Harry’s legal proceedings against Home Office

Part of Harry’s claim will remain private. The judge has granted that some documentation can be withheld or redacted due to security reasons (seems sensible to me).

But today the judge has berated Harry’s legal team for breaching the court rules when a copy of the rulings were emailed to someone who’s wasn’t a lawyer. Lawyer Shaheed Fatima WC was also berated for coming into court without an apology for the “clear breach” of court rules.

Great they managed a visit
That'll be the end of all the nonstop posts about how awful they are not visiting the Queen I hope

Absolutely - and hopefully also the end of posts about how they can't possibly visit the UK until their security demands are met because it's "far too dangerous"

Ginajo · 15/04/2022 12:22

I know Windsor and I think it's extremely unlikely that they would have walked from Frogmore Cottage to Windsor Castle. If they did walk it's almost certainly because they wanted to be seen.

notanotheroneagain · 15/04/2022 12:24

@JADS

Good grief, W&K aren't in the country because they have school aged children and they have taken them skiing during their school holidays. Or are they not allowed to do that? It's hardly "telling".

If you think the PC and C non mention by the Sussex site is sus, I would suggest that would be because it doesn't suit PH's 'cut
off and abandoned' narrative.

It's important that they visited HMQ, his grandmother, in a private capacity and I'm glad they did it on the down low. She is clearly frail and covid has exhausted her. Not everything has to be a great conspiracy. Looks like they even got adequate security for their needs. Surely that's a win for all?

@JADS Good grief, how many holidays does W&K take? Seems like they are always on holiday.

H has been financially cut off. That is a fact. He was asked in the same interview if PC is taking his calls now, and he said yes he is.

As I had said before, they can visit secretly, but they are not safe for well publicised, known events.

That is why I doubt this even took place at all.

The mail is now asking the public for pics.

Hopefully.

Had enough of the 'poor queen' trope.

queenofarles · 15/04/2022 12:35

I think it’s great , they are all family after all, and they will always be welcomed.

I’m just glad that the very unsafe UK was safe on this particular day, probably it will get back to being unsafe today Who knows.

Samcro · 15/04/2022 12:36

@AnnunciataZ

I also find the talk about the Queen's possible decreasing mobility quite distasteful and ableist. I've seen "she doesn't want to appear in a wheelchair" repeated across the media and on MN a fair bit. Clearly because there's nothing worse than having to use a wheelchair!! Hmm
So agree with that. As the parent of a wheelchair user its a bit annoying
Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/04/2022 12:40

H has been financially cut off. That is a fact

is it?
I don't pretend to know about the RF's private financial arrangements, but would be interested to see any proof for this beyond "Harry said so"

notanotheroneagain · 15/04/2022 12:44

Clarence House confirmed it when they were releasing the finances last year.

If you were not sure, not too far to go for a reconfirmation end of this month.

smilesy · 15/04/2022 12:49

H has been financially cut off. That is a fact

I thought they wanted to be financially independent? So why would that be inconsistent with that?

oliviastwisted · 15/04/2022 12:50

I personally think that the royal family is the most quintessential dysfunctional family out there. The boarding school from early childhood, the complete emotional detachment of virtually every generation (possibly with the exception of this generation of parents although that remains to be seen) towards children’s emotional needs, the death of Diana at such a formative time in William and Harry’s life, the immaturity of Charles (and Diana) in handling his affair and subsequent marriage breakup.

People don’t handle this stuff well at the best of times and despite their financial and social privilege the Royal family are engaging in a pretty big rug sweeping exercise in dealing with what are pretty genuine issues in their family typical of every dysfunctional family our there. The duty and obligation mantra beaten into Royals as they develop with absolutely no space for any inner world or mental health considerations is inhumane and what is happening now with Harry is they have closed ranks to allow the dysfunction to get passed on to the next generations and on and on.

Roussette · 15/04/2022 12:54

Great post Olivia

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/04/2022 12:57

Clarence House confirmed it when they were releasing the finances last year

Very true though within the smoke and mirrors world of the RF the words "financially independent" used can mean a lot of things

To me at least the rather emotive "cut off" suggests no money at all, private or otherwise, and I wouldn't want to just assume this is the case

notanotheroneagain · 15/04/2022 13:02

It is not inconsistent. The timing of it seems a bit off.

H&M carried on with the royal duties during the one year gap. Maybe right at the beginning they should have been told to stop duties immediately and go find ways to make money, rather than saying there is a one year whatever it was. It all seems rather underhand, especially because the engagements they made were public, so the palace cannot say they did not know.

Personally, I think Charles let them carry on deliberately, thinking he would hold them hostage over the financial issue. Put them back in the box as it were.

notanotheroneagain · 15/04/2022 13:08

The palace has nothing to gain from hiding it if they are giving H&M money. Why would they need Tyler Perry's help if they are getting money from PC anyway.

Sounds to me like you are just tying to find a clutch to hold on to holding them accountable to you as a taxpayer.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/04/2022 13:16

Why would they need Tyler Perry's help if they are getting money from PC anyway

Who can say? Maybe the same reason that so many with money always want more?

On the accountability I imagine it's pretty well known that I detest the RF's lack of it, but H&M aren't working members now so it's quite fair that there should be no expectation for them to explain where their money comes from.
Doesn't stop some of us being interested in the facts behind the silly headlines though, or wondering why Harry chose to publicise what was by then a private matter

notanotheroneagain · 15/04/2022 13:20

He explained what took place because people were speculating and asking. I know I was asking.

Chilledchablis1 · 15/04/2022 13:23

“H has been financially cut off. That is a fact”

Really ? Just because he claimed it doesn’t make it true ! Also what’s wrong with stopping handouts to a multi millionaire middle aged man who no longer wants to work in the family business ? Plus , according to many , MM made millions during her acting career so they will hardly be claiming benefits !

notanotheroneagain · 15/04/2022 13:29

@Chilledchablis1
please see my answer above in this thread about the timing and work that took place.
PC knew very well that security would be costly, and so would the set up. A heads up would help.

ancientgran · 15/04/2022 13:33

Well as a grandmother I'm glad Harry visited his grandmother. I would hate it if I couldn't see one of my grandsons because he had moved abroad and would look forward to visits. Shame it was so short but I'm sure it meant alot to her.

Indeed but as I said H is a multi millionaire and M an ( apparently) successful actress so why need Daddy’s help . They said themselves that they had thought about leaving so why on earth did they not consider how they would pay for their new life ? Also they explicitly said they wanted to be financially independent!

Roussette · 15/04/2022 13:47

And they are

Are you saying that they are not part of the family at all now? They are paying for themselves, where is it said they can't? You're not paying for them so no idea why you're so worried about it all. They ARE financially independent, you are making a mountain out of nothing because it rankles they've done what they said and the pot of possible criticism is getting smaller and smaller

Viviennemary · 15/04/2022 13:52

Their life style will cost hundreds of thousands a year to maintain. And the rest.
