Any predictions? Any recommendations?
(And any thoughts when we get the response?).

I think they will have to put out some kind of statement following the documentary and the book shite. Its going to be so damaging and so vindictive to the RF they will need to say something, but it seems either way they will be damned.

I think probably kill them with kindness in a passive agressive way !

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 07/12/2022 18:47

TBF we have no idea that it is going to be so damaging to the RF. It might be boring as shit with loads of arty photos.

Yes something simple like 'the Sussexes were supported and encouraged every step of the way. We couldn't agree to their 'Sussex Royal' plans and this has clearly angered them a great deal. They remain much loved members of the family'.

I should put myself forward as a Palace aid really.

I agree they will need to act. Charles needs to put the monarchy first over the fact harry is his son, he will need to act decisively and put a stop to these attacks. They can’t let it go unremarked, unmanaged, it’s too damaging,

`the worst thing is, Meghan and harry are acting in public like they feel total and utter glee with themselves.Meghan loves the attention, it makes her live and harry loves when Meghan is happy.

Yes it will lots of overstyled shots, slo mo scenes and sad faces. They're an absolute joke.

ajandjjmum · 07/12/2022 19:00

I have every confidence that the RF will nail it. Look at the elegant solution to the Counsellors of State situation. I thought they would sack Harry and Andrew and appoint others in their place. They haven't - they've just appointed others - so H & A can't whinge, but we all know that hell will freeze over before they're used.

Hopefully there are other plans in place to keep H & M in their box, without seeming petty and vindictive.

Surely Charles can find a bauble of some sort that would honour Kate, to spell out loud and clear where his loyalty lies.

Rhondaa · 07/12/2022 19:06

'I have every confidence that the RF will nail it'

Yes and you can't help thinking if H had 'receipts' we'd have heard of them by now. It'll just be a prolonged re run of Winfrey with a few more outfits and lots of glossy close up, intrusive pics from their very own photographer who appeared to be employed from the outset..

In the (unlikely) event of there being are any genuinely serious accusations, they need to be dealt with head on.

Otherwise, stone cold silence. No 'recollections may vary'. Nothing. Treat these clowns with the contempt they deserve. After the 'memoirs' it's hard to see what more they can drag out of their barely 2 years as a royal couple. Though you never know with these two.

IcedPurple · 07/12/2022 19:09

Charles can find a bauble of some sort that would honour Kate, to spell out loud and clear where his loyalty lies.

I think the fact that both he and Queen Camilla are attending the filming of Kate's carol service on the 15th, the same day that part two of the 'documentary' airs, is significant.

That is lovely isn't it. What a powerful message to be sending out about the importance of loyalty and support particularly at Christmas. H will be apoplectic and no doubt release another load of whispery poor me crap.

I agree. I felt very touched on Kate's behalf when it was announced yesterday.

I wouldn't go that far, but you have to wonder what they've made of the YouTube comments.

@ajandjjmum I didn't know about the Counsellors of State thing. Clever! Don't fuel the fire.

CaptainBarbosa · 07/12/2022 19:20

I think if a full blown attack on Kate is fine, which some are anticipating the palace will fight back. She's the future queen, and I think between the brothers the gloves will come off.

The bullying report will get "leaked" and everything they ever swept up about Harry will slowly become "uncovered" cocaine binges, calling colleagues P (there was more but it was buried apparently).

Harry has been a very naughty boy for a while, he definitely isn't the Messiah.

Coronateachingagain · 07/12/2022 19:27

The Suits fans should tune in for some nostalgic good acting

Yes. This gesture will send out a very clear signal but there is absolutely no way even they could complain about it.

Like I say, unless there are seriously damaging accusations made, which I doubt, I think the royals just need to ride this one out. The Harkles would just love a media war with the royals, so best not to indulge them.

That Prince Philip was going to arrange a car crash 👀

Words can be so powerful. I am enjoying the word 'whispery' here. 😏

I can't believe that - too chancy. If they'd wanted to get rid of Diana an "overdose in a luxury Hotel" would have been easier to manage. Marilyn Monroe style. And as for arranging a car crash in a foreign capital - far too complicated.

That made me 😂. I haven’t heard that word used for ages😂😂

Me neither. Think the etymology of berk is Cockney rhyming slang -Berkley hunt=cunt.

BedTaker · 07/12/2022 19:55

I think they will just grey rock - although I would quite enjoy another 'recollections may vary', that was classic!

I really don't understand what Harry and Meghan are trying to achieve at this stage. You either love them or hate them by now and never the twain shall meet, so they aren't going to change anyones minds.

SqueakyDinosaur · 07/12/2022 19:57

The Prince Philip arranged the car crash trope is rather undermined by the fact that the investigation showed she would almost certainly have survived if she'd worn a bloody seatbelt.

upinaballoon · 07/12/2022 19:57

In a setting far away from the RF, A once said about B, "He loves being noticed. Any comment is a good comment for him. So the best thing to do is to completely ignore him."

It depends what they say. The trailer has Harry saying that he had to keep his family safe. Safe from what, is what Netflix wants me to wonder. Could he be implying that the Duke of Gloucester was always skulking around Kensington Palace with a loaded pistol in his hand, or is it a replay of him saying that he had to move his family from the 'toxic British press'. I know a woman who said Meghan went and stayed away in the autumn of 2019 (was it 19) and basically said that she was staying there and if he didn't join her that was it. Who knows? The wild man of the mountains - that's whooo knows.

I still can’t believe he accepted that award

He doesn't seem to understand that the royal family give out awards and don't receive them. Anne and Zara won Sports Personality of the Year but that was sport not being a humanitarian. Diana did receive an award for her humanitarian work. But then she actually did some work and was a humanitarian, Speaking of which, they presented Harry with a photo of his mother. Why?
