That's as nice of photo of Kate.
I definitely think she's so uptight with a stick up her arse.
She couldn't even give her sis in law a warm hug when they first met.
Weird woman she is.

I don't think its weird not giving her sister in law a hug. She didn't even know the woman! I think this obsession with hugging is weird, like I hug my kids and my nieces and nephews, but that's it. I don't want to press my body up against anyone else.

Coconutmangoprune · 16/12/2022 11:09

I want a courageous future Queen who stands up for what is right. Kate unfortunately isn’t that person. She sat back and stayed silent while the press slaughtered her brother and sister in law.

She will never be the peoples’ Queen. That was Diana, people adored Diana. It could also have been Meg….people loved her too.

People also loved the Queen and Prince Phillip.

It’s not her fault, it’s just she doesn’t connect with people in the way the others did. I also think she’s suffering…she started off looking quite bubbly and full of life. I don’t think she looks that way anymore. I think being in the RF appears to have turned her into a shell of her former self, at least publicly. I feel sorry for her.

Mellymoon · 16/12/2022 11:10

More class in her little finger than Harry and Meghan combined.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 16/12/2022 11:11

And you only have to look at any gathering of the Royal family to know that Princess Pinocchio’s claim that in the family you’re not allowed to wear the same colour as any one else is a load of bull…. as proved again by yesterday’s pictures.

Sandra1984 · 16/12/2022 11:13

Have you seen the headlines? 😦

British Royal family PR machine working FULL FORCE after Megflix documentary. The fear is real!

LlynTegid · 16/12/2022 11:13

Did you really expect any other response?

My main feeling is sadness at how bitter it seems to have become.

Coconutmangoprune · 16/12/2022 11:14

I think the press response highlights just how bad the press and RF are. People can compare the documentary to the headlines and see for themselves now.

KateBain · 16/12/2022 11:15

William and Kate must need therapy to make sense of all of this

I don't think that's Kate's style. She's more likely to hit the gym (disagree with pp, I bet her bone density is excellent), get the kids baking and out on a bracing country walk, go shoot things with Will (gross but I never said she was perfect), cook and eat a hearty roast and watch Schitts Creek.

Grit, determination, duty, loyalty, service, good humour.

I'm no royalist but I do admire Kate's self possession and determination to get on with things .

And her family and extended family were there to support her. Charles should issue some letters (or whatever!) to name her Princess Catherine.

You realise she has no choice but to do those things, right? She's married to the heir to the throne, she's a brood mare, who's been groomed for a lifetime of servitude, a role she clearly enjoys - she's not about to rock the boat...

Come on then where your proof the Royal family PR machine is behind the Headlines today?

I await your definitaive proof with glee.

Or could it be they are just offering an opposing view from the picture Nextflix painted in their very well crafted £89M PR puff piece.

What find crazy in all this, is people either dislike the Kate and Will or dislike Harry and Meghan! Let's be honest the Royal Family haven't acted well and also Meghan and Harry haven't acted well. The documentary could have been so much more than a tit for tat, Hollywood blockbuster story! When there is so much suffering in the world both sides need to use their position of privilege for doing good things.

Agreed! Both sides are not perfect and I feel sorry for both sides in different ways. Why does everything have to be polarised now?

CanINapNow · 16/12/2022 11:23

Queenly behaviour from a future Queen. Beautiful, poised and dignified. A great role model.

UnicornMumcraft · 16/12/2022 11:23

Unless you’re claiming that the royal family get down and dirty in the charitable causes, then I don’t see how they’re any different from another big brand.

Ive worked with/for a number of Royal charities over the past few decades and in my experience it’s quite varied but absolutely several of the royals ‘get down and dirty’ with the charitable causes that mean something to them, often this isn’t presented publicly though. Charles and Katherine tend the best the best ‘reviews’ from service users in my experience, William and Harry less so.

TrimTheTree · 16/12/2022 11:25

I hate with a passion the fake smiles and laughing meeting the general public. The stupid coat dresses and not allowed to hold hands with your partner. Then touching your partners back and the world goes crazy over your love for each other. They are paid to be actors and they love it.

Quinner · 16/12/2022 11:26

I think Catherine is very typical of a certain type of woman. Reared in a well off close loving family to be confident and sent to certain schools to help cement this.

Wanted nothing more than to be a wife and mother. I could be very wrong as she is a cipher but I don’t sense a great level of ego or depth there, I think she’s genuinely uncomplicated - a bit like Camilla really. These type of women are perfect for the royal family.

In many ways the queen was the same only instead of motherhood she put being sovereign as her main mission.

Ohnonevermind · 16/12/2022 11:26

Kate has a quiet confidence which comes from having a supportive family. She invited her whole family to her wedding even the one people were sniffy about.

She doesn’t need to be the star, so shes not looking permanently for ‘slights’ against her. She knows she’s lucky and does a job well.

is she perfect, of course no, but I’d rather her attitude than sobbing to whichever interviewer about how hard the millionaire Sussex’s had it 🤣

shes not a liar either which is great.

More likely to chain-smoke out the back door of Kensington Palace while chewing wasps with Camilla, I think. But definitely your version for the cameras: she’s done very well curating a wholesome country Cotswolds gilets and wellies image for herself.

DappledThings · 16/12/2022 10:25

All of this.

So she's arrived somewhere, in a coat and smiling. Am I missing something? How is this in any way significant or making any kind of response to the documentary?

She does indeed never rock the boat and is very well presented. Neither of those are bad qualities but I don't see them as admirable either.

Over 100 years of feminism and suffragettes prepared to sacrifice their lives for votes for women and yet in the 21st Century this guff gets written. The Burgundy Front indeed !

What all young girls should aim to be….. arm candy and a mum of children who have to suck up being uncomfortable and smile at everything.

Zimtsterne · 16/12/2022 11:29

I admire qualities like dignity and restraint far more than "passion" (bleurgh) and weeping and wailing. Good on her.

Just because she isn't spilling her guts all over the place doesn't mean she's bland or boring or whatever else people lob at her.

PenanceAdair · 16/12/2022 11:30

Kate seems to be all shoulders. Facially stunning and I love her outfits, though I think they'd look even better on a different frame.

Its not a response nor is it admirable but it is all perfect for the Royal Family.
Different doesn’t survive the the media onslaught or the institutions straight jacket [ Fergie Diana Meghan Phillip until he managed to pull himself back]

Uncomplicated, low ego will thrive - Queen, Camilla, Anne, Catherine

Shesasuperfreak · 16/12/2022 11:31

Who are these stooges writing all this crap about Kate? Damage control indeed.

Ylvamoon · 16/12/2022 11:32

Well what else can / should she do?

Text: Hey Meg you know I finally relised you and H are right all along?

Confused It is only called crown court because we happen by quirk of history to still have a crown. Republics have justice (and much better than here, now the Tory twats have cut it to the bone Angry)

Republics have justice

Do they? Be specific. Do you know this for certainty because you know all the ins and outs of all republics?

Humans are not just creatures. If you’ve ever studied the history of law and justice you’ll know that there’s a reason the concept of justice comes from a divine source (justice has the be ‘pure’ and humans are not ‘pure’). Even the republics derive their justice ideas from times when they believed in a divine source. Republics seem to have trickle down crowns and have forgotten what the Crown symbolises.
