Harry’s legal proceedings against Home Office

SnottyLottie · 24/03/2022 20:46

Part of Harry’s claim will remain private. The judge has granted that some documentation can be withheld or redacted due to security reasons (seems sensible to me).

But today the judge has berated Harry’s legal team for breaching the court rules when a copy of the rulings were emailed to someone who’s wasn’t a lawyer. Lawyer Shaheed Fatima WC was also berated for coming into court without an apology for the “clear breach” of court rules.

@drivinmecrazy

I wonder who leaked the story of their private visit. All great optics for Netflix to show that there is no rift with the RF. Hmmmm. Wonder who that benefits.
It wasn't leaked.

They announced it officially, after they had seen the Queen (and possibly after they had already left for the Netherlands). Only announcement was from the Sussexes.

I don't think it'll make any difference to the court case.

Yoohoo778611 · 15/04/2022 08:08

I wonder if they saw William and Catherine

AnastasiaRomanov · 15/04/2022 08:10

The news reports say only HM and C and C.
They arrived on Wednesday and left yesterday. Stayed at Frogmore.

Chilledchablis1 · 15/04/2022 08:28

Glad that they managed to cast aside their fears and visited HM .
As for who told the press , the only official statement I have seen is from the Sussex spokesperson.

They are currently on a skiing holiday .

JADS · 15/04/2022 09:30

I think it's great that they have managed an incognito visit. The only announcement seems to be from the Sussexes via CNN. I think HM being at Windsor makes it easier.

Viviennemary · 15/04/2022 09:34

I can't see what's great about them visiting. Nothing has changed.

Mumsnut · 15/04/2022 09:46

its a step. Nothing will change unless there is actual interaction.

Viviennemary · 15/04/2022 09:59

They are nothing but trouble. I should imagine the rest of the family knows this. I suspect they are trying to worm their way back in to royal life. This was always on the cards.

StartupRepair · 15/04/2022 10:08

'and how's your book going, Harry dear?'

Gilmorehill · 15/04/2022 10:12

I was on Twitter just now and I saw a tweet claiming the Queen cancelled attending the Maundy Thursday service because she wanted to see Harry. It was followed by lots of people agreeing. Oh my word.

In your head yes.
It would rather spoil your enjoyment of criticising them if the visit was warmly welcomed and all enjoyed it

SoyMarina · 15/04/2022 10:34

Interesting they ‘popped in’ to see the Queen and C and C.
They have a lot of making up to do but I’m sure bridges will be built in time.
Although I’m not sure William will ever like or trust Meghan again.
I reckon Meg wants to be part of the Royal family again but only on her terms which would only involve her coming to big events.
So, they’ll pick and chose.
Who knows?

Roussette · 15/04/2022 10:46

AnnunciataZ · 15/04/2022 10:55

So let me get this straight: Harry and Meghan are criticised for not visiting the Queen. But when they do visit her, they're criticised for releasing a statement saying that they did? But if they hadn't then no one would know and they'd continue to be criticised for staying away.

Either way they can't win!

I am pleased that H visited HM but why did H and M have to announce what was clearly a private visit ?
Yes, there were rumours but ( as far as I know) no photographic evidence .

Roussette · 15/04/2022 11:25

Because people won't stop banging on about them not visiting.
That's why

That sounds like utter bollocks to me, given that she's also cancelled attending a public service on Easter Day.

Also that doesn't have any bearing on the court case about the Duke's security arrangements in UK.

But that it seems he wants to be able to chose how he visits, in light of the circumstances at the time (his line of not visiting at all without blanket state-provided security for any and all visits regardless of itinerary and risk assessment, now proved to be an exaggerated version). So if it's case by case assessment, perhaps he will/should drop the case, as that's exactly what the givenment offered in the first place and remains in position

The Queen is rumoured to be self conscious about her mobility problems. There were photos after or before the service and it looks like there are a lot of steps.

They did not 'announce' anything. They 'confirmed', ie. they were asked and confirmed this to be true.
Why on earth would Scobie give a scoop to the Sun if he is the source of this.

Very telling that W&K were not even in the country, and no one knew about this visit till after the fact.

I find the mention of PC and C rather sus , because they are not mentioned in the Sussex statement.
In the meantime, the pensioners are supposed to have seen them as they were coming out of the church ? The same service that PC and C were filmed at ? So when did they visit with H&M then? Where were H&M going when they were spotted by the pensioners. Also the pensioners are not mentioned by the main media like BBC, Sky etc. Weird.

My suspicions is that only a select few knew about the visit, HMQ and Frogmore Cottage. Everyone else found out after.

The palace source obviously did not know in time, my thoughts are that the 'pensioners' are a cover because we all have grown weary of the palace source.

Because it will probably feature in the Heart of Invictus documentary that they are filming.
chickenpestopanini · 15/04/2022 11:53

Not the actual meeting but shots of them in Windsor

JADS · 15/04/2022 12:08

Good grief, W&K aren't in the country because they have school aged children and they have taken them skiing during their school holidays. Or are they not allowed to do that? It's hardly "telling".

If you think the PC and C non mention by the Sussex site is sus, I would suggest that would be because it doesn't suit PH's 'cut
off and abandoned' narrative.

It's important that they visited HMQ, his grandmother, in a private capacity and I'm glad they did it on the down low. She is clearly frail and covid has exhausted her. Not everything has to be a great conspiracy. Looks like they even got adequate security for their needs. Surely that's a win for all?

AnnunciataZ · 15/04/2022 12:10

I also find the talk about the Queen's possible decreasing mobility quite distasteful and ableist. I've seen "she doesn't want to appear in a wheelchair" repeated across the media and on MN a fair bit. Clearly because there's nothing worse than having to use a wheelchair!! Hmm
