Your argument is like Obama leaving office, moving to the UK to live but still going around calling himself President of the USA. It's farcical (and, at the very least, a huge embarrassment to the good people of Sussex).

Not sure what you are trying to illustrate here. There is only 1 president at a time, so others are called 'former' and are still entitled to certain things like security etc.

Don't know what the people of Essex would be embarrassed about for a Duke who only resigned.
