And another interview...

This whole drama gets weirder and weirder.

He is completely deluded, lost the plot it feels.

And I'm no royalist either

And you are all Royalists yes?

I'm not, DH isn't, my family aren't, and most of my friends aren't. Everybody I've spoken to is firmly on the side of Harry and Meghan, and is rather enjoying the negative press this is all bringing the royal family.

Same!!!

@Walnutwhipsarenothesame "He did seek therapy after William suggested it . Charles does not seem to have been involved at all."

You have absolutely NO IDEA whether Charles was involved or not.

Walnutwhipsarenothesame · 03/01/2023 09:33

Aspiringmatriarch · 03/01/2023 09:15

Probably why Harry wanted to keep his then.

Harry couldn't possibly have imagined he could have Met protection in another country. He was completely deluded. He can of course pay for his own protection in the UK, but it can't be funded by the British public. That would be ludicrous.

I'm going on what he said himself. He has never suggested that Charles put help in place at any stage. Of course, that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

abitsharp · 03/01/2023 09:36

I very much doubt Charles has the understanding or awareness to realise how mentally unwell Harry is.

I think this is a bit patronising. He can't see it but a load of randoms on mumsnet can?

Crazycrazylady · 03/01/2023 09:42

It's the totally vagueness that irritates me.
"Someone in the family said a racist thing to me"
"Look at this text from William" ye can't see it mind you but trust us it's mean.

It's all this stupid innuendo about how they were treated with no specific complaint

Pansypotter123 · 03/01/2023 09:47

I'm wondering if Harry will start blaming Camilla for things too - I wonder what he thinks of her role in his parents' divorce etc.

I read in the Mail (🙄) over the weekend that Charles has said that any trashing of her would cross a red line (this isn't backed up by anything though, unsurprisingly).

susan12345678 · 03/01/2023 09:49

The vagueness is telling. For example, if one of my dc came home from school and complained that "the teacher was mean to me today" but wouldn't explain why or say what had happened, I'd suspect that there was more to it and that the full story probably wouldn't show my dc in a positive light.

HaveYouSeenNancy · 03/01/2023 09:56

Walnutwhips - I've just googled P H and rehab, and it looks like Charles sent Harry to a rehab unit for a day to talk to drug addicts in rehab and how drugs have ruined their lives. Harry was 16 or 17 at the time and had been caught smoking cannabis, so I think Charles was involved in trying to help him.

Having concerns for someone's mental health LOLOLOL
You know nothing about him. His mental health may be better than it was when he was a working member of the Royal Family and close to William. You would not have expressed concern about his mental health then. Because you do not know him and have zero idea about his mental health.
These are real people you know.
I could make up some insane narrative that I am concerned about William's mental health because he rarely smiles widely and laughs at public events. Oh he must secretly be very depressed and maybe suicidal. It would have as much validity as your narrative i.e. none.

He's spoken publicly many times about his own mental health and having therapy and he and William set up a mental health organisation. So I think it's clear he has MH issues.

Has anybody ever had such a terrible life as Prince Harry?

Yep - lived in a palace, never worried about money, had grandparents that loved and protected him, had the best education ... poor H - you'll never need a food bank, worry about paying your fuel bills. have immediate access to health care - when others wait and die in hospital corridors and ambulances ......😡

mumda · 03/01/2023 10:04

BBC news have just given his new book an advert with his headline from the ITV interview of wanting his dad and brother back

I suspect many people will be cynical about the whole nonsense.

As people often say on here 'speak to them directly rather than posting here'.

WandaWonder · 03/01/2023 10:05

I get this might be just me but I feel h&m are like recurring thrush

purpledalmation · 03/01/2023 10:06

I am just horrified that Harry has blamed the media for causing so much misery and mental health issues in his life, yet he is allowing the media (which includes TV) to exacerbate his issues. He is unravelling in front of the cameras, utterly unaware how he is being played by this other form of media. It won't end well.

Theunamedcat · 02/01/2023 20:20

It's all gone weird (er)

my family are a bunch of MEANIES and I took my family away to PROTECT them or they would Literally DIIIIEEE!!!!

