Harry’s legal proceedings against Home Office

SnottyLottie · 24/03/2022 20:46

Part of Harry’s claim will remain private. The judge has granted that some documentation can be withheld or redacted due to security reasons (seems sensible to me).

But today the judge has berated Harry’s legal team for breaching the court rules when a copy of the rulings were emailed to someone who’s wasn’t a lawyer. Lawyer Shaheed Fatima WC was also berated for coming into court without an apology for the “clear breach” of court rules.

Seems so sad for the Queen that she didn't get to see her grandchildren and given her declining health time is running out.

Viviennemary · 16/04/2022 11:51

He is exploiting it by using netflix to make money for himself.

Roussette · 16/04/2022 12:23

Have a word with the organisations connected with it then Viv, as has been said endlessly, they're happy with the exposure and heightened awareness of the Games

Becles · 16/04/2022 12:42

Nope. Both Netflix and invictus have stated all thr money from the filming connected to the games is going to invictus. Harry and Meghan won't get a penny.

Next unfounded slur please... Easter Hmm

Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/04/2022 12:45

I didn't think the Netherlands had (VVIP) status? (based on earlier posts on the thread) and that no official announcements had been made

I believe you're right on both counts, so maybe it's best to wait and see if anything official's ever said instead of placing too much confidence in "sources"

On that subject I dared to dial up Twatter to see some of the deranged comments - god, was that a mistake Hmm - and notice that the grotesque Scobie's at it again
You really do have to wonder what goes through these people's minds ...

You really do have to wonder what goes through these people's minds ...

I often have those thoughts on these threads!

smilesy · 16/04/2022 13:02

I don’t see why it is incompatible that Netflix should be giving all the money to Invictus and Harry and Meghan are benefiting too. Aren’t they supposed to be making content for Netflix? Couldn’t this footage be used again in some way? There are rumours (I have no idea of their authenticity) that there was a camera van with them when they went to Windsor 🤷‍♀️

Gilmorehill · 16/04/2022 13:03

I think it’s very sad for Charles too. He hasn’t seen his DGS in over two years and he’s never met his DGD.
Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/04/2022 13:11

There are rumours (I have no idea of their authenticity) that there was a camera van with them when they went to Windsor

I guess the truth of that will have to wait until we see the documentary.
It would be nice to think that a "private visit" could be kept just that - private - but time will tell

Roussette · 16/04/2022 13:14

smilesy I thought the van with the blacked out windows was what they were travelling in?

smilesy · 16/04/2022 13:24

I thought the van with the blacked out windows was what they were travelling in?

There was a 4x4 with blacked out windows, which they were presumably travelling in. It was followed by a transit type van with blacked our windows apparently 🤷‍♀️ Idoubt they were travelling in a transit van 🤣

AnnunciataZ · 16/04/2022 13:39

the grotesque Scobie's at it again

I don't think he's any better or worse than the average royal reporter. In fact he came across fairly well in the recent Princes and the Press documentary. I was expecting some sort of OTT fanboy but his comments were measured and factual, which is more than I could say of Camilla Tominey's!

Roussette · 16/04/2022 13:45

I was pleasantly surprised by him in that documentary too. He came across measured and thoughtful

Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/04/2022 14:00

I agree that could have been a whole lot worse, but was thinking more of the appalling stuff he writes, the constant self promotion and the irritating pretence of always being on the spot - to say nothing of the teenage-style poses with his phone, his trainers, his designer dog, etc.

Guess I really shouldn't have looked at his SM presence ... Grin

Does he have a social media presence?
AnastasiaRomanov · 16/04/2022 14:55

Oh Scobie! ☺️

If it’s true that Netflix is donating all the profits , how are they going to separate that particular part from the rest of the documentary? I assume it will be all one documentary about H and M?
Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/04/2022 15:04

Oh Scobie! ☺️

Sounds like you found it then? Wink

As said I hardly ever go on this stuff, and this time I wish I hadn't

AnastasiaRomanov · 16/04/2022 15:13

No there’s no way I would look at it! You’re braver than me!

Roussette · 16/04/2022 15:51

No.
Here is a link from Invictus.

invictusgamesfoundation.org/new-netflix-series-to-cover-the-invictus-games-foundation-and-the-journey-to-the-invictus-games-the-hague-2020/#:~:text=HEART%20OF%20INVICTUS%20IS%20THE,SPIRIT%20BEHIND%20THE%20INVICTUS%20GAMES.

Dominic Reid, Chief Executive of the Invictus Games Foundation, said: “We’re very excited about the opportunity to shine the global spotlight of Netflix on the men and women that we work with, in order to ensure that even more people can be inspired by their determination and fortitude in working towards their recovery. This partnership will also bring in significant funding to the charity. We are extremely grateful to our Founding Patron for his continued efforts to support the military community, and for making this partnership happen.”

queenofarles · 16/04/2022 16:50

Nothing wrong in keeping some of the Profits from a documentary about an event they are both heavily involved in, how will they make money then?

Ohnonevermind · 16/04/2022 17:19

The Netflix model is different now to the way it
Was before

The standard agreement is that Netflix retains the rights and does a cost plus model (cost plus percentage to the producers but the front end distribution and marketing are charged ‘front loaded’ to the producers end. They might have a different deal,

It’s a hard model to make money on a one off documentary. Multiple season series is where the money/profits are

The days of Seinfeld making 300m are gone as Netflix would make the syndication money
.

Are you serious !

Have you seen Richard Eden, Richard Palmer, Angela Levin, Dan Wooton etc.

They are not just disgusting, they are also liars.

Make Scobie sound like an altar boy in comparison.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/04/2022 18:50

Are you serious!

Perfectly, yes; I'm the first to accept there may be people even worse, but that doesn't change my view of the one who was being discussed

smilesy · 23/04/2022 13:36

If this new book is to be believed, it would certainly shed a lot of light on why Harry has such a bee in his bonnet about security
