Some nice Royal news .
It has been announced by BP that she is going to St Andrews University . She will be in good company as I have a young relative starting there too ! When I told her about LL she said “who?” so hopefully HM’s granddaughter will enjoy her years there in peace.
It had also emerged that LL is working p/t in a local garden centre ..
She seems to be a lovely young lady.

No idea who she is either.

but this is the royal news - so you could google

fyi she is the daugher of prince edward, who is the queens youngest son

MintJulia · 19/08/2022 07:37

Prince Edward's daughter.

The Wessex's have done a decent job of keeping out of the public eye. Hopefully LL will be able to study without too much fuss.

It’s disappointing to read negative comments online .

Hope she enjoys her time at Uni. Edward and Sophie seem to have done a good job of raising their children away from the public circus. Good luck to her x

If she got there on merit she will be the 1st member of the royal family ever to go to a university based on their academic ability and personality

But I expect that like all of the others she deprived a more able candidate of a place because of her royal privilege.

EquallyDivided · 19/08/2022 08:30

Good for her, I like the Wessexes.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 19/08/2022 08:38

what is she studying?

William received A, B and C in A levels which was sufficient for St Andrews ( one of the best Unis in the U.K.)

SoupDragon · 19/08/2022 08:41

Good luck to her!

I agree that Edward & Sophie have done a good job of keeping their children out of the public eye. I guess they are far enough from the line of succession that it's easier for them to do so.

LaraLei · 19/08/2022 08:42

Is A,B,C sufficient for St Andrews? When I looked for DS it was all As or all A*. That was for engineering though.

Dadaya · 19/08/2022 08:43

She seems like a nice girl. She’s working and getting paid, which is more than any of the others have ever done. She’s studying an actual academic subject not just a cop-out. And I haven’t heard anything about them faking her grades to get in like they did for Harry.

Hopeandlove · 19/08/2022 08:43

And she’s all over the paper today as the paper has outed the fact she is working in a garden centre. I feel sorry for her - she had a job she adored and there is no need.

AceSpades54321 · 19/08/2022 08:43

I don’t think many of the students will know or care who she is. If it was a famous TikTok celeb or Instagramer it would be a different matter.

Drivebye · 19/08/2022 08:44

Sorry to be cynical and she maybe very bright however I suspect this is another member of the RF awarded a place based on who they are. Meanwhile there are thousands of students with 8/9 at gcse and A and A stat at a level who don't get offered a place........

Drivebye · 19/08/2022 08:45

A B C for St Andrews - only if you're a Royal or a celeb

St Andrews has become much more popular in the last 20 years, partly as a result of William going there.

WinnieTheW0rm · 19/08/2022 08:46

She'll be studying English, minimum offer is ABB, but typical offer is AAA

Her grades haven't been disclosed, but she's reportedly done 4 A levels.

The press have probably known about the garden centre summer job for a while, but have refrained from publishing info on her whereabouts until she left the job (the Wessexes are off to Balmoral to spend some time with the Queen, and she won't be going back to work between their return and her departure tom St Andrews)

AtillatheHun · 19/08/2022 08:47

A BC for St. Andrews 15 years ago - sure. Was CCC 10 years before that.

SoupDragon · 19/08/2022 08:47

She seems to have done 4 A levels (although I don't think family have ever stated this) which means she isn't thick.

MerryChristmasToYou · 19/08/2022 08:48

There was a photo of her in the paper yesterday and she strongly resembled her grandmother in it. She and her brother look like nice young people.
Very best wishes to her and other 18 year olds with their future.

Readinginthesun · 19/08/2022 08:49

I might have known the snide comments would start . I - naively- thought we could have a nice Royal thread for once . Silly me.
