As the last thread filled up & there's plenty of discussion of Meghan's interview in The Cut, seems worthwhile starting a new thread!

A read yesterday that a series of media interviews are planned to promote the podcasts. Should be very interesting if The Cut interview is anything to go by!

(black cab drive = understand that he is black and plain)

I don’t understand what you’re trying to say here?

Black cab - Dog whistle, not only treat a royal baby like this, but go for this example.
And the other reporter referring to a baby as 'it'. Associating a baby as will be spoiled - he could not even speak at the time.
Disgusting !

I will post them, you all claim ignorance now and say it was just 3 articles. MM will protect her children who are treated like this.

I wonder if the PR company and M herself read and then approved the article for publication?

If MM did have a chance to read it first, I suspect she would have heartily approved of it. Which is rather the point.

She would indeed, but she is also paying her PR company to look after her image and pick up on stuff like this.

Readinginthesun · 30/08/2022 09:24

Where to start ? ??

There are very strict rules in the U.K. about photographing ALL children. . Archie and lilibet would be no different.

The “ fire “ story was apparently confirmed by a source close to the Sussex camp . According to everyone else it was a non story . I do think there needs to be an official statement clarifying this and other allegations otherwise some posters are going to continue going around perpetuating lies and exaggerations .

Readinginthesun · 30/08/2022 09:24

That was in response to @notanotheroneagain

Badger1970 · 30/08/2022 09:25

I think the RF have been tone deaf in how they've let H & M carry on with this campaign of war against them .... and the same in how Andrew is still living a life of utter privilege and luxury.

Sadly, by the time Charles takes the helm and then William, the damage will be irrepairable. It's completely changed my view on having a RF.

Maireas · 30/08/2022 09:26

I think you have good points, @notanotheroneagain - but I those l think are from the sewer of social media. We've all seen terrible examples of celebrities, politicians, and others being abused like this and generally it is detrimental to mental health.
I don't think there's a solution to that - but if it's newspapers or other msm, she needs to name and shame.

Wheresthebeach · 30/08/2022 09:27

They seem obsessed with attacking the RF and with constant threats of 'truth bombs'. Thank God they were only 'working' Royals for a short time. It's terribly sad, I can't imagine anyone in the family speaking to them as everything will be reported to the press - all designed to make them look like victims. At some point, the press, and people will get bored.

Those embroidered 'chairs' and the 'dancing in the street just like when Mandela was freed' tell you everything you need to know. I can only hope that the podcast's etc bomb and they stop getting so much media attention.

NorthernMountainCaribou · 30/08/2022 09:28

I read the articled yesterday after Omid Scobie posted it. Given his status in relation to the Sussexes I just assumed it would be a puff piece.

It must be one of the most bizarre interviews I have read. I also got the feeling the journalist was being very snarky in places but following it with gushing niceness. It felt so disjointed, almost dream like.

The Harry cameos are just becoming embarrassing, a bit like the scene in Bridgerton when the Queen's husband comes wandering into the wedding escaping his carers.

The Mandela comparison was so badly thought out. The journalist is at pains to point out that Meghan does not think she is a Mandela but why on earth would you compare yourself to him. It just invites ridicule.

Snog · 30/08/2022 09:28

@notanotheroneagain
"The Cambridges have a specific contract with the press and you all know the Sussex kids would have been offered up in exchange for cambrige kids puff stories. There is always too much interest in the Sussexes and you know it."
I don't believe the Sussex children would have been "offered up" in exchange for stories about the Cambridge children. That's just a weird thing to say. Are other royal children being constantly papped? Does anyone actually care about or have any interest in Archie and Lilibet?

The Sussexes hyperactively court publicity and this is why there is interest in them. They also court controversy and millions of people find their behaviour entitled and full of hypocrisy. They want the benefits of being royal without the responsibility. They fling a lot of mud.

I’m sorry I’m generally quite on the ball but what do you mean by understand that he is black and plain?

I have no idea what this stuff means either .

SammyScrounge · 30/08/2022 09:34

Maireas · 30/08/2022 08:05

There were two things that stood out, really. The first is that her child was called the N word in the British press. Does anyone know when or where this happened?
Secondly, that she could not have had Archie educated in the UK because there would have been 40 paps at pick up time. Does she not know children are protected from this? Has she seen examples which concerned her?
For all the gloss, it wasn't a happy picture.

She's a fantasist. What is interesting is that Harry goes along with it. He must know that she lies.

