Any predictions? Any recommendations?
(And any thoughts when we get the response?).

I think if a full blown attack on Kate is fine, which some are anticipating the palace will fight back. She's the future queen, and I think between the brothers the gloves will come off.

The bullying report will get "leaked" and everything they ever swept up about Harry will slowly become "uncovered" cocaine binges, calling colleagues P (there was more but it was buried apparently).

Harry has been a very naughty boy for a while, he definitely isn't the Messiah.

I wondered this.

If the gloves come off, will all the ‘buried’ stuff about Harry start being unearthed?

I’m pretty sure there are some documents under lock and key relating to Meghan’s life pre Harry . There are simply too many hints for some of them not to be true .
Charles and William (probably more so) will only be pushed so far .

I agree, if anyone’s going to push the nuclear button, it will be William.

I bet he’s absolutely fuming with that photo of Kate being in the trailer, dramatic audio and all

He doesn't seem to understand that the royal family give out awards and don't receive them. Anne and Zara won Sports Personality of the Year but that was sport not being a humanitarian. Diana did receive an award for her humanitarian work. But then she actually did some work and was a humanitarian, Speaking of which, they presented Harry with a photo of his mother. Why?

Maybe this is actually at the core of his anger 😂 He was always giving the shiny awards away, and nobody gave him one. So now he's on a mission to "rebel" and like Sheldon Cooper has his eye on a Nobel prize.

It's funny because that made me realise that I never picture Catherine being fuming. I just kind of picture her getting on with being a mum and, you know, queen-in-waiting.

And then I thought, "I'm making shit up" which is what I despise in these conversations about the royals.

No one’s given William one either I don’t think.

RosettaStormer · 07/12/2022 20:14

It’s a pretty big prize being born a Prince.

HeddaGarbled · 07/12/2022 20:20

The big questions are whether Harry is going to directly implicate William in the placing of negative stories about Meghan in the media, and whether either of them are going to say anything about William’s alleged affair. Those really would be explosive & if William doesn’t respond effectively, most people will assume that those rumours are true.

anexcellentwoman · 07/12/2022 20:41

Prince Harry used very racist language about colleagues in the army.
amp.theguardian.com/uk/2009/jan/12/prince-harry-video-pakistani
I think because his comments were about Muslims most people ignored Harry's use of such racist terms. There was a lot of condemnation from Muslim Groups. I wonder how Meghan would feel if Harry had made the comments about black colleagues rather than 'brown' Muslims.

anexcellentwoman · 07/12/2022 20:43

I had huge sympathy for the Muslim colleagues at the time and I thought Prince Harry should have been sacked for his racist language and racist attitude to them

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 07/12/2022 21:03

Heck, that article is tough reading. And probably the strongest example of a Royal being racist ☹️
He did apologise for using the p-word though, something I have seen denied.

what a sorry mess the whole thing is.

He didn’t apologise publicly.

Nor acknowledge it publicly. I think he got sent on some sort of diversity awareness programme, and an apology must have been issued from somewhere, because I’ve seen it ‘reported’ he apologised, but there was no official statement put out on his behalf, or anything that actually had his name on it.
He has certainly never mentioned it publicly.
The family definitely swept that one away for him.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 07/12/2022 21:21

Thanks for clarifying. You are absolutely right of course.

He has never once apologised for it or even referenced it.

In the article it quotes Cameron as saying he did.

Was it not “ sorry if I caused offence “ type of apology? I never feel these are sincere .

JustLyra · 07/12/2022 21:59

He never apologise directly or himself.

St James’ Palace said that he was very apologetic. They nullified it instantly though with a “…but he didn’t mean any malice. Was a friends nickname” etc

PicturesOfDogs · 07/12/2022 22:13

No, not even that.

It never acknowledged the offence caused by the wider community. Just said ‘he didn’t mean to offend his friend, it was a nickname’

Justmuddlingalong · 07/12/2022 22:26

Imagine naming one of your kids after the matriarch and head of a business/firm/family who treated you like shit, condoned racist, mentally abusive and gaslighting behaviour towards you? And using the pet name at that.

milti · 07/12/2022 22:27

Homophobic as well - what a tosspot

David Cameron, of the Panama Papers family and another ultra privileged white man?

imagine they all asked Harry to apologise, and he wouldn’t… as he still hasn’t… otherwise at some point he would have done so directly. It’s too late anyway, shown us who he is.

This is what I have never been able to understand.

They were apparently treated soooooo badly, slagged off the family to literally the entire world, and then a few weeks later gave their daughter the Queens really intimate nickname?

As the young'uns say: make it make sense!

Coronateachingagain · 07/12/2022 23:19

@BedTaker the Queen was the eldest, the matriarch, the one with the power, and most importantly the one with the money. Last chance to get a nice slice, because they won't get it from Charles for a while at least. Gotta be nice if you know what I mean

user1477391263 · 07/12/2022 23:51

I don't know how much control M&H had over the contents of the Netflix series, but whoever decided to include fibs and half truths has done them no favors. It will just provide ammunition towards those who want to dismiss any points they are trying to make that might actually be valid. I think a lot of press coverage of this pair was extremely mean spirited and OTT; sticking carefully to the truth would have been a better way to make this point. As it is, there will be no self-reflection about unpleasant press treatment, because the focus will be on fact-checking all the fibs.

Agree! It seems crazy! And then attending the funeral and being in bits about the passing of the matriarch. And then stand side by side with your brother and your dad, knowing you're going to slag them off with millions of people a few weeks later. I don't get it either.
