It’s also about history, national identity and appreciation of being a sovereign nation for many. Your opinion isn’t the only one, no matter how in vogue it is to rip into the RF.

‘It’s all about history,’ but just not the shameful history. The RF won’t talk about their family’s historical participation in that bit.

But it doesn't say what the kid(s) said? It might have deserved an eyeroll. And she does have kids so I bet she's had a lot of practice. 🙄 😉

There's a video doing the rounds about a kid trying to grab Meghan when she's posing for a photo. It's clear Meghans not happy about it but I wouldn't be either. Little sweaty fingers grabbing your hair. Gerrorf.

Give them both a break, for gods sake.

Exactly.

They’re two humans who behave like humans and that means not being robotic 24/7. At the Jubilee when Louis was playing up I remember thinking Catherine must feel SO much pressure to not pull the wrong face, or to look cross or angry in anyway for even a nanosecond. Because you just know THAT will be the picture that’s trotted out forever more as an example of her being evil/wicked/a bad mum etc.

Meanwhile Mike Tindall at the same event did the thing to his kids where he points with 2 fingers to his eyes and points at them as if to say “got my eyes on you”. Everyone laughed hysterically and said “Golly! A MAN! Engaging with his CHILDREN! What fun!”. Imagine if Catherine or Meghan did that. People would be calling social services. They are victims of misogyny every step of their lives and we could really do with NOT upholding that.

Why do you want her to be controversial or pioneering or groundbreaking? Or even work? The RF are just supposed to be figureheads, not freedom fighters and the contract between them and the public is not that they work but that they be figureheads. A lot of women are SAHMs and Kate has tried to represent those, in her various roles as family photographer and speaker on maternity type issues. She's not done anything terrible there. I've never promoted her as a role model for my kids (I don't support the monarchy) -- and anyone who did do would be behaving strangely IMO. There are obviously more inspirational role models out there, but she is not offensive either. The spare pair are neither pioneering nor groundbreaking, compared to the statespeople, activists, creators and inventors on the world stage. I find though that they appear to be homing in on her when she is just not responsible for the position they find themselves in. That's why I looked at this post in the first place as I am so surprised she is one of their targets. I'm sorry for her being hated for what she never put herself up to be. The competitiveness, envy and spite projected onto her from women is horrible. I think people should keep asking themselves why she is so trolled at this particular point in time.

Precisely.

The whole concept or Royal Family members kissing babies and opening factories is actually a relatively recent one. In the context of the history of the RF anyway. It was Prince Albert who had the idea that Royals should Meet The People. And it’s just followed on from there, but it isn’t their purpose by any means, it’s just expected these days that in return for immense wealth we expect to see them rolled out to wave at us now and again.

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 18/12/2022 18:27

Wait a minute.

You’re suggesting that the RF commissioned a piece of work that detects negative articles about W&C - which would be a very specialist bespoke software - then they’ve ensured that non-affiliated websites such as MN, actually have this platform as a plug in to automatically detect and delete any articles that have been picked up?

Thats quite a stretch. And if it were true then it would allow a link to be posted in the first place, unless it was a REALLY shot software.

But tell us more - do the RF pay MN et al for using this software? How does it work in practice?

I'm supposed to be self censoring off the threads, that aside MN do have auto-censoring software that hides dodgy links. Try linking to say the video site Rumble or archive.ph for instance and the bot automatically kicks in. It is probably to help with the moderation and prevent legal problems. The Daily Mail as a whole isn't forbidden so my guess is is it was that link in particular that is proscribed to avoid any hassles with misinterpretation but no the RF wouldn't be invloved in any direct pressure to censor UK media or discussion , I don't believe that. Are external paid PR teams working in posting on MN to help shape the narrative I would have thought absolutely yes. Anyway I will test this in the next couple of posts.

That was a Times article for testing auto-bot - probably for copyright reasons as it bypasses the paywall.

Isn’t it because you made the suggestion that Catherine was a prostitute? Isn’t that why it got deleted?

vera99 · 19/12/2022 01:11

Oh the link stays up so bang goes my theory. I don't want to reopen that debate again.

He lives in Mexico, they spent their dating life in a LDR and she isn’t close to her father. Absolutely 100% normal that he didn’t meet HarryZ

so how long did her dad need to be prepared to walk her down the aisle?! Very normal to fly in to a destination wedding only a couple of days before.