Ohnonevermind · 30/08/2022 09:35

I’m quite looking forward to the Netflix documentary, I think it might be unintentionally hilarious - like a true version of this is spinal tap

I do expect plenty of tapping, and gutteral moaning and South Africans dancing on the streets 🤣

tattychicken · 30/08/2022 09:37

I think the "I'm going back on Instagram!" and the subsequent back-pedalling was a veiled threat to the RF. There were a few during the interview. Rather unpleasant.

NorthernMountainCaribou · 30/08/2022 09:38

I wonder if the school gate comments were because she knows that inevitably next week there will be photos of the Cambridge children attending their first day at their new school in Windsor.

In reality this is the annual photo op for the press on the grounds that the rest of the year they are left alone. And it links in with the rest of the nation posting pictures of their own children's first days back at school on social media.

For the Sussex camp though - this is evidence that they were right.

notanotheroneagain · 30/08/2022 09:41

This his the thing with these threads, with people constantly claiming ignorance. Maybe you don't see the dogwhistles yourself, I can't really help you. I gave the link.
These links are from real journalist who constantly comment on the RF - in fact, Myers seems to be the spokesperson on Lorraine.

The RRs may have been given the rules about the royals, but there are other ways around this, because it's not a rule for everyone, and most publications, use agencies to do this bidding.
Now and again we do get papping of the royals, either driving to church etc. so it's easy to take pics of MM, but the written article then talks about 'her' and Archie's 'reaction' - most likely small digs will be put in about his behaviour . Archie in the meantime is not under protection.

There was also the time that H&M were told they are stripped of security, then the press were tipped off about their location. That was in all the papers and presented in a certain negative way.

SpinCityBlues · 30/08/2022 09:41

I've just checked out the journalist and some of her other writing. Allison P Davis is a senior writer for the Cut and New York Magazine, has a cracking sense of humour, and an excellent writing style (I find a lot of US journalism a bit turgid but not hers). A black woman who lives in New York, she takes no shit about racism (see: other articles). She is the wordsmith that Meghan Sussex is not.

I somehow doubt she came away from that interview a fan.

StickywithSuncream · 30/08/2022 09:42

The black cab driver comment surely related to London Taxis being black? You know, the iconic taxi all over the streets of London. Not that the driver would be black.

She seems to misunderstand and misinterpret everything that goes on in the family. I can't help feeling that the last thing she wants is for Harry to reconcile with his family, so she keeps adding grist to the mill.

I wonder if he can discriminate truth from fiction any longer himself. He's a very confused man I think. He believes she represents the 'real world' and has understandings and insights he does not. He appears to swallow her whole agenda hook line and sinker. I do wonder though if one day the light will go on and he'll realise just what he's lost and how he has damaged his reputation beyond repair.

notanotheroneagain · 30/08/2022 09:46

The fire did happen. The heater melted.

The person seems to have been their person from SA (maybe a guide or caretaker or whatever you call him), so technically on Sussex Team.

The British press first lied and said there was no fire. They lied.

He then says :
The source said the fire was not reported.

“When we were outside, we discussed what we are going to do about this. It was a new heater that was just purchased and the consensus was ‘guys this is gonna look bad for us or for Cape Town, South Africa, or for whoever.’”

The British Police guys actually told us ‘guys just leave it as is, don’t talk about this.’”

The source says the royals could no longer live in the official residence.

“What was significant is, we immediately moved out of that house. But the second place, where they went to, was not even five minutes away from the official residence where we were stationed and none of us were told where they were staying after the fire.”

But if you can’t explain what you mean then how are people to understand your point?

mateysmum · 30/08/2022 09:47

We have discussed it many times on here about how she never lied at the interview, with the British press twisting what she said.

OK, so they got married in their back garden did they?

Georgeskitchen · 30/08/2022 09:47

The UK media have an agreement with the RF that they will only publish official photos of the children and will not pap them. They have always abided by this agreement. I have no recollection of any MSM referring to Archie and Lilibet as the N word. Sadly there is little control over what is posted on social media.
I've said all along that I think Meghan believed she would be front and centre of the RF when she married Harry, which was never going to happen because the Queen is front and centre and nobody, however poised, popular and beautiful, upstages the Queen ( not even Diana)
Having read the Meghan interviews this morning I believe the clock is ticking rapidly towards the removal of the Duke and Duchess titles

Snog · 30/08/2022 09:48

I too think that Harry reconciling with his family is the absolute last thing that Meghan wants to happen.
