And another interview...

This whole drama gets weirder and weirder.

He is completely deluded, lost the plot it feels.

And I'm no royalist either

And you are all Royalists yes?
Are you joking? I can't tell.

Blip · 02/01/2023 21:11

He seems so sour, I am finding it all pretty pathetic at this point and won't bother watching his promo interviews.

If there actually is anything of interest in his new book I'm sure it will be reported in the press, I couldn't face wading through trying to read it in full as I expect it to be one giant and annoying whinge athon.

I’m not a royalist, granted; but I don’t think he comes across as “deluded” here.

Honestly, the more bashing they get, the more I start to sympathise with them (when previously I couldn’t care less about any of it).

The RF are vile. It’s very clear to see now that the queen has died.

Rowthe · 02/01/2023 21:16

Wow it really is like watching a car crash in slow-mo

I really think he needs help.

Bunnyfuller · 02/01/2023 21:18

For someone that distanced himself from his family for privacy, he’s doing a shitload of attention-seeking bullshit.

I am anti-royalist but I even feel a bit sorry for them a very small bit).

ncpostingabout · 02/01/2023 21:23

@Londonlondon6 why are they so vile? Genuinely curious about your perspective

I dislike them purely because of the history but wouldn't say they're vile as people except PA of course !!

Hes being a twat now, i'm hardly surprised the RF aren't responding to his constant whinging.. shit happens in most families, he needs to go live his own life which is what i thought he said he wanted!

What have the RF done since the Queens died that made you see them as vile?

This. If somebody went on tele to slag me off I wouldn't be in a hurry to see them.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 02/01/2023 21:28

@ncpostingabout I’d say you’re right. It’s like a car crash.

IamSamantha · 02/01/2023 21:30

He needs to stop. He's just making it worse for everyone now. It's a family matter that's need to be dealt with outside of the press.

He will never win the battle with the UK press on his own. He should have stayed in the RF and kept a low profile. Problem is Megan can't do that. They rushed into marriage and it's one huge mess. He needs to stop the publicly.

oxymomon · 02/01/2023 21:33

Is it just me that feels sorry for him? His mother was literally killed by the paparazzi chasing her in a high speed chase. And then he's had the paparazzi following him his whole life, and more recently criticising his wife. Having watched his Netflix documentary, I believe him. I believe he has been treated badly, just as his mother was before him. Now I grant you that there are much worse travesties going on in the world, but this isn't about comparison. The poor man has been unwillingly part of a Truman show type existence since the day he was born. He lost his Mum to that existence aged just 12. He had to walk behind the coffin with what, about a billion people watching? And then shake hands with the public. Then have his adolescence and early relationships criticised. No peace. I feel bad for him and his wife. And I'm surprised people have forgotten how Diana was treated already...

queenofarles · 02/01/2023 21:33

im indifferent to both sides, just find the whole thing very interesting ? Gripping ? I can’t find the words really.
bet we will see something that is the complete opposite from W&K or C&C and the whole gang in the coming days , smiles and warm greetings, the complete cold treatment , sure to push H&M buttons even more.

JustWhattheDoctorOrdered · 02/01/2023 21:39

I am not a royalist.

I am black.

The British press has brought shame on the country with the way they have discussed Meghan Markle. If you don’t believe this it’s probably because you are a Guardian reader and oblivious to the things that have been printed over the years. I have become ashamed to be British because of what has been written about her in a so called civilised society and feel upset and really defensive when discussing it with Jamaican relatives.

So, I’m not a royalist and the British press have displayed astonishing misogyny and racism when reporting MM. BUT I still think that M and H are really misguided in what they are doing, especially H.

It shows a huge lack of wisdom to attack your family using the world’s media. Leaving aside whether it is justified or not, attacking family in public never, ever brings about good results. I really feel for them and personally feel (perhaps because of my own experience of being a black woman in the U.K.) that they probably did suffer harsh and unfair treatment. But there is no way that can be fixed by publishing books and making TV programmes about it. All family problems are solved by honest face to face discussions in private.

H and M are going totally down the wrong path.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 02/01/2023 20:37

He’s got a terrible PR manager. With all that money he could’ve afforded someone decent, but no, it’s turned into a complete shit show.

