The royal family

Meghan 'offended' for telling Kate she had 'baby brain'

Well, the Daily Fail have got their hands on a Spanish copy of the ''memoir'', so there is going to be shrapnel flying about from now until kingdom come.

One of these ''revelations'' is that Meghan made a joke about Kate having ''baby brain hormones'' a month after having Louis, which upset Kate, which in turn then upset Meghan.

Can you imagine the Oprah-style feeding frenzy had this been reversed - Kate telling Meghan that she had baby brain and hormones, which would have perfectly tapped into the villainous ice queen depiction that H&M are flogging right now?

Harry is soap operatising the royal family in the most sensational and tabloid dripfeed way possible (calling his brother his 'archnemesis'.

He is shockingly narcissistic, if he thinks this is not also going to also blow up on him and Meghan. The hypocrisy and whole thing is a shit show.

Well, I have small children, so I know that, yes. Also, Charlotte was wearing a dress with a full skirt which could easily blow up and show her knickers. Tights would help guard against that.

Here’s Charlotte at the wedding helpfully demonstrating in one picture these two good reasons for wearing tights - she’s tugging at her shoe and her skirt is lifted up.

No, sorry, I meant do we know that was said - is it in an extract? I can’t keep up!

Two grown women getting hoity toity and snivelling like babies over a pair of tights? They BOTH need to grow up. I don't believe either was totally innocent here.

But only one side is writing books and giving interviews and filming documentaries and discussing it over and OVER AND OVVVEERRRRR

make it stoooooppppo

Rinoachicken · 05/01/2023 20:19

It was also widely reported that Meghan threw the apology flowers in the bin and slammed the door in Kates face - which if true is unbelievably petty, but also gives some context to why William would be quite so angry.

BradfordGirl · 05/01/2023 20:20

@Rinoachicken Can you provide a link? I have never read that.

You are missing the point that although no one - apart obviously from some journalists who have got their hands on it early - has read the book the journalists writing about what they have read are providing a summary of the context, just not verbatim. The journalists say that Harry said in the book Catherine got upset about bridesmaids and rehearsal timings to which Meghan said was due to Catherine having baby brain. Unless the journalists are lying that was the context Harry gave in the book for this incident then I view that context as rude. Although it is probably sensible to wait until the book is out to be 100% sure the journalists reported the context correctly from the book.

And don’t forget it would have been said in front of Jessica Mulroney and others, Kate must have felt she was being bullied by the mean girls.

According to reports, Kate has sadly been bullied at school, which is why she had to change schools. How horrible that she is being treated in a bitchy way by one of her SILs.

Every time Meghan and Harry open their mouths (or relieve their inner depths via the written word) we can hear and see for ourselves what a bullying, immature and game playing couple this is. No need to consume tabloid media, they spell it out for all to see and don't realise how very badly they come across. They're on a self-destruct course and want to take down their nemeses in the process. They are embarrassing the royal family but they are mostly undermining themselves and their kids' future and reputation.

Context is everything, Meghan joined Harry and the RF with only a handful of newish friends, no family apart from her mother who had abandoned her for several years when she was a teenager, no long-term friends. She was already estranged from her family and kicked her dad in the curb just before she got married. Now they are both burning bridges with Harold's family. See the pattern there?

I'm afraid, Harry is delusional and Meghan is a class A b. Both are narcissistic. How do I know this? From the horse's mouth, my low opinion of them is based solely on what they say and how they say it through their own media channels.

@Coucous Kate has talked publicly about hyperemesis including here: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51511596 It has been widely covered. If you know anyone who's had it, you'll know how debilitating it is. As for the rest, I'm going on Harry's account in which he's trying to make his wife look like she was always being wronged, when in fact she comes out very badly.

ganachee · 05/01/2023 20:27

@KingHaroldHarefoot, you have articulated clearly the reasons for the opinion I have formed so far of H and M.

“Bower also dishes on that infamous row with Kate Middleton — you know, the one Meghan told Oprah she wouldn’t discuss except to say that Kate made her cry right before the wedding — but Meghan, being such a bigger person, had accepted Kate’s flowers and apology and simply couldn’t bear to demonize her sister-in-law. The Palace, so expert at playing the long game, has finally leaked their version to Bower. And surprise, surprise: They say it was Bridezilla Meghan who, as rumor long had it, called Kate’s toddler Charlotte lacking in the flower girl department, who made a hormonal, postpartum Kate cry, and who — upon Kate later showing up at Meghan’s door, flowers in hand, not offering an apology so much as a warning to stop treating Palace staff so terribly — took Kate’s flowers, threw them in the garbage and slammed the door in the future queen’s face.”

