Will Harry and William ever repair their falling out

Sadly, it just seems to be getting worse. I don’t really care or take any notice of relationships in the celebrity or world or the relationships of public figures, but I do find it quite sad that there are two brothers who were probably very close at one point and brought closer together by the premature death of their mother at a young age and are now so distant from each other, and I don’t just mean geographically.

I can’t see Harry and William ever making amends, what with all this Netflix stuff, the Oprah stuff and his new book.

It just seems a bit sad!

The Duke of Windsor was never reconciled with the Royal Family, and Harry went a lot less quietly.

DriftwoodOnTheShore · 15/12/2022 16:35

I agree. When the divorce comes Harry will edge his way back into the family.

I feel really sorry for him in his love blindness.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 15/12/2022 16:35

So I can understand completely why William wouldn't want to kiss and make up. Trust has been broken/manipulated and it never fully comes back. Yes it's sad but it's a consequence of actions.

This is what I'm picturing. Plus, he has meaningful work, duty, his family and in-laws... he'll have so much more support than Harry and much less time for rumination.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 15/12/2022 16:39

Meghan is toxic, and Harry is under her toxic spell, making him toxic - so until the spell breaks, Harry will continue to spew poison at his father, brother et al. But I have no doubt that one day, the spell will break, and then when Harry is thinking clearly, and sees how horrendously he and Meghan acted, he can begin to make amends and there is hope that his family will forgive him and move forward. (This exact scenario happened in my family. Sadly it took almost 20 years to play out.)

How do you know Harry and meghan will split?

clarrylove · 15/12/2022 16:44

No, I don't think so. They are on two separate paths. One has a duty to protect the institution. The other is intent on sabotaging it.

ZeldaWillTellYourFortune · 15/12/2022 16:46

I don't know. Maybe if Harry and Meghan split, and Harry edges back into becoming a working royal. He was so, so misguided to make the split, especially doing so while the Queen was still living. I would be hard pressed to forgive him for putting her through that if I were Charles and William.

I mean, how hard would it have been for Meghan to spend a few years learning the ropes and enjoying the pomp of the royal household? I know the tabloids and such were hurtful but just rise above it for a while. Ignore them, ignore social media and be in learning mode for a few years while your kids are young. Instead they barely gave it a chance before blowing it all up.

If she finds a richer, more suave and powerful man, and ditches Harry, he is going to have nothing left. Talk about all of one's eggs in one basket.

everlastingpanini · 15/12/2022 16:47

I also think it will take a divorce and 20 years.

However, DH has a brother. We fell out with him in 2016 when he lied to us; lied about us; stole from us (to the tune of 40k) and stole from my PILS. I truly cannot see any situation whatsoever where we would ever acknowledge him again. My SIL (sibling to DH and BIL) will also never speak to him again. I don't think thiose feelings will fade even in 20 years. TBH it's like he is truly dead to us. We never speak, talk or think of him.

Previously they were close which made his deceit and treachery all the more devastating.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 15/12/2022 16:47

Good lord, obviously I don't know conclusively that this will happen, I'm not Nostradamus 😂
But it is my prediction. Toxic people like Meghan push and push and push with their toxicity, and most of the time they will end up crossing a line that will break the spell they have over their partner.

PeaceJoySleep · 15/12/2022 16:48

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 15/12/2022 15:41

I genuinely think it'll take a divorce and about two decades. But stranger things have happened.

Agree

Agree with all this.

If they split, I can see Harry returning to the UK and being privately financially supported/housed by his father but, much like Andrew today, he will be kept out of the public eye and you won’t see him.

Once his father has passed away, I think William will be MUCH less inclined to bankroll him.

JamSandle · 15/12/2022 16:49

I hope they're able to. I think Diana would be very sad to see her two sons fall apart like this after everything that happened.

custardbear · 15/12/2022 16:50

It'll take a split from toxic MM, for Harry to fall on his sword and a lot of grovelling on Harry's part.
He's been played so professionally by MM albeit he's a thick puppy dog so I'm love it's easy to control him and firey too so a loose cannon who makes money from his gossip. I'll bet MM adores the drama, what with all the fake tears, big 'wow' moments which happen to have been caught on camera, she's planned, directed, produced and manipulated every step of the way.

