Any predictions? Any recommendations?
(And any thoughts when we get the response?).

OP posts:

So, Harry has eventually apologised for (some) acts of racism he has committed, but now intends to turn the spotlight on the RF and their racism, even after apologies were made for the Hussey incident both by the lady involved and by the palace, within hours of the incident taking place.

So Prince Harry is allowed to grow and change, and that allows him to shine a spotlight, but the RF aren't allowed the same courtesy? Harry has been overtly racist on more than one occasion but he's now an expert?

I don't think he comes across as insincere at all

I agree he doesn't appear inauthentic but I'm not sure how to judge his authenctity based on clips of small talk and some of his big ticket events.
I think the close up recording of the royals conversations with the public is really harmful and makes for trite little soundbites.Imagine queueing for hours to talk a few words of nonsense with a royal or to grab for their hands.

Serenster · 08/12/2022 09:59

Harry hasn’t apologised for calling someone the P word.
Never acknowledged it.

A spokesman apologised on his behalf at the time, but only saying he didn’t mean to upset his friend, not mention of how it would affect Asian people who saw that video. Brushed it off as banter basically.

Yeah, it’s just “bantz” right. Just like Azeem Rafiq being called “P*” as a nickname by the Nottingham Cricket Team. Also dismissed as banter, until he spoke out about how hurtful and dehumanising it was. Did anyone ever ask Harry’s colleague how he felt about it?

Harry has never apologised for his racism.

@Coxspurplepippin There are other apologies. As I said just bloody google.
You can dismiss his apologies, that is fine. But I want people to stick to facts.
No other member of the royal family has ever apologised for their racism.

BellePeppa · 08/12/2022 10:01

anexcellentwoman · 08/12/2022 08:33

No one who is pro Meghan and Harry ever reply to a post about this particular incident of racism from Harry, apart from the poster who denied that it was racism.
I would like to hear from a pro M and H poster about how they can defend racism directed against Muslims

Or when he (Harry) told the black comedian Stephen K Amos “you don’t sound black”. Why is this being swept under the carpet? There is no sugar coating or excusing that.

Tillsforthrills · 08/12/2022 10:07

Spot on. Only Harry is allowed to be racist and have apologists. If he can move on from it but no one else would ever get away with that in the RF.

As for telling a comedian “you don’t sound black” well…unreal.

cyclamenqueen · 08/12/2022 10:11

antelopevalley · 08/12/2022 09:38

Harrys racism is not okay. But he has apologised multiple times for it.
Are people never allowed to learn and change?

He has never apologised. The Palace ( those people who never defend him) have issued statements on his behalf

PicturesOfDogs · 08/12/2022 10:15

antelopevalley · 08/12/2022 09:54

Why will none of you ever bloody google!

“Prince Harry fully understands how offensive this term (Paki) can be, and is extremely sorry for any offence his words might cause,” the spokesman said.
“However, on this occasion three years ago, Prince Harry used the term without any malice and as a nickname about a highly popular member of his platoon.
“There is no question that Prince Harry was in any way seeking to insult his friend.”
The spokesman said Harry had used “raghead” to mean a Taliban or Iraqi insurgent."

The only member of the royal family who has had to apologize for being racist is Prince Harry'
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9438597/The-royal-apologize-racist-Prince-Harry-Piers-Morgan-speaks-out.html

Exactly, this is a statement from a spokesman.

Please link an apology from Harry.

You can’t, because it never happened.

HE has never once acknowledged it.

That statement might be enough for you, but surely you can understand for many it’s simply not good enough. He needs to show accountability. Especially when he’s receiving awards for exposing racism or whatever it was for.

IcedPurple · 08/12/2022 10:18

Didn't Harry also supposedly say that his new girlfriend Chelsy Davy was from Zimbabwe but 'she's not black or anything, you know'?

