearing tights - she’s tugging at her shoe and her skirt is lifted up.

@IcedPurple To be fair I think when I watched the Netflix documentary I cringed a lot because I just thought a lot of how she came across was very 'American actress' which she is but it just doesn't suit my sensibilities but then again it figures it didn't fit the expectations of the royals or her either. She being an American actress, I doubt anyone ever thought she'd have been happy with her lot in frogmore cottage watching Kate take all the shine. I don't think she would have ever fit in.

That little girl was three years old and about to be broadcast live to the whole world, wearing a skirt. I would absolutely want my daughter in tights in that situation, to minimise the risk of pictures of her underwear being sent to millions of people.

ganachee · 05/01/2023 20:07

Surely the point is not so much that telling Catherine she had "baby brain" was mean but that she had no sympathy for a tearful C who had only recently given birth and instead of being home resting and breastfeeding she had to wrangle small children for a fitting and deal with a bridezilla who sneered at her for being emotional. And then claimed victim status for being called out on it.

Agree. It puts M in a bad light who shows no sympathy and dismisses out of hand that her behaviour may have caused upset to someone else. It’s interesting that M and H both accuse others of doing what they say has been done to them. There is a lot of projecting going on with them and seemingly zero self reflection. The fact that H and M acknowledged K bought flowers and tried to smooth things over indicates who was the bigger person here.

I keep writing on here and following the saga even though I am finding it increasingly tedious. I wasn’t involved in these events as none of us were and so am not well informed but from what has been said so far - whilst also acknowledging when 2 previous siblings and a wife who got on ok fall out there will be some legitimate grievances on both sides, my money would be that I would think W and C behaved more reasonably. The whole thing is tawdry and sad.

The bit about them having IKEA furniture and comparing their home to W&K just sums up the issue - H&M are seething with envy.

BradfordGirl · 05/01/2023 20:07

I can assure you if someone getting married posted on MN that their SIL was getting upset because the 3 year old bridesmaids were not wearing tights, then people would support the bride.

Serenster · 05/01/2023 20:08

Millions saw poor Lady Louise Windsor’s knickers at Princess Eugenie’s wedding when her skirt blew up as she was walking up the chapel steps, so this is not a fanciful risk…

CurlyhairedAssassin · 05/01/2023 20:08

Well, no-one knows exactly the context in which this was said, do they, but are speculating, putting their own spin on it? It could just have been a throw-away comment - maybe Kate did or said something that was a little bit daft, like saying "oh, I thought we'd said that Charlotte would be wearing cream tights, we've organised cream ones" and the damned tights were supposed to be white, and that's what they'd agreed in an earlier conversation. Maybe Meghan made a foolish attempt to lighten the mood by saying "oh, don't worry about it, my friends say they were a bit like that for a while after having a baby - they said that it's called baby brain and that it's totally a thing. Could you sort some white tights, do you think?" etc etc. Maybe Kate took offence and saw it as a criticism/felt got at or whatever and got upset. And then Meghan felt bad for upsetting Kate by accident. Anyone who has inadvertently upset someone always feels upset themselves so I can imagine how this whole thing might have played out.

But it's all ifs, buts and maybes. Having said that, I supported H & M after their Netflix programme, but the stuff that is coming out today from this "Spanish translation" is so preposterous that, if it turns out to be very similar to the English version, I can't take anything that they do from now on seriously.

howmanybicycles · 05/01/2023 20:09

If you aren't close to someone (emotionally), it's a dick move to say anything at all about a baby brain. Harry has outed Meghan.

goldismything · 05/01/2023 20:09

'Kate js a white woman personified'

I hope this hateful nonsense gets reported for the lazy mysogynistic racist comment it it. I can't be arsed to scroll down and identify the poster. You know who you are delete it yourself

Louise was 14 at the time, very different to a 3 year old girl.

Tbf to Kate, Uncle Andrew was in the congregation.

whynotwhatknot · 05/01/2023 20:11

meghan is forever the victim even when she really isnt

ooh she upset me being upset

fuck off

GentlySobbing · 05/01/2023 20:11

If this was the case, why did Meghan completely misrepresent the situation on Oprah? She didn't mention anything about Kate also being upset, just that Kate made her cry.

BradfordGirl · 05/01/2023 20:11

I don't think even Uncle Andrew is interested in girls that young.

Mariposista · 05/01/2023 20:11

Two grown women getting hoity toity and snivelling like babies over a pair of tights? They BOTH need to grow up. I don't believe either was totally innocent here.

Exactly. Pictures of Lady Louise's skirt blowing up at I think Euginies wedding were published abroad and she was only just an adult, I would want my dd in tights if Ihad to worry about such things. No one asked MM if she was ok when she was feeling sensitive and vulnerable after a baby, they are evil and racist. She slagged off Kate on international TV after she was in the same situation, yet MM is a saint... I'm glad Harry is so dumb that he has shown what spiteful hypocrites both he and Meghan are in his own words

escapingthecity · 05/01/2023 20:15

Kate has famously had extremely difficult pregnancies with hyperemesis. Meghan seems to have been offended that Kate didn't immediately want to be BFFs, without showing any understanding of how gruelling her pregnancy with Louis must have been. To say something like this to a woman you don't know that well is incredibly crass. But Meghan seems to have been incapable of allowing time for relationships to depend and trust to build.
