It feels like we're being slowly prepared for her passing away. I feel unexpectedly tearful.

Rest in Peace and God Bless.

OrangePumpkinLobelia · 08/09/2022 18:54

God Bless The Queen.

Long LIve The King.

I am raising a glass to her and the family. And to everyone else who lost a loved one today.

MakingNBaking · 08/09/2022 18:57

To your well deserved rest.

CaveMum · 08/09/2022 18:58

Looking through the pictures on the BBC website, I know it’s been said many times but she was a beautiful young woman.

CaptainBarbosa · 08/09/2022 19:01

May she rest in peace, what a historic reign she had.

Long live the King.

CatsandFish · 08/09/2022 19:01

Well may she rest in peace. Flowers

I think this is all the more shocking as we saw the Queen on Tuesday and although frail she didn’t look near the end.

I feel bloody annoyed that she had to do her job and meet with those two idiots this week instead of spending her last days with her family and companions.

I firmly believe she wanted to carry out her sovereign duty till the very end, which is what she did.

I think she was absolutely doing what she wanted.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 08/09/2022 19:17

She really was dedicated and devoted until her final hours.
God bless her as I raise my glass

I agree. She fulfilled her promise to her people.

MissyB1 · 08/09/2022 19:19

The world feels really weird at the moment, this sad news has added to that feeling. I think it’s a feeling of insecurity about the future.

SolarLanterns · 08/09/2022 19:19

RIP 🕯

Will we ever hear the national anthem with God save the Queen e.g. at her funeral? I guess not?

Surely there's no one on this thread who thinks it either hasn't happened or is imminent?
BBC would look pretty stupid wouldn't they?
I will add to this... Don't flame me but my adult DDs best friend's Grandma is in the HoL. She heard at 3 ish too and it was a stroke

I suggested a stroke.

It was obviously something she couldn't medically come back from (hence remaining at home).

And it's really hard not to know when people have to reap wind under operation LB. If you related to someone as much as they may not tell you just them leaving the house in a certain uniform etc is a clue when they've made it clear she isn't expected to survive.

The announcement wouldn't have been made otherwise.

Duty to the end.

So her legacy will be that she always did her job whilst she could.

Turns out you didn't need to know someone the Royal Family or top government. So naïve .

The BBC don't just pull all that coverage out of their arse. There's hundreds of people involved in news production and the technicalities of taking stuff of air and changing schedules . It doesn't happen on a whim. There will be bods on standby all over the place and moving into prepared protocols.

Robin233 · 08/09/2022 21:28

Wonderful women.
Duty till the end.

RIP

userxx · 08/09/2022 21:34

@sunglassesonthetable you're coming across as smug. Not a nice trait.

Probably layed out in her bed at Balmoral for the family to pay their respects before the public do.
