As the last thread filled up & there's plenty of discussion of Meghan's interview in The Cut, seems worthwhile starting a new thread!

A read yesterday that a series of media interviews are planned to promote the podcasts. Should be very interesting if The Cut interview is anything to go by!

I find it hard to believe that John Kani was the only South African there. Not sure, how the DM framed it, as I don't read it.

Was he the one and only south African, or the only one of the main cast.

Don't care. But, whatever. Sounds to me like another voutsekbritishmedia trying to stir up nonsense shit. Are other royals we pay for under this much scrutiny ? As I said, if your going to be forensic, do it for everyone. Same energy.

Remembering that it is MM herself that said cast member. and he would have been introduced to her in the line up so not a random cast member either.

You’re being very silly.

MM would have been well prepared for the event and would have known who was who on the night. Lebo - the man who composed the scores for the Lion King and who wrote the Circle of Life with it’s iconic first line. And she forgot just what his role was? I don’t think so.

But let’s just hope the person who supposedly said it is a gentleman as well as a haverin cuddy and comes to her rescue anyway. It will take a lot of courage for him to say yes, I’m the one who likened her marriage to Nelson Mandela being freed from prison.

The DM didn’t ‘frame it’ Dr Kani confirmed he was the only SA cast member (remember she specified a SA cast member), had never met MM (remember again she specified she met this SA cast member) and had not attended the premiere (again, as specified by MM)

Why is it so difficult for you to accept the truth unless it’s MM’s truth? She’s tripping herself up time and time again - you’d think she’d have leaned by now to rein in her fantasies.

Hilarious. I love the lengths that MM's fans will go to to justify how she can't have been lying about this.

Extras and bit part actors do not get invited to premieres, let alone allowed to mingle with royalty, so that's out for starters.

If it was the composer who supposedly said this (I'm sure he will be asked to verify soon enough) then it doesn't reflect well on her either that she didn't pay any attention to his actual role, and didn't bother to ask at the time or at any time subsequently before repeating an assertion that a cast member said this to her. Details matter, because they are what give you credibility. Or not, in the case of MM.

I'm not 'being silly', I'm being realistic. The premiere was three years ago. Even if she was introduced and told everybody's role on the night, she may have had a mind blip in 2022 when retelling the story. It is a TINY error, mixing up cast and crew, particularly when his voice is right there in the film. It also would serve absolutely no purpose to randomly change the role from cast to crew (assuming it was Lebo M that said it.)

Don't know what you are talking about, but if you see Lindiwe Mkize and Lebo M and others at the press junket, your not going to nitpick what their actual roles are unless you are trying some kind of 'gotcha' moment. Don't think she was.

I mean we do know Meghan has a terrible memory. She also totally forgot drafting lengthy pages of notes to be personally given to Omid Scobie so she could get all the barbs about her half brothers and sisters right in Finding Freedom, don’t forget….

O - maybe everything she said int he Oprah interview is similarly the result of a terrible memory and none of that happened either…!

MM is just not a very nice person. I feel a bit sorry for her actually. What she can't yet see is that it will backfire on her spectacularly one day. Sure as eggs is eggs.

We've already discussed Lebo M, whom nobody who had worked as an actress would describe as a 'cast member'. Meghan said said 'South African cast member' was male, so can't be Lindiwe Mkhize (not "Mkize").

So who were all these male South African cast members at the premiere that night?

If I was so inclined to use such a grandiose anecdote about how amazing I am , I’d check my facts before broadcasting it on Spotify ?
