It feels like we're being slowly prepared for her passing away. I feel unexpectedly tearful.

@TeeBee your ex should be under a non disclosure agreement. So shouldn't really be talking about the work or the website.

Probably didn't expect his ex to be flapping her gums all over and posting on Mumsnet. 😄

PollyEsther · 08/09/2022 13:47

Yes. I suspect hours, rather than days.

It is rather sobering isn't it? I'm surprised at how upset I am feeling. I think it's a sadness, not only for Her Majesty, but for what feels like the end of an era of constancy.

Sad

Anne, Andrew, Edward all en route now.

i think that confirms it doesn't it :( I'm shocked by how sad I feel about this.

She was hanging to make certain Johnson was gone I expect. She looked very frail in that photo. I hope she has a peaceful death.

Now is really not the time. Jesus.

I think she'll be gone by February.

Without being too ghoulish about it - I think it's more imminent than that. The announcement just now seemed more like a pre-warning to soften the blow in the next few days to me. Maybe/hopefully I'm wrong.

Agreed, I wouldn't be surprised if it was today or tomorrow. All her children are now travelling to be with her.

Goldpaw · 08/09/2022 13:50

Crumbs, I'm in tears here. I'm a Republican through and through but the Queen as so many have said has been the one constant throughout my life of half a century. She has been Head of State since my mum was 19!

I despise everything Royalty stand for, but good grief, I don't want her to leave us just yet.

I'm not ready!

TwinGirlsOnTheWay · 08/09/2022 13:50

Not tearful at all. She tried to use public poverty relief money to heat her palaces and defended her utterly indefensible son. The sooner the monarchy is gone in this country, the better

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 08/09/2022 13:51

It’s sad isn’t it, what a remarkable life she has lived. She seems to have gone down hill rapidly since Phillip died.

Think she knew when Phillip went she was happy to go whenever

yes

CaptainBarbosa · 08/09/2022 13:52

I think the fact all her children are en-route and the next two heirs means it's serious.

I expect it will be in the next few days.

I'm not sure why I feel sad, it's not like I know her or ever met her, but I think maybe it's just the though of that constant coming to an end. She's been The Queen all my life so far, and I will probably see Prince Charles and William become kings, (William is a few years older than me)

But for some reason I feel more sad at the thought of Old Lizzy going. 😳

TheSpottedZebra · 08/09/2022 13:52

Huw now in a black tie.

workiskillingme · 08/09/2022 13:53

Yes and lots of people running about in the background

Huw now in a black tie.

Yes, I've just noticed that.

Comedycook · 08/09/2022 13:53

In the past few months we've had lots of announcements about her health and pulling out of engagements but this definitely seems different. Won't be long I sadly think.

workiskillingme · 08/09/2022 13:53

They sound very shocked and tearful

TheSpottedZebra · 08/09/2022 13:53

But Nicholas Witchell in a jaunty blue tie, the rogue!

OrangePumpkinLobelia · 08/09/2022 13:53

I was about to say. The others switched to black jackets but dark non-black ties.

I know it had to come one day but I am really sad.

snowballer · 08/09/2022 13:54

Oh god. Huw Edwards is now on, and he's in a black tie.

Sorry, I was behind there!

Ooh Sky saying Harry and Meghan on their way.

emmathedilemma · 08/09/2022 13:57

"prepare for the worst" on the BBC

Saynotothefishtank · 08/09/2022 13:59

She’s 96, her husband died last year, it would be surprising to live much longer.

My guess from the family movement is that her doctors have advised that she’s entered the ‘active dying’ stage which usually takes about three days to complete.

Cudz · 08/09/2022 14:00

@TheSpottedZebra yes I just saw this now too. I think from this we now all know what is really happening. Poor Queen such a strong lady. Lets hope the media give her and her family the dignity that she deserves. Regardless of whether or not she's the Queen, she is still a mother and a grandmother with family that love her and will be broken hearted by this.
