The royal family

Will Harry and William ever repair their falling out

Sadly, it just seems to be getting worse. I don’t really care or take any notice of relationships in the celebrity or world or the relationships of public figures, but I do find it quite sad that there are two brothers who were probably very close at one point and brought closer together by the premature death of their mother at a young age and are now so distant from each other, and I don’t just mean geographically.

I can’t see Harry and William ever making amends, what with all this Netflix stuff, the Oprah stuff and his new book.

It just seems a bit sad!

They aren’t that independently wealthy.

What really have they done. 12 podcasts, a terrible book, and 6 hours of navel gazing on TV. In almost three years.

Is Harry’s book terrible? I haven’t read it.

To be fair in three years they’ve also escaped the world‘s most toxic institution, had a second child, relocated countries, undertaken royal duties and yes, done the documentary and other projects. Frankly if I’d had the time in the royal family that Meghan had had, and had two young children, I’d fancy a bit of a breather too.

milveycrohn · 15/12/2022 19:57

"Not until Harry and Meghan split."
As there are children involved, I really hope they do not split up.
Also, I think it very unlikely after they have talked about their amazing love story, etc.
However, it is possible in future that they may end up living rather separate lives in their 14 bathroom mansion. And their house is large enough fpr them to do so. I doubt anyone would know about it though. And I doubt they will ever divorce.

No one's read it yet. It comes out in January.

caringcarer · 15/12/2022 20:16

I would doubt it given H&M have slagged off the RF and monarchy which is Williams future.

I think the poster is referring to Meghan's children's book.

Ah, I gotcha. Yes, crap to have only achieved No.1 New York Times bestseller status in three years, one of which she was on maternity leave. She really ought to try harder.

CaptainBarbosa · 15/12/2022 20:38

I don't think H and M will split, and I wouldn't want them to. They do genuinely seem besotted with eachother (which is fine) and there are children involved.

Time will tell though, nobody knows the future.

Honestly, I hope they've now worked whatever they had in their system out with Netflix and the book deals, and they just move on. For their own mental health. Re hashing this for the next decade won't work financially or emotionally.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 15/12/2022 15:41

I genuinely think it'll take a divorce and about two decades. But stranger things have happened.

Something like this

Or just getting to 80

Or not at all

It’s sad, but it happens. They both have their own families, a purpose, health, a lot of influence and a lot of money.

Remaker · 15/12/2022 20:41

I’ve always assumed that one day they’ll get divorced then Harry might slither back to the UK, though I can’t imagine anyone would welcome him back to the fold after he’s made a career out of spilling the tea on the RF.

Surely once his book is out that’ll be it? What else will there be left to say? And then they’ll just be a couple of grifters without any great talent. Meghan will get bored with him, Harry will start to resent what he gave up for her and it will end with someone having an affair and a messy divorce and custody battle.

They are.

They’ve made plenty out of Netflix, they’ll do well out of the book, as long as they invest it well they’ll be set for life and so will their kids. They’ve had their big 10s of millions payday now, but they’ll still be able to top it up with low 7 figure advertising deals, 6 and the odd 7 figure after dinner deal.

Even in a split they’ll be financially fine. I imagine that’s been the main motivation for burning their boats.

londonrach · 15/12/2022 21:12

No. I feel vvvv sad it's come to those. What harry thinking...he could have quietly left the royal family no fuss.

escapingthecity · 15/12/2022 21:24

@pelargoniums The Bench is appalling. Really really appalling piece of writing. Trite, barely poetry, would never have been published if anyone else had written it.

They’ve been filming everything from the start; long before they said they were dealing with Netflix

Yes, this was glaring, and if it's occurred to we mere mortals on here I'm pretty sure it'll have occurred to the palace

On that basis alone they'd be utter fools to give H&M any further opportunities, especially given Meghan's veiled threats about having found an old diary and not having signed an NDA

How did William betray him?

Sugarfree23 · 15/12/2022 21:43

asblindasabat · 15/12/2022 18:33

I didn’t think too much of that, I just maybe thought that he just genuinely hadn’t got there on time, just as that might happen to any normal Person when an elderly relative passes away.

Do people think that maybe the RF tried to keep him away from Balmoral until the Queen had passed?

I don't think they tried to keep him away at all. I do suspect Meghan was kept away, told she wasn't welcome. Only William & Harry were there none of the other GC were there, none of the GCinlaw were there.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 15/12/2022 21:45

I think it will end tragically. I really get the feeling that Harry is at risk of seriously harming himself. Sad Then there will be another fucked up generation of royal children.

But presumably only "unwelcome" in the same way as the other spouses weren't?

That has cross my mind too, It's also crossed my mind he could end up alcohol or drugs dependant

No matter how it ends, I don't think they'll ever be a reconciliation between the two couples. They might tolerate each other in public but that would be about it.

He did have a pretty bad coke addiction after he left military service. So substance misuse issues may creep back in if things start to go pear shaped sadly.

World’s most toxic institution??? 🤣🤣🤣

Do you seriously believe the utter rubbish you’re spouting?

asblindasabat · 15/12/2022 22:23

I don’t know how to interpret it but apparently in the Netflix show they said something along the lines of the “queen sat back and took it all in”

were they criticising the Queen?