I'm not particularly a royalist but I know a lying narcissistic trouble creator when I see one - that's you Markle

Rinoachicken · 15/12/2022 16:52

I don’t think he would ever be a working royal again. He has spewed bile not just on his family but also on the country and the public as a whole.

You can’t call a whole country racist and imperialist and then expect to swan back in and ask those same people to be excited to shake your hand and fund your lifestyle with their taxes

They will have to bankroll him privately if at all. He can’t expect the state to fund him after everything he’s said.

bakalava · 15/12/2022 16:57

Did Phil and Grant make up in the end - I stopped watching it?

Leave Diana out it.
They have a living father who is probably very sad at seeing his DSons fall out, and probably very sad that one of his sons is out to destroy the family business too.

He also can't expect the public purse to support him in going about whatever he chooses to do wherever he wants it! He was a millionaire why should the public pay after he's stepped down! I don't get expenses or keep things once I step down for my job, neither does anyone else - a tough case of I want out, but I want money and lifestyle .... tough shit ... grow up and get a real job ... albeit they just reverted to the playground squinneying and name calling, spreading 'their gossip ' to fuel themselves ... not like an honest person would - they're a disgrace to all that is honourable

Justmuddlingalong · 15/12/2022 17:00

I don't think the RF will ever truly forgive or trust Harry again. Even if H&M split and he returned home back to the racist, lying and gaslighting institution he's currently trashing. I also think much of the British public will never rewarm to him.

pelargoniums · 15/12/2022 17:01

I feel like I’m watching a different documentary to everyone else, because I can’t fault what Harry has done. I think the brothers could absolutely reconcile if Will admitted his wrong behaviour on behalf of the institution, and abdicated.

I think an end to the royals is as likely as a Harry-Meghan split, but the former would be a good thing. Talking about an H-M divorce as inevitable is a bit distasteful; talking about an end to the royal nonsense – hallelujah!

HettysTether · 15/12/2022 17:01

No, Harry is full of hate. He has burnt his bridges. Sad.

JRHartley72 · 15/12/2022 17:03

I think the only way there can be even a smidgeon of a possibility of a reconciliation now is if Harry hastily rewrites his biography to say that when the doc filming was done he was still so angry with his family and so said hurtful stuff in the heat of the moment, but then the Queen's death changed everything, including how he feels about his brother now, except those pesky Netflix bosses wouldn't let them re-edit the final cut and it's really not the version they wanted airing.

100% confident flying pigs will freeze in Hell before that happens.

dropthevipers · 15/12/2022 17:03

I'm old enough to recall the reverend Ian paisley ranting virtually every night on telly in the seventies. If you had told me then that both he and Martin mcguiness would not not only collaborate in a power sharing executive but publicly declare each other to be friends I would think you were on acid, so strange things can and do happen. William and Harry though? Fucked, completely FUBAR.

Princessglittery · 15/12/2022 17:08

PeekAtYou · 15/12/2022 16:00

I imagine it would take decades now. I think that Harry is not going to get what he wants from his father and brother (public apologies and an admission that his truth= the truth) and Willliam isn't going to get what he wants (his brother to shut up about the RF)

Exactly.

workshy46 · 15/12/2022 17:10

I'd be v v surprised if she didn't ditch him in years to come. Their only currency is slagging off the royal family and dishing on life inside the palace. They won't get near the place now and no one will ever speak to them they are so indiscreet. They will do well for another few years but once Williams and Kate's kids come of age the spotlight will be off them anyway. She is clearly v smart and well educated (although no self awareness) and he is clearly the opposite. She will soon tire of him and move onto someone more of her level, and richer.

What happens after Harry's biography is released is going be fascinating, because after that they're done, aren't they – their truth is told, they got what they wanted to say off their chests. But with no close relationship with the Royal family to exploit any longer, what else can they do to raise income?
