Well as my old Mum use to say you can’t buy class!!

you either have it or you don’t

Kate has more class on the tip of her pinky finger then the one washing her dirty laundry on Netflix.

Kate has so much class she didn't see fit to correct the error that was widely printed of Meghan making her cry. When Meghan and Harry give their side of the story, it's called washing their dirty laundry in public. When the RF give their side of the story through jumerous journalists and Royal Family experts, it's called keeping calm and carrying on. Why??? Standing up for oneself when you're being bashed is the strongest sense of having class. Meghan has it in spades.

@CovertImage agreed! Aside from the misogynistic bullshit and patriarchal privilege is women have to deal with on a day to day business, my number one pet peeve is when other women tell women what being a feminist is or the 'right' way to be a woman! True equality means a woman is allowed to be whatever the fuck she wants to be, whether that is subservient, outspoken, married, single, working, with or without kids! Let's just stick to the facts... Meghan and Harry have told their side of the story, Kate has not responded! No need to berate her...

Exactly this.

The attacks on Catherine’s looks on here are particularly low - on par with the worst of the right wing press.

i’m not a particular fan of hers but I think she does this exceptionally well.

This! It's all utter bullshit and a truly terrible role model.

But who honestly looks to royals as role models ?

BenchedRabbit · 16/12/2022 12:10

It’s all a load of over privileged people moaning (or keeping quiet) about a whole heap of over privileged first world problems.
I bet the government are rubbing their hands with glee that this is all over the news, distracting from striking nurses, postal workers, etc, and the cost of living crisis that’s having a terrible impact on ordinary people.

SummaLuvin · 16/12/2022 11:40

of course so sorry. women should be seen but not heard.

Kate comes across as cheerful, full of common sense, has a strong sense of family and is growing into her role.

It's not a case of being seen and not heard - I'm sure she has as many opinions as the next person but realises if she expresses those opinions they'll be raked over with a fine toothed comb, half the commentary will be hateful and the other half fawning so why open the floodgates.

She's had plenty of hate directed at her on SM, the press and paparazzi were pretty full on for years. Since her bil and sil have been in the news she's had even more social media hate - some of the commentary on twitter has been vile, and she's done nothing to justify it.

Yes, that's what I said 🙄

What I actually DID say goes for men as well, actually.

Comedycook · 16/12/2022 12:12

Oh purlease, what did you think she'd do op...rock up in a stained tracksuit, hair in a scrunchie whilst yelling that H and M are snakes...

TheRedLip · 16/12/2022 12:13

I'm uncomfortable with hugging virtual strangers, a lot of people are. Meghan's wearing of ripped jeans and going barefoot when first meeting Catherine strikes me as very contrived. Like Meghan was determined to prove how natural, laid back and 'cool' she was. But if Meghan is genuinely such a spontaneous free spirit, marrying into an incredibly traditional family wasn't the best idea.

I believe Meghan really thought the RF was going to sit around her, begging her to show them how to be more like her. Whereas the RF is a thousand year old institution and Meghan was only ever going to be an unimportant footnote.

supertato23 · 16/12/2022 12:14

@OneDayFri Netflix have done it on purpose to great as much media spin as possible.

The whole hypocrisy in the Meghan and Harry documentary is that they berate the press (quite rightly so) but have signed a multi million dollar deal with one of the biggest media channels in the world! They will have a whole press and publicity team who are releasing episodes on specific days to create more media hysteria about it. If they truly wanted to tell their genuine side of the story, why didn't they just set up their own production company and do a podcast!

supertato23 · 16/12/2022 12:14

Sorry *create!

If it wasn’t the RF it would be Katie Price , Beckhams etc being featured

People can consider several news pieces at a time. Nurses and rail strikes are all over the papers and the TV

lookluv · 16/12/2022 12:22

Lies, lies and more lies - problem is H&M have now blatantly told lies in their own voices and broadcast them to the world.
The Media loved Meghan to start with, then they started to turn - what started that turn from where she and Harry went from good to bad who knows.

I have had arguments with both my siblings, I do not take them public, I do not do what Harry has done. He seems to want to own Diana as his, she was his mother no one elses- he has a brother who was equally as hurt as he was at losing their mother in such a public and awful manner but one rakes it up and the other asks for peace and calm and letting her rest in peace. Sly innuendos implying something and knowing the other person can not/will not respond is overt bullying.
Both of them have shown through their programmes that this was planned,co ordinated and well thought out. The ultimate actions of a bully.

At the end of the day, he wants what his brother has, always has. He does not want to play second fiddle and his wife clearly wanted to be No 1 , playing second fiddle to Kate does not sit well with her. Both educated intelligent women who approached life in the RF very differently, both took criticism - I remember the headlines when they found a Jewish ancestor in Kates midst and her "unsavoury" uncle. I would love to know what the aides who have signed NDAs would reveal - that would probably give us more of an understanding of what made the change.

Dissuadepersuade · 16/12/2022 12:23

Ofgs do stop banging on about it.

Meghan has every right to be offended amd hurt by the racism she'had to endure and Kate has every right to not have to answer to whatever has been said about them..leave them all alone fgs

wishingyouwell · 16/12/2022 12:24

Kate's response to husband's affair was keep focused on the prize of the crown. Doormat and grasping response. He married a non-aristocrat because a woman with an aristocratic lineage would not put up with his philandering. Kate will as she is a social climber and sees the prize of the crown as the ultimate affirmation of success. As does her mother. Very challenging to respect her shocking work ethic also.

antelopevalley · 16/12/2022 12:26

@lookluv Except William has publicly criticised Diana in public. That really was not nice. I know the Royal Family hate her, but sad to see him joining in.

BenchedRabbit · 16/12/2022 12:29

Oh yes, I can really see the BBC live blogging KP’s daily doings on their news homepage.

antelopevalley · 16/12/2022 12:29

@wishingyouwell I know Kate has a total lack of a work ethic, but I can't blame her. She is doing what she is supposed to do i.e. shut up, say nothing, smile and turn a blind eye. She probably thinks she has already paid her dues.

It’s more complicated than that because Kate is claiming the crown for her husband and children. The problem is that the Crown is THE symbol of Justice. Kate needs to do more than not use her god-given voice in things that matter because she is adopting the “never complain never explain” line.

Do you think the family symbolising the Crown and justice should be silent, never complaining about injustice and never explaining nuances in justice?

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good person to do nothing.

That good person should not have a right to the Crown because they’re setting a bad example in matters of justice.

Did he really, that passed me by. Agree he shouldn’t have done that but I’d imagine she was a very difficult and damaging mother (and Charles same as a father before I get any response)

Didn’t they cover the ridiculousness that was the Coleen Rooney, Rebecca Vardy trial, live coverage. The BBC are a joke.

Oh yes. the bingo word.