I think it's an offensive thing to say in the context of a disagreement. But I think it's so unintentionally revealing that Kate was upset to the point where William intervened and yet H&M were more bothered by a finger being waved in her direction than the fact she'd really upset her future SIL and BIL, and that they presented this story repeatedly as damage done to them for which Kate 'apologised'. She is a thank-you-letter and flower-sender type; of course she sent flowers after they had a row. Harry should know better than to allow Meghan to imply that means she admits was at fault. I think it's graceless in the extreme to talk about something like that publicly anyway, assuming Meghan accepted the flowers, and it seems she sent absolutely nothing back to Kate. I think the reason BP didn't intervene on their behalf to correct stories is because the pair of them are completely unable to be objective about their own behaviour and stories couldn't be corrected because they were true. The more Harry talks, the more sympathy I feel for the palace.

Don’t quote me on this, but I’m sure I read somewhere Meghan threw the flowers in the bin.

nonono1 · 05/01/2023 20:28

I've just read about the exchange in question. I'm no H&M fan, but is what Meghan said really so bad? To me it just sounds like a light-hearted comment in response to Kate forgetting whatever it was, perhaps intended to put her at ease. Am I missing something here?

Harry then claims that Kate became upset and demanded an apology from Meghan for offending her when she mentioned her hormones after giving birth and suggesting it had affected her memory. Meghan initially said she couldn’t remember but then added: “I remember: you had forgotten something and I said that it didn’t matter, that it was because of pregnancy. Because you just had a child. Because of the hormones’.
Harry said Kate then said back: ‘We are not close enough for you to talk about my hormones'.
Meghan then said she spoke to all her friends that way and then William weighed in, pointing at Meghan and saying it was rude and she was wrong to say it. Meghan then told him to stop pointing in her face.

Does Meghan have old frinds from school and uni?

Is she still frinds with Jess Mulroney?

What about any wider family on her mums side? Is there no one there? does her mum have siblings? Are there cousins?

I haven't ever heard anything on this.

Has Harry kept in touch with friends from school and the army do we know?or has he cut them off?

I wonedr how isolated they are? Or if they still have a close circle?

YesterYay · 05/01/2023 20:30

The charismatic ones have left, we're stuck with the dull adulterous ones.

Lol!! 😆Typical Meghan's army /fan girl comment.

Just remember that narcissists are charismatic.

I think you had a lucky escape.

Rinoachicken · 05/01/2023 20:31

Of anything, William has gone up in my estimation for being protective of his wife when she was vulnerable. Leads me to wonder if it was also the trigger for ‘dog bowl gate’

How was Charlotte 'lacking in the flower girl department' ??

This si so frustrating I wish someone would just give us the whole syory, and we'd probably all go 'oh' and then move on.

It's the titbits and spevualtion that keep us hooked.

At the very minimum it is diminishing/dismissing someone's feelings by blaming hormones. I'm not sure I'd ever say that to any of my close friends. Plus coming from a woman who had never experienced pregnancy, it would p**s me off.

H&M can't seem to see anything wrong with any of their behaviour, ever, it's always excusable or explainable. Pity they aren't so understanding of everyone else in their lives.

Legrandetraitor · 05/01/2023 20:36

I hope the palace leak all the nasty shit meghan has done to staff so people can stop excusing all the very obvious red flags from her and H

Kate has famously had extremely difficult pregnancies with hyperemesis. Meghan seems to have been offended that Kate didn't immediately want to be BFFs, without showing any understanding of how gruelling her pregnancy with Louis must have been. To say something like this to a woman you don't know that well is incredibly crass. But Meghan seems to have been incapable of allowing time for relationships to depend and trust to build.

Very well said!

Meghan seems to have the patience and impulse control of a toddler.

nonono1 · 05/01/2023 20:40

Actually thinking about it, I've made the "baby brain" comment in a jokey way about myself, but I probably wouldn't say it to anyone else. In that situation (someone who has just given birth forgetting something) I'd probably say something like, "No worries, you've got a lot on your plate at the moment" or something like that.