Personally I wouldn’t have invited him at any point. The man is a walking red flag. He sees money as a currency for access to his adult daughter

They spent their dating life traveling to meet each other and could have travelled to TM or had him travel to them.

She was very close to her father. Or everything she had said on her blog was a lie.

The father wasn’t going to be walking down the aisle of a function suite in a hotel or the local registry office. He was doing it on the worldwide stage.

Destination wedding? Your attempts to downplay the wedding in order to justify Harry and Meghans nonsense are laughable. And again, MM had only ever written about how great her dad was till it all changed overnight.

This is the actual colour of the outfit - A pale primrose yellow.

I love how it seems to work now:

Anything negative in press about Meghan (now or in the past) = very untrue, can't put a foot wrong.

Anything negative in press about Kate = totally true and just proves how bad she is, just look at all the coverage about her, what a cow.

pinkpapaya · 19/12/2022 06:51

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 19/12/2022 00:37

You’ve claimed

  • Catherine looks old and needs botox
  • she had a nose job before the wedding
  • Harry gave her a cruel nickname
  • She’s unattractive
  • She’s lazy and boring.
  • That you don’t need to link to any evidence because you remember it all
Its REALLY hard to take you seriously with all this garbage and I can only imagine the tears if someone had said all this crap about Meghan.

Triggered! Go and have a lie down in a quiet room love.

What’s so bad about plastic surgery and Botox? It’s become kind of essential for anyone in a public facing role.

wishingyouwell · 19/12/2022 08:08

She's not unattractive but that isn't an achievement as she didn't self create.
She is incredibly lazy as the stats on her royal engagements pre and post children confirm. Spending her 20s doing very little other than hanging around for a ring isn't a great look either. Most people are very productive in their 20s.
She owes the taxpayer a lot more work to make up for years of sheer laziness. Very entitled woman.

Wow. Such bitterness first thing on a Monday morning!

Kate’s wedding outfit was pale yellow, not white, as already stated. Looking at the official family photo from the wedding it’s also quite obvious that this was planned - Meghan the bride in white along with her bridesmaids, Doria in pale green, Kate in pale yellow, Camilla in pale pink, and the Queen in brighter hues co-ordinating with them all, with all the men in black or grey. And the whole party standing out nicely against the bright green of the Windsor drawing room.

SummaLuvin · 19/12/2022 09:27

From what I understand Kate wore something she had worn multiple times before so that her outfit would not be anything interesting/new to discuss.

That being said someone should have considered that in bright sunlight and intense flash photography the very pale colour would get washed out to appear a cream/white tone. When I first saw her I did think she was in white and was quite shocked. It seems like an oversight - not blaming Kate alone as I'm sure many people were involved in the choice, but that was a (accidental) misstep.

Anonymouseposter · 19/12/2022 09:49

The title of this thread is misleading. Kate hasn’t made any response, let alone an official one. She has just fulfilled a standing engagement as usual. Both Kate and Meghan have had some misogynistic coverage in the media. Meghan has had it worse with the racist abuse. With the recent horrible article from Jeremy Clarkson I do think it’s time for the King to say something but I don’t think it can be expected that Kate should speak for the family.

DappledThings · 19/12/2022 09:57

What a throughly depressing statement

Blossomtoes · 19/12/2022 10:09

She did bloody well to be at that wedding at all considering that she gave birth less than four weeks earlier. She’d probably much rather have been at home cuddling newborn Louis.

Zimtsterne · 16/12/2022 11:29

I admire qualities like dignity and restraint far more than "passion" (bleurgh) and weeping and wailing. Good on her.

Just because she isn't spilling her guts all over the place doesn't mean she's bland or boring or whatever else people lob at her.

This so much. I can’t bare drama llamas.

So much hypocrisy too. I’m only on page 4 but there’s insults on Kate’s personality, family, body and work ethic already. Many threads about MM has been shut for far less.

bakalava · 19/12/2022 10:58

Well, the other one has had all that done (on steroids) and telling that the screams of racism and misogyny only get thrown in one direction.

Kate cannot be offensive to look at in her natural state because she has produced some beautiful children, especially George who is the best looking kid in the wider family by miles.