You'd think the RF would have budget for decent PR that actually understood the internet too though?

I just wish they'd all lock themselves in a room with a large bottle of port and not come out until they've thrashed this all out. It's so cringe at this point. On both sides!

All that is true. He can now lead his own life , quietly, out of the spotlight. He can just shut up and go about his business. He doesn’t want that though. He wants to continue stamping his feet and screeching. He’s immature and emotionally stunted.

VioletLemon · 02/01/2023 21:43

Me 2, he comes across as in real need of friends who actually know who he is, the real him. He needs serious therapy as he's increasingly radiating neediness and confusion.

purpledalmation · 02/01/2023 21:47

Poor Harry. He and his wife are great at vague statements. No specifics. No names. No clear descriptions of how the RF are managing to achieve this character assassination. No specifics on what the RF are saying. I wonder if it's because these are paranoid delusions? Because he sure as hell, sounds delusional.

He will have an interview with this American reporter and one with an ITV reporter, and I am so hoping they pin him down and actually interview!

Anderson I think, is a clever reporter and says 'there is a lot of complaining and a lot of explaining'... I think he is actually aiming it at Harry because the RF have said nothing. Right over Harry's head!

Harry is saying since they left there have been stories originating from the palace attacking him.

So the RF control the British newspapers now?
And haven't H&M been doing endless interviews, books etc despite saying they are doing things privately. Jesus he is totally gone 😳

Pieceofpurplesky · 02/01/2023 21:49

I feel sad for him, as I would anyone who lost a parent so young and was thrust in to a life that didn't support them.
He is angry and bitter. The press killed his mum. They have gone after his wife in the same way (and I'm doing so taken the heat from other aspects of his family). He must feel betrayed and is acting like a petulant child who won't give up being naughty as all the child really wants is attention and a hug!
Yes, he should stop now. And yes, the family should try and make amends - behind closed doors not through leaked newspaper articles

MoscowMules · 02/01/2023 21:55

There is clear trauma in Harry, of which is completely understandable.

I'd wage PTSD, more so from ACES than combat, but both can contribute. He probably also has a BPD. Narcissistic personality disorder maybe, PTSD and PBD can go hand in hand.

Problem with PTSD sometimes it can manifest and present as a inability to trust and paranoia.

Some of the sweeping statements H makes sorta "fulfill" this. He has a deep routed belief that The Royal Family are out to get him and Meghan. That the British press want to kill Meghan.

These are clearly very unhealthy thought cycles, and I do worry without the appropriate help, these will cycle over and over again.

Meghan strangely has also become "the model of my mother, the model of my trauma" which will intensify those feelings of distrust, paranoia and overall trauma response.

He's become fixated on Meghan and her safety, borderline compulsive about it, and he probably doesn't even acknowledge this.

cantley · 02/01/2023 21:56

They say the same things over and over and over trying to win people to their position, yet I feel that while they persist with the victim narrative the more they lose supporters.

purpledalmation · 02/01/2023 22:10

@MoscowMules Agree. I've said before he is heading for a breakdown. He's just not mentally stable at all. I think his family have protected him before he met Meghan, so we've seen little of this instability, by goodness me, he sounds unwell now.

However much we want him to STFU he can't because he is contractually obliged to give pre book launch interviews. Don't do them and he could be sued for breach of contract, hence an extension of the car crash that his life has become.

Sadly I think Meghan is the worst possible partner for him as her narcissistic tendencies and need for control plus his unstable mental health, have created a perfect storm.

abitsharp · 02/01/2023 22:10

I'd really really love for someone in one if these interviews to actually hold him to account and ask him some proper questions.

In particular to ask if he has any regrets about his own actions. Does he think he has made any mistakes along this path or has he done the right thing the whole time and all blame rests with the royal family?

howmanybicycles · 02/01/2023 22:11

I don't follow the royal family at all. He seems to be suggesting that he's reached out to his family and then they leak stories to the press. Is that right? I can only ever see H&M initiating things in the press but am I missing something? are there stories about H&M which are damaging them and which are not in reaction to their own publishing activities? things that have happened since they decided not to work as royals any more? What would those stories be?

They only speak to people who they know will take a fawning attitude and just give air time to their side of things . It’s so frustrating.
