You can’t think of a single reason that an Irish person might not generally feel great affection toward the British monarchy? 😬

Even if it wasn’t a comment about the history of British colonisation of Ireland, surely it can just be read as ‘I’m not even from the UK but even I feel sad about it’?

I'm going to sound ridiculous now, but I actually miss her already - at times like these she would pop up on the telly with some words of wisdom to gee us up a bit, alas...

Although I don't quite have the same affection for King Charles, I will respect him and I am thankful for a lot of the work he has done especially for disadvantaged kids. The affection may well grow in time. Same goes for Queen Camilla, I have a lot of respect and gratitude for the work she has done around domestic abuse. I don't feel I "get" her quite yet, but I don't hold any grudges for what has happened in the past. What's done is done and if Princes William and Harry can accept it then so can I.