I want an APOLOGY IN PERSON!!

I want my dad and brother back

ummm

😂 in a nutshell.

The man is bonkers. What he needs more than anything though is a box of tissues close at hand. Those sniffles, red eyes and large pupils look like he could be catching a South American flu bug🤔

Crazycrazylady · 03/01/2023 10:10

I think that's it's clear that for a long time the Royal Machine protected Harry from himself . For two reasons 1) it's what they do and 2) Harry was very popular and had a huge degree of sympathy with the Rf given the trauma of his early life so they cut him every slack and tried to grant his every wish eg wanting to go to Afghanistan etc.
As a result when Megan came on the scene and started putting in her own requests, he simply couldn't believe that he couldn't deliver for her as he had literally never been denied anything in his life.
The famous 'what Megan wants, Megan gets' statement and the palpable disbelief that his 'half in half out model' wasn't being entertained.
The suing of the home office when he didn't get his way on security. it's like he missed that toddler stage of the realisation that even he can't get every single thing he wants

To be fair to someone who had never before been denied anything he had asked for . this must have been incredibly hard to navigate.
That's what comes across most to me in his interviews. this almost outraged sense of anger and disbelief at not getting his way.

cyclamenqueen · 03/01/2023 10:10

Charles definitely sought help for Harry after Diana’s death and during his teenage years.

Maybe he’s not the perfect parent but who of those of us who have had teenagers with problems can say that we always dealt with things correctly. Remember this was a man who was severely under parented himself , his parents left him for months at a time. Everyone makes a huge thing about the Queen and PP living a normal life in Malta but they had two children by then who they mostly left in England. Once she became Queen they went on tour for 6 months and left the dc , no FaceTime then . Charles shook her hand on her return 🙁. He was bullied at school not just at Gordenstoun but at prep school too. He was uniquely ill equipped to deal with a bereaved and traumatised teenager .

i think the monarchy has to go but honestly I really can’t think this mud slinging can have a positive outcome for anyone .And it seems bizarre to take sides in what is clearly very painful for all parties. What does Harry want, will he be satisfied when everyone is as miserable as him, does he get pleasure from hurting his family. Apparently the Middletons were very kind to him but now he’s going to slag off their daughter in print , does that bring him contentment and happiness, highly doubt it .

By being so fascinated by him you all keep this going.
Every time he or Meghan says anything there are loads of comments on MN. You all seem a bit obsessed.

And why are you here?

purpledalmation · 03/01/2023 10:14

lollipoprainbow
Why can't Charles and William stop being so stiff upper lipped and get their backsides on a plane to America and thrash this out once and for all. All this never complain never explain crap helps no one.

Does it actually seem likely they could just rock up at the mansion door? They might not even be let in. Imagine the headlines from H&M...H's family came to our door threatening to drag my husband back to his gilded cage.

Nah, ain't happening.

I agree . I find it very alarming that his obvious MH issues are being played out on TV by companies who are only concerned with ratings.
I cannot see this ending well .
I have read - although obviously don’t know if it’s true- that part of the reason KC etc are keeping quiet is because they are seriously worried about Harry .
I know I will be jumped on for this but I simply cannot see H and M staying together and a split would be catastrophic for Harry especially if the other party tells “ her truth “.
I have gone from being annoyed with Harry to being concerned. He should happy - beautiful children , physical health , money etc yet ……

Anderson is a real reporters reporter, and Harry has to do this interview. It's going to be a train wreck. ☹️

Yes. I loved the way the BBC correspondent phrased it on the news last night. Something along the lines of :
'H &M have already given some interviews but this will be the first time they are interviewed by a credible journalist'!

PIPSUE · 03/01/2023 10:21

Quote from Harry:
"You know, my wife and I, we’re moving on. We’re focused on what’s coming next."
Then why don't they do just that, instead of whinging over and over about the past?

Hedjwitch · 03/01/2023 10:22

I respected him for wanting out of The Firm and making that happen so he and his family could live a private life. If only he had actually done that instead of prostituting himself to the media. You dont air the family dirty linen in public for money!