? I said he'd apologised.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/12/2022 10:22

I've never been quite clear on why people keep repeating "Harry apologised" when it's provably not true - perhaps they hope that by claiming the same thing again and again it'll eventually be believed?

stuntbubbles · 08/12/2022 10:22

@antelopevalley My Google must be broken because all that comes up is spokesperson statements. Obviously there was his “leave Meghan alone and stop being racist” press release but he’s never actively, in his own words, confronted his own past.

Coxspurplepippin · 08/12/2022 10:24

And lady Hussey and the palace apologised immediately to Ngozi Fulani. So as I said, Prince Harry is allowed to learn and change to the extent he's now an expert, but nobody else is allowed the same courtesy?

Readinginthesun · 08/12/2022 10:27

@antelopevalley correct me if I am wrong but I don’t think he ( spokesperson) ever apologised for wearing a Nazi uniform . And please don’t come out with the “ William made him wear it” crap . He was a grown man and , as we see, pleases himself .

SirChenjins · 08/12/2022 10:28

Harry hasn’t apologised - his spokespeople have issued statements on his behalf. He hasn’t even acknowledged it at any point, but he’s been incredibly quick of the mark to shout about others being racist. The hypocrisy and willingness from certain people around H&M to look the other way is jaw dropping - but I suppose money talks.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/12/2022 10:28

It's not about your google settings, stuntbubbles; it doesn't produce an apology from Harry himself because one doesn't exist (if it did then presumably this would be linked instead of yet more articles which show the claim to be untrue)

Amusing, though, that it's made by someone who "wants people to stick to the facts" ...

Novella4 · 08/12/2022 10:34

I think google has a lot do with it actually

I read about the man who came up with the earthshot idea years ago and now I can't find any reference to him . Just pages of William bullshit

SirChenjins · 08/12/2022 10:35

…and preaches about being ‘authentic’

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/12/2022 10:36

And Lady Hussey and the palace apologised immediately to Ngozi Fulani

In fairness, wasn't that a palace statement too? According to the BBC, Buckingham Palace said: "We take this incident extremely seriously and have investigated immediately to establish the full details.
In this instance, unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments have been made. We have reached out to Ngozi Fulani on this matter, and are inviting her to discuss all elements of her experience in person if she wishes
In the meantime, the individual concerned would like to express her profound apologies for the hurt caused and has stepped aside from her honorary role with immediate effect
All members of the household are being reminded of the diversity and inclusivity policies which they are required to uphold at all times

I guess at least she was got rid of straight away - not that they had much choice with the row overshadowing W&K's arrival in the US - but did it ever become clear whether they really had "reached out" to Ngozi or not?

H was 24 years old when he said the following to Stephen K Amos:

"The comedian, who lives in south-west London, said: "Harry said: 'Hello you don't sound like a black chap.'" Mr Amos added: "I wanted to say: 'How is one supposed to sound?'" His fellow panellist Lowri Turner and presenter Matthew Wright gasped."

H was on his third racist incident by then, not including the fun partywear (which makes at least four high profile public incidents).

CathyorClaire · 08/12/2022 10:43

Haven't RTFT yet but in response to OP's original question I posted this article on another thread detailing the RF's alleged plans:

www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1706713/royal-family-prince-harry-meghan-markle-documentary-netflix-dxus

Seems there may be up to 100 potential skeletons rattling round their closet all of which have to be planned for.

100! and that's just the ones that it's thought may come tumbling out. How much else is there they want to keep hidden?

Answering myself is a first .

I found something on Twitter.

The winner of the Goldman prize in 2008 - there was a reference to an 'earthshot ' in the spirit of JFK. I don't know if the winner made the reference or a commentator .
No mention of wanting to spend 12 million on PR first either

I thought the millions were spent on putting "planet saving" ideas into action. Not on P.R.

Well I suppose it’s similar to Invictus - Harry saw something he liked and developed his own version . Nothing wrong with that . William is doing the same with Earthshot .
