As the last thread filled up & there's plenty of discussion of Meghan's interview in The Cut, seems worthwhile starting a new thread!

A read yesterday that a series of media interviews are planned to promote the podcasts. Should be very interesting if The Cut interview is anything to go by!

She is talking about herself. Which is her favourite topic.with a generous helping of slagging off members of Harry’s family.

Harry and the kids are rolled on in supporting roles cos the general public doesn’t find MM particularly interesting by herself.

She looks like she has hayfever in the first one.

Well the “ horse’s mouth” has a habit of being economical with the truth so no wonder there is scepticism.
Does anyone seriously believe that interview did Meghan many favours ? Her mouthpiece then tied himself in knots trying to “clarify” a direct quote !

@notanotheroneagain I'm not sure why Meghan is not coming out with specific allegations about rascism from individuals and prefers just generally throw shade - "someone" in the royal family asked about Archie's skin colour and the British press apparently used the N word about her. But where is the evidence and how can this be verified or disproved without it?
And why did she choose to marry a man guilty of high profile racist behaviour himself?

For me it’s her stark grandiosity and delusion relaying a claim that people were dancing in the streets for her the same as when Nelson Mandela was released from prison after 27 years…….

I think that she has shown to embellish and exaggerate - even if just a little - repeatedly -so people will in time conclude that everything has to be taken with a pinch of salt and she always has an agenda (ie a contractual remit with $100m?) to throw mud at the BRF.

She could build a much more stable fan base if she left all of that stuff behind and concentrated on the here and now and their future.

Lili seems a proper one. I love the fact she will barely even smile at them and has the watchful look. Makes me think of the Dylan Moran sketch which talks about when how children are born they are just like: this isn’t what I expected and you people are clearly idiots. I need to work to maximise my changes.

Not only the Cambridge children, none of the queens grandchildren or great grandchildren have been papped at the school gates.

I used to really admire her, she came across as so articulate and really seemed to adore Harry, and like most people, I thought she was going to be a great addition to the RF.

I had huge sympathy for her with her family having nothing good to say about her, before her wedding Sadly, the predictions of her crazy sister appear to be coming true.

Yeh, no excuses for Danny Baker. That image was vile, offensive and could only mean one thing.

In every interview MM gives there is at least one provable lie and other oblique references that hint at something that never happened/exaggerations to make her look like a victim - the "real marriage" that took place 3 days before the "public" wedding; the press pack at the school; the idea that Archie wouldn't be a price 'cos racism'; the N word applied to Archie by the tabloid press; the "fire" in South Africa.
And this bringing Harry on stage in every interview like some kind of prop. Anyone would think she needed him to emphasise who she is - the Duchess of Sussex don't ya know!.

She comes across as very passive aggressive. Moved out of the RF a couple of years ago and still can't let go as she didn't get her own way. Why not focus on the positives in her life?

She is very negative and makes some things up. No newspaper in the UK, would ever sign off in using a racist slur (n word). If you're part if the royal family/firm, you are protected by the press, they would not photograph you on the school run. They say they don't want publicity, but she keeps popping up every 4 minutes with a "secret". Youninly have to look at her life before she joined, she fell out with her father, siblings and most of her friends. They ought to just go away and be quiet now.

That journalist from The Cut is a sly bugger. Very clever writing. MM needs to be careful - there are cleverer people than her around her, who don’t use as blunt instruments as the UK tabloids.

There are 3 articles that are mentioned over and over again - the monkey picture, the use of the word ‘niggling’ and the ‘straight out of Compton’ headline. Yet among the tens of thousands of articles about the Sussexes, this is relentless racism.

I agree. I started off thinking this was going to be another 'how wonderful Meghan is' article but when I re read it I thought it was actually very clever and subtle - never openly judgemental but leaves the reader with a definite sense of doubt about who and what Meghan really is.

We have discussed it many times on here about how she never lied at the interview, with the British press twisting what she said. We wrote down all the debunked 'she lied'. You were all here, but you keep going back to something that was already clarified step by step because you have nothing else and want to pick on her.

The Cambridges have a specific contract with the press and you all know the Sussex kids would have been offered up in exchange for cambrige kids puff stories. There is always too much interest in the Sussexes and you know it.

This same press just told us MM lied about the fire, then changed the story. Now the SA press investigated and she told the truth.

We can all read dogwhistles from play of words, Compton, mutt, comparing her to a pig (her oar in), play on words (niggling a play on the n word). We are not stupid. Archie (black cab drive = understand that he is black and plain), play on words that he is frog spawn. I have never seen a royal baby being treated with such contempt
I don't think you can actually write the n word legally, but there are other ways you can dogwhistle.
MM's people would have been standing next to the press and would hear what was said and done- doesn't have to go to print.

The 'I am going back on Instagram' announcement quote was a giveaway. I wonder if the PR company and M herself read and then approved the article for publication? I would have picked up on that immediately. Very strange that they didn't - unless they didn't get to read it first, in which case, a Sunshine Sachs representative needs to absolutely be there at the next one, issuing 'no comment' statements 😀

Agreed. I’ve never read anything racist about her or her children anywhere apart from that. Obviously there are the crazy Twitter trolls, but their opinions are not to be taken seriously. You can find extremists everywhere. They do not represent the general public.

Re the relentless racism and the oft-quoted three examples - when Princess Michael wore that vile brooch, she was roundly condemned (and quite right too) by everyone for being racist.

maybe it was Harry who was pondering about his forthcoming baby’s skin colour? He does have form for being racist, after all. Perhaps that’s why nobody has been named, just a member of the family. (Tongue firmly in cheek here)

If MM did have a chance to read it first, I suspect she would have heartily approved of it. Which is rather the point.

I think she is badly advised or rather taking no advice. These interviews are off the cuff and it will sour in America too as she will have less to say as the RF distance themselves from her.

I would rather they were talking about their achievements than looking back all the time.

Ah they did. William and Harry before boarding school and poor auld Bea and Eug literally everyday during the whole Fergie stuff.

Not any more there is a press injunction about ALL children. You wouldn't play the C children off against the S. Don't know about rules in America. I used to see picks of K Winslet playing her kids to school all the time in New York...but that was many years ago too and those kids are big now too.
