Any predictions? Any recommendations?
(And any thoughts when we get the response?).

@Tara336 I would miss Netflix as well! Especially now we are in winter. Much easier to go without it during summer evenings.

youhavenoshameonyourface · 05/12/2022 17:30

I honestly thought they just wanted out, to have the opportunity to live a relatively normal life out of the media and follow their dreams etc.

No.

They have focused ALL their effort on being fully IN the media: talk shows, exclusive interviews, writing books and now a television SERIES! - not even a documentary - a 6 part series!! They have invited film crews into their lives continuously for the last 2 years. Harry is financially milking being born into royalty and his wife is loving playing the martyr to get the money rolling in. What happened to Harry dressing up as a Nazi? Isn't Megan at all offended by that? The biggest human symbol of racism and intolerance and cultural supremacy of ALL TIME?!! They are both huge, huge hypocrites. The RF should totally turn their back on them. I feel sorry for their children having to grow up with a rift being created in their family. They won't know their cousins and uncles and aunties. Poor kids.

stuntbubbles · 05/12/2022 17:34

But they never said they wanted fully out! They said they wanted financial independence and to live elsewhere while still contributing service to the Queen as working royals! Then the RF began frantically briefing to create this narrative that a Hollywood actress and a man whose whole life has been in the public eye wanted privacy – which was always unlikely. They’ve never wanted privacy: they’ve wanted control. And for the death threats to be taken a bit more seriously.

So why are they making this documentary now saying he had to get them out to protect his family, if they didn’t want to be completely out?

LightDrizzle · 05/12/2022 17:40

‘'Memories differ. We love Harry and Meghan and children and wish them well" followed by business as usual is the best response if at all possible

Also agree with this. I wouldn’t strip them of their titles as that would just feed into their victim narrative.

It does annoy me when commentators at large (not on this thread) screech about unfairness in comparison to the Cambridges, now P&PoW, when the 2nd (now 1st) in line to the throne is always exceptional amongst their siblings in terms of precedence. The children of the Sussexes have more in common with the children of the Tindall’s, Beatrice, and Eugenie. Meghan may genuinely not get this but Harry has no excuse.

They’ve made their escape, I’d rather be in Meghan’s position than Katherine’s. I wish they’d crack on with it and keep their whining and truth 🤮for each other.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 05/12/2022 17:40

I think we need some kind volunteer from MN to watch the series and report back. Bit like a poster did with the Finding Freedom book. We got the info, but didn't have to go through the trauma of watching.
Maybe someone else could read 'Spare' and report back?!

^ This please. Six hours of arty photos and waffley drivel is beyond me. But then I got bored of Tiger King after about one and a half episodes.

I hope the RF don't respond at all.

Exactly.

They wanted to trade on their royal titles, keep their prestigious patronages, attend glamorous events and keep all the 'sexy' parts of royal life, while no longer having to open community centres in Wigan.

They only made it about 'racism' and 'security' in a fit of pique when their impossible demands were turned down.

Tbf that’s exactly what I would want too: marry the hot prince, glitz and glamour, not have to shake hands with randoms in grim bits of England. Can’t fault them for preferring Montecito rescue chickens and New York baby showers. Bet Kate hates the gritty bits too but she’s got less choice.

If you are not interested enough to watch it, why do you care enough to comment?

Hot prince?

Carl Philip of Sweden was already married before the balding ginger man child had ever heard of the chick who played the paralegal on 'Suits'.

I think Harry is desperate to keep the missus happy. So he just says yes to anything.

Probably that, but to be fair to Meghan I think he’s thick as mince too so she hasn’t had to be a master manipulator or anything.

I can’t believe how close they’ve become to their depiction in The Windsors 😂. Right down to the barefooted trope.

GyozaGuiting · 05/12/2022 17:54

The thing I find surprising is, how is it 6 episodes? That’s a lot of air time to say ‘we didn’t get on with being British Royals’.
Hopefully once this is done that’s it, once all their ‘truths’ have been spilled and they’ll shut up, they’re becoming like stuck record. It’s clear moaning is one of their key ways to make money though, so they may drone on for years.
Something I know my own life though, the best way to heal is move on, they’re just dragging it out for themselves as well

antelopevalley · 05/12/2022 17:56

@light I don't think any of them are that bright.
I don't like insults though about people's intelligence. That is not something that is their fault.

6 episodes is full on

Cant imagine how they’ll fill it but I guess we’ll
find out. Not sure I will though just hear what others say

There was really no need for all the drama H and M have stirred up. The Tindalls manage perfectly well living a standard upper-middle class life in the countryside, minding their own business and occasionally putting on a posh frock/top hat to attend a family gathering. If that's what H and M wanted they could easily have had it - peace and independence, tick! But they didn't. Despite all their blather they wanted to be famous, rich AND popular. But all they've done is make themselves look childish, spiteful, and not a little bit thick.

onlythreenow · 05/12/2022 18:03

I agree that a dignified silence would be the best repsonse. Just let the silly pair carry on with their whining and self-important pronouncements - eventually everyone will get tired of them (as many already have).

Minding their own business on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, extremely standard.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 05/12/2022 18:07

Mind you I'm the type of person who suddenly needs to clean her windows when the neighbours start arguing on the street. That's the only reason I have windowleen in the house....

I remember listening to a programme back in the 80s/90s that reckoned humans are predisposed to "gossip" and that's why soap operas were so popular. I think it explains reality and augmented reality tv too. Lots of us love a good nosy.

Not very edifying though.

I thought Charles was bad but William is even worse . Ignoring all the speculation about him

What speculation would that be?

No don't bother replying, I think I can guess and it's nasty, mean spirited gossip with no foundation at all.

Quite!

It is. You hear these 2 clamouring for attention then we see shots of W&C doing their job in Boston, looking regal and dignified.

As soon as they lash out with 'harry is a bitter individual and everything he comes out with is deluded bollocks' then they lose the moral highground.

Let H carry on making an absolute fool of himself. Just sad that his allies are egging him on and enabling him.

60smusic · 05/12/2022 18:14

Shocking article in the Daily Mail about their recent Netflix clip release, H&M have used footage of paparazzi for other people and pretended it was theirs.

PrinceYakimov · 05/12/2022 18:17

Can't help thinking this is not what Diana would have wanted for Harry at all.

Despite being very unhappy and wronged in her marriage, her problem was principally Charles and the press, not the institution of royalty itself. She was not someone who wanted to destroy the institution - she was ultimately an aristocrat and a monarchist and she desperately wanted William to be king. She would not have wanted to see Harry estranged from his brother, damaging the family with these constant attacks or trading on her death in this way.

Rinoachicken · 05/12/2022 18:19

I feel sorry for the kids. Imagine, Kate and William having to sit them down and have a conversation “you might hear people saying things at school about our family, about uncle harry and auntie Meghan, some of those things might not be nice”.

Harry and William both had to go through this when their parents did interviews - and both have acknowledged how damaging and painful of was for them.

That Harry would actively CHOOSE to put his niece and nephews through the same thing is pretty disgusting. His own kids are young enough to be oblivious - but Kate and Wills kids are not.

antelopevalley · 05/12/2022 18:23

@Rinoachicken They go to school, with many well-off people who will also get public criticism of parents. It will not be that unusual.
And many children get far worse when their parents are accused in the papers of murder or rape.
